So I felt my blood run cold when I heard that sentence from the speakers. I was definitely to afraid to actually respond at first, I just laid there in silence, looking around me. I heard the door open up and the whole room just lit up, blinding me for a moment before I slowly adjusted my eyes.
The room was completely white, and I saw a stranger in a doctor coat wheel in an old tv on a high metal shelf, and stopped it by the foot of the bed i was in. I stared at them but knew even if i begged them to let me go, they never would.
He plugged it in and then started it, and a black and white mesh just started up as they turned up the volume some and then left the room, I even heard the click from the lock. Then the screen flickered and the channel changed to a man, in a suit but his face was hidden. He had his leg crossed over the other and leaned back, leaning his head on his two fingers as he was facing me. It seemed to be live, because then he spoke.
"Kimberly. Welcome." he started, and it was the same voice from the speakers. I tensed up, staring at the screen and looking again around the room.
"There is to way out, until I choose to release you, there's no point in trying. but if you want to, then be my guest. Go ahead, I'll wait." he said so calmly, I could even hear the last of that sentence, he smiled. I tried again, looking at the straps in the bed but I couldn't get any of my limbs loose. I then looked at the radius around the bed but no, everything was just empty surfaces, and nothing I could reach anyway. I sighed frustrated and turned my gaze at the screen again.
He chuckled, and clapped his hands together.
"So lets begin this, shall we dearie?" he suggested as he lifted his hand to gesture, and I see something pop up on the screen in writing. "Diana" it read.
"Do you know who this is?" he asked, and then waited for me.
-"No, I don't know who that is. And I don't care who it is. I want to leave." I said feeling my eyes tearing up. I was getting very upset, with good reasoning.
-"Kimberly, after this talk, I will let you go. But I want you to answer my questions and listen to what I say, is my sole conditions. I can even have someone removing the straps, give you beverage and necessities." He said just as calmly as before. I stared at him for a second then really thought about it, "How bad could it be, he's probably just one of those weirdos that wants me to listen to a lot of their stuff and then just let me go, as long as its not harmful, then how bad could it be?" I thought and then nodded slowly looking a little more calmer, still softly sniffling. He gestured again, a little differently and then someone unlocks the door and walks in. It was the same doctor from before, and they undid my straps and I slowly sat up and took my hand to my wrist to massage it slightly. then they leave and comes back with a plate of decent looking food and a plastic cup of water.
"I don't know who Diana is." I responded placing the food plate in front of me in the bed and picking up the fork and smelling it before ingesting it. "Cant be too safe" as I always say.
He cleared his throat a bit and then resumed the sitting position he was in and continues.
"Diana Riverwood, is your biological mother. Your father left with you when you were young, removing you from her family secrets to place you in a safe, environment with a new woman he then married, making you believe that she was your mother. Haven't you ever felt that something wasn't wrong with you even if it technically wasn't?" he then said and I almost choked on the food I ate.
"What?" I asked and then thought about what he was saying. "Diana..." I thought, remembering a photo i found in the attic at our family house when I was 7. It was a picture of my father, and a woman next to him. But he had always explained that it was someone from his side of the family, but never specified who. "Have he been lying to me, all this time?" I then thought but was interrupted by the man on the screen.
"Let me guess, you have a hint of who she is but cant place her completely, or is she like a puzzle piece that never fitted where she was placed? I know you are a smart girl, Kimberly."
I sighed and fidgeted with the blanket a little, shrugging.
-"I cant say your right, but I cant say your entirely wrong either."
He nodded, I could tell because I could see the shape of his head but not the face, it was like a black shadow, or veil would be a better example.
-"Good, you're letting it sink in. So lets move on from Diana to your real grandmother, Dolores, Dee for short. She's the biggest reason your father ran with you in the first place. Because she's the one with the real secret. She's a witch, you see." he said and lights up a cigar, and when he did i could start to see the features of his face.
"A witch, seriously? You believe in superstitious stuff like that?" I blurted out and scoffed.
"Your story is getting less true now-" I began and he interrupts me.
-"Its not make-believe as you seem to think it is, its your reality. Your father wished that the generation skipped you like your mother, but he was very wrong. your meant to be one of the strongest one in you generation after all. But there's one way, I can get you to believe me." he said, and its like he snuffed out all noise around me, drowning me in silence. Then my eyes widens as i see his eyes, slowly starting to glow a dark red color.
"I'm the devil, after all." he said, and gave me the creepiest grin, making my skin crawl all over.
