2018 Modern Day Earth-
Bev had a rough life since she was little. Her parents died when she was 12 and just as she finished saying goodbye at their funeral she was quickly shipped off to her maternal aunt's house to live.
Aunt Cee and Uncle Virgil already had three children. And as a fourth mouth to feed, not much care nor attention was given to her. She was constantly bullied by her cousins and blamed for the trouble they caused.
They were very biased towards their own children so Bev always ended up being scolded and locked in her room as punishment. At least she wasn't hit though.
When she finally graduated at age 18, Bev moved into the Dorms of the University she successfully got into. Although it wasn't the greatest of schools, this gave her the chance she needed to get her diploma, get a well paying job, find a small apartment to start out at, and perhaps find love.
After spending four years there, she was handed her diploma . Her small group of friends hugged each other promising to stay in touch as they went their separate ways. Two leaving the country and the other moving on the other side of it. Although they will be missed, they all needed to go their separate paths in life.
Not long ago, Bev found a job at library as a hobby. The wage was pretty good so she got a cheap apartment to start out in earlier that month. Set with the bare basics, she started job hunting. The thing with college is that, besides gaining the knowledge for a good job, it also gives you the opportunity to make connections with those in your field. Enough charisma and many doors will open for you.
During her internship, she had done well and got along decently with the boss of the company, landing her an interview with a business he recommended.
That evening she needed to head to the next city over to participate.
After having a quick lunch at the local family diner a block over, she headed home.
Her outfit was already picked out, sitting on the bed since six in the morning. Although it was a bit costly, it was all worth it if she got accepted.
After three hours of watch TV while glancing at the clock even few minutes, she started to get ready. It's going to be a long drive to get there so make up could wait while waiting in traffic. (Don't do this folks)
Feeling excited at the thought of finally making her way in life she rushed down the stairs with a skip in her step. Or at least she tried.
Bev is a girl who always wore sneakers and never heels. Even at parties and her high school prom, it was flats. So Bev mistakingly believe you can just hop down the stairs in them with no issue. Well...on her first step down her heel landed crooked causing her ankle to bend. As she wasn't on solid ground, she fell face head down the cement stairs, never to wake up again.
Or so he thought.
