Chapter 11 - The Ruins <Part 4>

** POV Chell Signe **

A few days ago, I was informed by my father that I will be going to a low-level ruin. Truthfully I questioned it... that is to say, the need of me going to one as I had already been to a few before and they were not much of a challenge.

Nevertheless, I was still required to go... and here I am now about to enter the ruin. When I arrived here I was shocked to see a Peak Rank 7 beast here as a person's mount, as not too many people have the resources or ability to contract and provide for them.

The only thing I found more interesting than the beast itself, was the one who was controlling it... in other words its master. As I was lost dazing at the figure that lay on the high-rank beast, I heard a voice from behind me causing me to turn around.

"Chell, how have you been?!"

"Ah Lin, I've been well and It's nice to see you," I said to Lin Mei, a childhood friend of mine that I had not seen in a while. Behind her, we're a few others who were also a part of high-class society that I had been acquainted with or were friends with.

"It's been ridiculously boring, I hope this ruin has something good in it at least! That aside the admission exam for Dawn academy is in a week, are you prepared for it?!" Lin said after which a sigh followed indicating her boredom.

"Same here, I do hope it is even the slightest bit interesting... and as for your other question, I am confident I will gain admission into the Alpha class without much difficulty."

I replied with confidence as I knew what my capabilities were, being a user of three elements also possessing a "Bloodline Art", and knowing the strengths of the people I would be competing against.

"Ooh... quite the confidence there won't you say so Chell." The one who said this was Dreyfus Moriel, A dual elemental magus also possessing a bloodline art.

"Yes, I am, nice to see you too Dreyfus! That aside, who's that near the rank 7 beast?" I asked as my curiosity had finally peaked, highly interested in who the mysterious person was.

"Ahh... he apparently is a low-class citizen who wishes to enter the ruin, and he is the same age as every one of us participating?" Dreyfus answered back but you could hear the disdain in his tone.

"A low-class citizen huh... is there not any other information on him like elements, a weapon of choice, or even his magus stage?!" I asked engulfed in curiosity and intrigue.

"We know nothing about him, other than him popping up from thin air!" Lin said dejectedly as that was the disappointing truth of the matter.

I was a little bit annoyed but just overlooked it and begun walking towards the rift, as it was almost past the waiting time limit. The person of interest on the other hand was still laying down on the beast, almost as if unaware of the situation.

"All present participants, you may proceed into the rift in

all participants are now permitted entrance, please enter!!"

As I was about to enter I took a glance back at the person, only to very briefly see a spark of white lightning followed by a sonic boom, and someone going right above my head and into the rift.

My interest had peaked!!

For someone as blessed as me, having three elemental affinities, being born as a member of high-class society and at that into one with a bloodline art, It was an understatement to say I was simply fortunate.

That said It was even harder for me to be remotely interested in anyone, especially one the same age as I was; as I was essentially at the "top of my class", so to speak. That said, I did not take it for granted as I knew anyone else would give anything to have what I had... or rather live my life in my place.

I had made up my mind to converse with this masked person, once this entire ordeal was over as it was not often I met someone who was possibly at a similarly equal strength level as I was.

** POV Clovis **

It had been about an hour since I had made my way into the ruin and to be frank, I was bored out of my mind! I could have used my scan to completely get a precise layout of this ruin and Its contents but I was the one who chose not to.

After my initial encounter with the Rank 2 beasts, my expectations of this ruin took a nosedive for the worse, as I now had no expectancy from this ruin... or so I had thought!

For a very brief moment, I felt a High-Rank 4 beasts mana signature; and unfortunately, it was headed for a location that was crowded with a large number of people, that too at a high speed!

I instantly changed directions and burst through the walls without any care whatsoever, headed towards an intersection between the gathering of people and the High-Rank 4 beast. I could have reached there instantaneously had it been a path devoid of any obstacles but alas, it wasn't.

'almost there' I thought to myself right before I broke through the last wall and found myself in a wide hall, as a gathering of different groups were trying to decipher what looked like a puzzle. But I didn't exactly have the time to stare, so I just kept dashing forward towards an entrance of the hall.

Sinister looks of course made their appearance all directed at me, but I chose to ignore them as well and focus on the task at hand. A few people had also just noticed the danger closing in on them, while others remained oblivious

The instant I reached there, I sent a kick at what others would assume was the air but in truth, I was actually sending a preemptive kick to what came to be a 20-feet green wolf, dashing at a speed almost inconceivable to the eye straight into the kick as it flew to the left crashing into the wall.

Those unaware had finally come to the realization of the situation, albeit a little late. The Wolf in question got up as it stared at me in anger, and although I could deal with this fairly quickly, there were two minor issues that made this an exception.

The first was the restriction on using my katanas and the second one being the number of people present, I would have to protect them while also dealing enough damage to keep it in check.

My thirst for a fight itched as I had never been this excited before.
