Duh da da dun, duh da da dun, duh da da dun.
The sound of Paul's, Rachel's, and Zeno's horses was fast and deafening. Samuel and Mark watched from the courtyard as the three others left. Jessica ran out after waking up.
"Where are they going? Do we need to follow them?"
Mark then answered, "there going to enact vengence."
Jessica, Samuel, and Mark could only hang their heads in sorrow as the night of bloodshed by the others hands would be saddening.
Duh da da dun, duh da da dun, duh da da dun.
Ultas, Voron, and the assassins heard the loud stampede of the horses approaching.
Cansoulian lead Ultas and Voron away, and Zeno chased them. Paul and Rachel stood against Argripian and Sorrian. Rachel rushed in yelling at Sorrian that she took Sam away from him. Agripian and Paul stood face to face, neither moving.
Sorrian danced around fluidly, dodging Rachel's wild and broad swings. Sorrian had no intention of hurting or fighting Rachel. She understood why she was angry. She understood why Paul was angry. She was angry herself, but she wouldn't be able to stop Agripian, and certainly not Paul. She continued to dance until Rachel dropped down in tears. Sorrian put her blade away and knelt by Rachel, putting her hand on Rachel's shoulder gently.
"I know you love him, or at least loved him. I love him too."
Paul and Agripian drew their swords slowly. Agripian wanted to explain himself, tell Paul that Ultas and Voron were the ones that order the kills, but he knew that didn't matter. He killed his friend, and he needed to face those consequences. Paul rushed first, and Agripian crossed their blades. Agripian moved calmly around each of Paul's strikes. Paul was fueled by rage and thought nothing would stop them. Paul yelled and screamed as he tried to break through Agripian's defences.
"Fuck you, you bastard! You killed my friend!"
"I was under orders and threat of my death and my family's death."
"So what? Wait, what?"
"You knew. And yet your still here."
They continued to battle, each strike holding everything in their blades. They would catch each other each and every while, spraying blood over the throne room, staining everything deeply. For two hours they fought, and the Battle of the Bloodstained Throne would be a draw.
As Zeno chased them out, Cansoulian was knocked out by Ultas.
"Zeno, thank you for the warning. Now why did you betray your kind?"
"They have betrayed me. That bastard Samuel should have killed the bitch Sorrian."
"So then are you offering anything?"
"I'm not offering my service. Just a guarantee that I won't let them beat you. At least not for now."
Paul, Rachel, and Zeno would then ride back quietly. They all had their secrets now.
