'Damn, I have nowhere to run'
The golens began to surround me on all sides, like large walls leaving me with no room for movement.
I use shadow evasion throwing myself up and with that I throw shadow impulse repeatedly 8 times until I fall, knocking down 7 golens.
The small space opened by this small attack is quickly covered by the other golens.
The blows start to come from everywhere, much of it defended by the mandrake shield, but leaving my back open for other attacks.
Two sudden attacks on the back launch me towards one of the golens in front of me, destabilizing me.
'Shit, mandrake shield!'
With no room to stand, I throw myself on the floor and turn my shield over my body while I activate it.
The damage absorbed by the shield is released suddenly, destroying the upper part of the body of the 4 golens closest to me.
Sweat and blood started to mix on my face.
"SHADOW IMPULSE" I scream while using the attack more two times, defeating the other two golens.
Gremory was unaware of his limits, but it was obvious even to the audience that he was close to hitting them.
'Damn, depending on luck will not work anymore, even more having to spend mana using shadow evasion to even be able to attack with shadow impulse'
I start to release all the remaining energy in my body for my short sword.
The sword made of shadows already had an extremely dark appearance, and the remaining energy started to transcend out of the sword as if it were trying to feed on the surrounding light.
As if the sword now burns in black flames.
Gremory did this because the enemies were too close to be depending on a mid-range attack.
Before the golens had a chance to prepare, Gremory dropped his shield on the ground and went after them, cutting as much as he could, the attacks themselves were not enough to kill them, but the remaining energy in the form of flames got stuck to anything it touched, feeding on its own rocks.
'That's what I was talking about HAHA'
I keep using it until the flames are completely dispersed from the blade, in total another 7 golens are consumed by the flames.
'I think that was it, all I had left...'
I suddenly start to remember my training with Robert, "When your mana runs out it won't be the end of the world, you'll just be in the same position as a normal person".
'Not even when dead you let me free from your sermons, but as always you are right...'
Gremory knew that the core of all golens was in the middle of the body. With that in mind he jumped over one of the golens forming the wall and started attacking him from behind with the short blade trying to pierce the stones.
It was a desperate attack, as the golem tried to turn around Gremory followed the movement always staying behind him but quickly the remaining 9 golens started to surround him.
Until he had no more room to move again.
'Not yet, I am almost there'
Gremory looks up and sees the heaps of rocks with their arms raised ready to attack him.
One after another, the attacks began to descend with all their might, for each attack a great blow was felt by Gremory as his ribs broke.
After the first round of attacks, Gremory was barely able to stand.
The golens' attacks were slow but very strong, again the golens started raising their arms while Gremory desperately tried to get to the core of just one of the golens.
'NOT YEEEET'
Until finally the blade reached the core and broke it, knocking over one of the golens.
'I did it old man'
In that instant Gremory forgets that this is a test, while spreading his arms waiting for his death with a smile on his face.
The golens ruthlessly strike again.
The first attack hit his chest breaking the rest of the ribs he still had and throwing him back, while he fell another of the attacks hit his leg breaking the bone as he fell to the ground until the next repeated attacks hit his face, instantly knocking him down.
The noisy audience begins to be overcome by silence as the golens prepare to attack the unconscious child again.
"ENOUGH!" The woman with the white hair spoke as a breeze blew past the remaining golens.
Gremory was now smashed to the ground, like a fly smashed by a slap.
--- In the Grandstand ---
The current leader of the Viridian House, GrandMaster Kluster Bhuor again spoke in an apprehensive tone.
"Can you see Marquis Ranseur? This is what we need to know about the people who come here, even more important than to know about their strength"
"I understand, but is he still alive?"
"I very much doubt that he would have died after going through all this. Moreover, we have the best healers here"
"I think we are missing something crucial here, what kind of skill was that?" Lady Valeriam spoke interrupting Kluster.
The GrandMaster Kluster got up from his chair and walked to the edge of the platform.
"Do you still ask after seeing that ending? Obviously his element is fire!" He spoke.
