"Pearl?"
She turned to look at him. She looked at him rather in a strange way.
He approached her, taking her by the arm.
"Are you okay? Did you get hurt?"
He examined her arm and face.
She pulled her arm away from him like he was some stranger. He looked at her, astonished. But then, it dawned on him that he was the only one who knew the truth. That she was his and no one else's after she took the stone.
Moreover, Pearl in her conscious state hadn't been in contact with Desmond. So...who is he?
She rose irritated but she didn't want to be rude.
"I'm fine."
She said simply.
Desmond because half heartbroken. The other half was happy that she was still alive. Plus, he had hope that she would accept him and their fate.
His eyes because sad and weary and he looked at the ground. He wished he hadn't forgotten this truth. He gave her a sad smile, calmly.
"That's good."
Her face lit up when she sighted Aliya completely forgetting Desmond.
