Chapter 2 - Moon Phase 2 He is incredible

(EL's POV )

"El, let's start." it seems like he's anger also transpired towards me seeing a pile of books stacked on my desk. I scratched my neck and took a deep breath. "What's the matter? That's too much for you?" I smile at him.

"Nah, I can handle it." I folded up my sleeves and started doing the work.

The twins were so amazed seeing how fast I was reading the books.

"Dad, he's cheating!" three more books were added to Seven.

"Mind your own business." his father scolded him; I saw regret on Seven's face instantly. I just smile at him. It only took me an hour to finish reading all of the books. Uncle Rankin not surprised, he knows my ability and skills.

To prove that I learned something from the books, Uncle Rankin handed me the test sheet for me to answer. Same with pile of books, it is also two rims of bond papers pages.

"Your time begins now." I wink at the twins and begin to show off. I browsed through the paper, twirling the pen around my fingers while I write down my answers with ease. The twins' faces say it all, they were amazed. By the time the timer stops, I already finished answering the papers.

"You're a monster!"

"You... You.." Steve struggled finding the words to say.

"How did you do that?!"

"You know your father guys, he's the best mentor." the two stood up once more. Uncle Rankin was quick to push them down to their seats. I proceed to the bookshelves and search for the book that interests my curiosity.

"Dad, how did he do that?" I heard them.

"What do you expect from your next Alpha? Weak?"

"He is incredible."

"He is more than that Steve."

"I want to be just like him."

"Then remain seated and finish your work."

There it is, I pulled the book from the shelf. Documented records about the cases of werewolves losing control of themselves. My mother was one of them.

I walked outside the terrace; tomorrow is full moon. It was also full moon when my Father was left without a choice and killed my Mother. He did that in order to protect me, all of its horror came rushing back to me.

My own mother tried to kill me? That's insane right? Tss.

I spent the rest evening reading the documents.

***

It's early in the morning and I'm getting ready to join my father in his work. Back when I was a kid, I used to ask my Father to bring me to his work.

But now? I'd rather train martial arts with my Uncle.

The Butler reminded me that my father is already waiting in the car. One of his assistants opened the door at the passenger seat. So, I'll be sitting with my father then. His back leaned and eyes closed, I could tell that something is bothering him. He probably had a fight with Tasha again. Uncle Rankin sits in front beside the driver, he greets me with a nod, I did the same thing in return.

The sun has just shown itself from the hills bringing rich golden rays from the eastern boundaries, the road was covered with thick fog making it difficult to traverse the terrain.

My father and his older brother does not talk a lot to each other. It's not like they hate each other, they probably weren't that close growing up, I guess. They talk about wolf business and that's it, no small talks. I didn't make an effort to break the silence, the silence didn't bother me anyway.

Our family's bodyguards are in another vehicles, one in front of us and another trailing from behind. The safety of the Grand Alpha will always be their main priority. We're about to cross the territory known to have notorious attacks so security needs to be heightened.

A familiar scent has caught my attention, scum bloods. During daylight? That can't be possible.

My father opened his eyes and looked outside.

"They managed to compromise our security Tyros." Uncle Rankin warns my father. He snarled and looked at the way where the scent was coming from. My father signaled the driver to stop. He stepped outside.

I and Uncle Rankin followed him, his bodyguards quickly surrounded us. On our left was a ravine leading to thick forest and on our right was a hill, that is where the scent was peaking. The ground was still damp from the heavy rains yesterday making it harder to smell the surroundings.

My father stood still, snarling, looking like a predator rather than a prey about to be ambushed. He is a self-assured man unlike anyone else, probably why he became the Grand Alpha over his brothers.

Suddenly, poison darts came firing at us, or is it? "Silver!" yelled Uncle Rankin. The scum bloods know our weakness. A silver can do more damage on us more than any other weapon of the same size. Tss. Uncle Rankin dragged me back inside the car while my father made a pursuit on the hills accompanied by a few guards. The firing stopped shortly after.

Arguing with my Uncle about helping my father, I suddenly stop. There he is… My father was wiping his bloody mouth while reappearing from the hills, his hands replaced with claws. Bloodstains were barely visible on his black suit.

"What caused them to attack us during daylight?" Uncle Rankin asked my father.

"It must be the serum." his hands slowly turning back to its human form.

"We need to do something about this, or they will grow stronger by the minute." Serum? What do they mean by that?

We arrived in front of the building. The aids were lined up bowing their heads as we walked in the middle. I will never get use to these pleasantries.

A huge seal of my father's company was placed inside the reception desk. Van Mendevil Corporation, A werewolf central industrial Monopolies of Business. My father has an almost visible aura as he walked, his scent will scare off anyone even the biggest predator.

The elevator led us directly to the Grand Alpha's office. The bodyguard's stayed outside leaving us three inside. An old man greeted our arrival, Lupoz, his secretary.

"Our territory has been breached." he takes off his bloodstained suit. "Any reports of the incident Lupoz?" his deep voice crackled with evident anger.

"I already sent an investigation team to evaluate the area." Lupoz calmly responds.

"You are supposed to anticipate this kind of attacks." his voice getting louder yet controlled. "Gather more of our men, I want every part of our territory checked."

I understood why my father is so upset. Other packs of werewolves have been killed because of these kinds of attacks. They would kill the alpha of the pack first, mostly by ambush and wipe out its remaining kin. A few number alpha's would've perished on that hill, but my father is no ordinary wolf, he's the strongest of all. The Grand Alpha. Those blood scums definitely stood no chance against him, especially during full moon.

"Follow me." Uncle Rankin reached to me using telepathy. I looked his way and followed him. He led me on top of the building. The sun glared making my eyes squint. How were they able to attack us with this amount of daylight?

"It's a good thing that Tasha's not around, or she'll make your father more pissed." he smiled at me while lighting up his cigarette.

"I heard you mentioned about a serum. What do you mean by that?"

"I knew you'd ask me that." a smile appeared on his face. "Numerous reports have indicated that the vampires are making a serum that will enable them to walk under the sun." His smile quickly disappeared. "Its success wasn't yet verified but seeing what happened on that hill is enough to confirm that they've done it."

"Is it the humans? They discovered it for them?" Why even bother to ask. That's the only thing humans are good at. Shit.

Uncle Raiden inhales on his cigarette.

"They're still stupid." While exhaling the smoke completely. "Let's head back."

We headed straight to the conference; the subordinate alphas were already there representing their corresponding packs. They were summoned here by the Grand alpha, my father.

Uncle Rankin guided me to our seats while we wait for my father's arrival.

I could tell on their faces that they know who I am. They better start showing me respect for when my time comes, they will be sniffing my ass being their next alpha.

The door opened soon after, the Grand Alpha's aura fills the room immediately. They rose up in the chair to gave they're greeting respect to the Grand Alpha. I noticed that he's wearing different clothes now, but his face still looked pissed. His guards followed him from behind. Guests took a seat after him.

I listened intently to their suggestions on how to stop the killings of mad werewolves.
