The portal closed leaving Jane and Zari behind while they stood in utter surprise since they didn't expect that they would be sent directly into the chambers interrupting the flow of the meeting where they were gazed upon by the recruits especially the council members who were taken aback by their sudden arrival through the portal.
Selon peered at them with great attention after silently sneaked into the penultimate position in the second queue leaving Sasan standing by the doorway next to the two large doors.
"What happened to you, Zari?", Makom broke the silence after snapping out of the mild trance, "And I think you must be the one Eamus mentioned in his scrolls he sent to us which gave an accurate descriptions as well as some details about you in his correspondence with the council after we sent him a message to inform us in detail of how they would curb the crisis",
"Well..... quite a lot of unfortunate events took place when I alone got to the central city of Tyron where their headquarters was situated in the middle of the city", Zari replied as she held her upper left arm with her right arm while trying to suppress her bleeding wound which gushed out series of little blue blood that slips through her constricted fingers, slowly dripping on the us ground. She was wounded while defending her from the Tarnites, covering most part of her with her bruises that she sustained from the sharp claws of the two beasts whom she fought bravely. The trainees stood in two lines which stretches a bit farther facing the council who sat at opposite ends on the raised platform with Makom seated above them. Although they were distant apart, Makom could still notice something wrong with Zari and clearly see the wounds coupled with bruises on her arms and legs including the shoulder which surprised him a lot and then he asked,
"Are you feeling alright, Zari?", Makom asked as he could still see some scars on her face, "Do you need any attention from our medicine experts?",
"Thanks for the concern but... .I think I am okay", Zari lied for she thought she could handle the pains she sustained from her wounds.
"That's good to know. Then you wouldn't mind if I inquiring about your sudden arrival. So tell me what unfortunate incident took place?", Makom quickly interrogated, "Why are you covered in cuts and bruises? And why aren't those warriors from the other sects with you whom the council instructed to assist the Tyronian council?", Makom questioned persistently since he was a not too happy to see her all covered in painful wounds while those other members were no where to be found,
"Like I said earlier, I went alone to the central city of Tyron where their headquarters was located leaving behind those three other warriors at a brook between two separated valley covered with tall pine trees, who wanted to spend the night there before going to Tyron the next sunrise but I disagreed and left them there while I rode alone to Tyron where I found out that Akanon had taken the council members hostage inside the building except for Samon who wasn't with them when Akanon attacked the building with his henchmen together with some of ferocious Tarnites", Zari replied softly while trying to suppress the bleeding from her upper arm which had drained a lot of energy from her while the trainees including Selon kept listening with keen interest as they stared at the two creature standing before them.
"How were you able to deal with the situation when you arrive there?",. Makom asked again with his gaze directly fixed on her. She was about to reply when her countenance became pale at once and was about to collapse when Jane caught her which kept her reaching the hard floor. The hall suddenly became rowdy which flown into a state of confusion as Selon and some other trainees all tried to revive her but to no avail.
"Quickly call the guards and tell them to take her to our medicine experts quickly! Tell them to dress her wounds!", Makom quickly ordered Sasan who quickly obeyed and came in at once with the guards outside the entrance. They promptly carried Zari away to the medicine experts with Sasan following behind them while the rest of them watched as they took her out of the hall into the corridor until she was fully out of sight.
"All of you should stop staring at the empty passage and come inside let's continue our meeting which interrupted a long time ago", Makom said bringing the others back from their trance as they moved back inside through the large door in order to resume the meeting.
"I sincerely apologize on behalf of what just happened, it wasn't her intention to disrupt this meeting since she also is a council member", Makom said apologetically. Selon wasn't quite himself after he had seen Zari in such a terrible state as he walked up to his previous position in the second queue while Jane followed behind to the back to the other queue and stood behind Cascon from Minimus sect at the first queue.
"Who told you to stand behind them?", Helek asked vehemently which startled Jane who wasn't quite sure she was doing the right thing, "Are you among those chosen to embark on this mission?",
Jane was about to give a reply when Makom, the leader of the council, replied him instead, "Yes, she was secretly being chosen by the Tyron council to represent them since they needed every other warriors to defend the city against Vedon's troops as well as curb the internal crisis in the city",
"Is that true?", Helek asked in surprise, "But we weren't notified about it, how can we believe what you said without any solid proof of her inclusion?",
"Let me show it you then",. Makom answered and issued forth a small scroll, using his power, which were inscribed serveral writings from Tyron which also the Tyron council's insignia together with another abridged scroll which Makom apparently used to decipher the message from Tyron which appeared in front of Helek who picked it up and read it," Eamus sent me this official message to me when Syclar had notified them to choose amongst them who would represent them in this mission. He did this secretly on behalf of the council because they were preoccupied with tackling problematic issues arising because of that shrewd bastard called Akanon. And in addition, I was about to mention it to you all before the portal interrupted us",
"Alright, I won't act belligerently anymore. And as for you my dear, please don't be offended since I wasn't aware that you were chosen to represent your sect and I hope you won't hold any grudge against me", Helek apologized by placing his right hand on his head as sign of accepting his faulty action.
"I won't hold a single grudge against you your grace, because I understand that you weren't aware of the secret message", Jane replied with a charming smile which made Helek a bit perplexed about it.
"Hear me now, young warriors representing each selected sects You all are about to embark on a hazardous mission to retrieve the lost sword of Zoa which is vital in ending this war which is now currently stalled by our troops in Ataxia. But before you leave for this journey, there will be a brief training you must undergo because of limited time which will equip you as well as upgrade each level of powers that you were in your respective sects which I know not of but this training will only give additional level of powers if you partake in it fully and would prepare you well enough in case you encounter any foe of any sort as well as overcome any dangerous situation you find yourselves in", Makom explained and concluded by saying, "So without any further delay, we have decided to appoint two leaders for the expedition, one who is called Selon, son of Ranus representing the Winterians and Agius, son of Matius representing the Sargusians. They will be captains of two groups of three who would work together to decipher each route to take as indicated on the small map which we'll give to you after the training session",
Then Makom gestured Syclar to speak up about how the training will be conducted including its agenda and what areas of abilities it will deal on.
"Thank you your eminence, for bestowing me the privilege to pass this info about what the training entails", Syclar said with a slight bow and began immediately, "This training will be conducted by an adhoc group of four set up by the council for four moons during which you all will be taught concurrently in different sessions each day during that period. Each session will have its own lesson as well as practical use of powerful spells which will be taught and carried out by each four appointed tutors. The training will commence tomorrow at dawn. While you all must put on this attire for the whole course of the training",
"What is the venue for the training?", Selon politely said without following proper decorum since he interrupted Syclar's speech without prior indication that he was going to ask a question which made the other council members sneered at him except for Makom and Helek who strangely smiled but couldn't queried him because of the raised hands of Makom which told them not to speak up. Makom did so because Selon just reminded him of Ranus' carefree attitude and who didn't care much about proper decorum whenever he was in their midst.
"The whole training exercises will be held right here in the capitol building", Syclar replied although he was infuriated by his disrespectful attitude, he still felt inclined to answer since he forgot to mention the venue of the whole exercise.
Then he asked,"Any further questions?", but there wasn't any reply, "Okay if none, that'll be all for now and further instructions will be given to you during the course of the training", Syclar said and sat down,
"Alright, I adjourned this meeting till the next moon. Do well to adequately prepare yourselves for the training tomorrow. You're hereby dismissed except for Jane who will remain behind to answer some questions about what befell Zari", Makom said immediately after Syclar was done with his speech while the trainees including the council members all exit the hall leaving Makom and Jane behind.
