Meanwhile, in the family car…
"You've prepared for this too, haven't you?" a soft feminine voice sounded at the back of the car.
"The moment you grilled those insurance dogs, I already knew." A rough masculine voice answered back.
"Did you at least…" Eliza worried as she still recalls the reasons why Marko went out to hunt.
"Took away all books involving combat? I did. Rather, I left books about healing. Maybe he could become a healer instead of a caster." Justin talked over Eliza. Justin knew what Eliza wanted to say, but he felt like he wasn't in the mood to talk about it.
Eliza understood her husband well. It's not the time to ask for that. At least this tells her that he really did take those away.
"So did I, but rather I just placed the cases I dealt with. At least he knows the dangers and craziness of this world." Eliza continued.
"Do you think he'd read 'em?" Justin asked Eliza with a curious gaze.
"Most likely not, but I left the most eye-catching cases in the desk. Maybe he would." Eliza explained as she rested her head on Justin's solid shoulder.
"That was what I thought to do too."
"Master, we're here."
"Thank you Illana, you take care honey." Justin kissed Eliza beside her and left the car.
Watching her husband leave, a sincere smile appeared on her face. Unlike the domineering wife, she showed Trex in the morning, now she's the kind of submissive wife who finally dated the guy she's been having a massive crush on.
Not to mention that she knew her husband so well that even though she made Justin say some relatively embarrassing words, they knew very well that it was done in good humor.
Seeing her lady like this, Illana felt happy. Sold as a slave, she's now a maid working for her master, who took care of her even before the abolishment of slavery. Unlike what her pretty and petite face appears to be, she's actually older than Eliza.
'Serving for this kind of family is really my blessing,' Illana thought to herself.
"Should we head to that building now, madam?"
"No, but you should take him there. If he liked it, at least we could prepare it before he moves. Hopefully, he'll manage to study enough for the academy."
——
Bedroom…
Trex opened every single cabinet or drawer in the room to look for more things about Marko Rhemi. Besides even more gaming merchandise, there really was nothing else.
At this point, Trex is staring at the game console in front of his bed.
The temptation for him to play right now is severe. But that fact that he's in a world where fantasy is reality helps him deny gaming for now.
'Maybe… just… just one game… Yeah.'
Before he could open the interface, he heard a doorbell ringing.
His hands froze in the air.
'That's right, mum said I can ask Illana to go out with me as my guide or something.'
Swiftly, he went down.
——
Outside the door, Illana pulled out a ruby-like gem in the shape of a pyramid. Like a scanner, she placed the gem in front of the doorknob.
*Click*
The door unlocked.
Opening the door, Illana froze because Trex was standing right in front of her.
"Hi…" Trex suddenly blurted out.
"… H… hello...?" Illana answered subconsciously. Quickly regaining her wits, she added, "What are you doing there, Mar?"
"I was just about to open the door when you opened it, haha." Trex answered awkwardly. "So uh, mum told me you'll go out with me, right?"
"Y… yes? I mean, we can go around the town to see if you can recover your memories. It was one of the prescriptions given by the doctor." Illana answered weirdly. She didn't misunderstand the young man in front of him, but the way Trex talks felt so awkward to her that even she felt like stuttering.
The more she heard Trex's words, the weirder she felt. It was almost like he's speaking in fluent gibberish, but the meaning is perfectly understandable. She never noticed because Trex didn't really talk much, and whenever he does, he does so in short bursts.
'Is this because it's rare for me to hear him speak this much?' She thought.
Trex had no idea what Illana was thinking, but he felt even more anxious. 'Did I say something wrong? Am I talking like a robot?' various thoughts gnawed on his head, but he really needed to reply. "Uh, yes. I just feel like I should go out. I don't really know why."
Hearing that, Illana understood. This is good.
"Do you want to go now?" she asked as she sized up the already dressed-up man.
Trex nodded.
——
Buckling up herself, Illana turned to Trex. "Where do you wanna go first, Mar?"
Trex stared at her blankly. 'How do I answer this?'
"I…"
"Oh, do you wanna visit your favorite place before?" Illana suddenly spoke when she recalled Trex has amnesia.
"Oh, yeah. Let's go there first then," Trex answered.
"Alright." Illana nodded as she twisted a pyramid-shaped emerald at the side of the steering wheel.
*Vrrrrrrmmmm*
As the car revved up, Illana once again looked towards Trex.
"That reminds me, your mother asked. After the summer vacation you went and applied for a game design course in Solen Central University, do you still want to go ahead for that or defer to next year?"
Trex was surprised. This was one of the reasons why he scoured his room, turning it upside down.
He had no idea who Marko Rhemi was nor what he did prior. He only knew that if compared to his last world, his age should be around after high school.
Still, the moment he heard that Marko wanted to get into a university for game design, he was thrilled. His expression lightens up, and Illana caught on to it.
Without waiting for Trex to answer, she nodded and turned back to the road.
"Alright then, first let's head to Traveller's Arcade."
Trex wrinkled his forehead as the words seem to be familiar to him.
