Chapter 36 - Chapter Thirty-Six: Whatever it Takes...

We had split our forces to fight on the two fronts. Anne took a team into the city: Anne, Lana, Lily, Jack, and Yui all went to stop the invading demons and save as many lives possible.

'Sandra!'

'Shut up! I know Zen,' everytime Hades attempted to get behind me or Stephen, she blew up the ground he stood on and whenever he came at her, she'd blow up herself since she was more resilient towards explosions to a certain degree.

On the other side of the specter, both Stephen and I had been giving it our all to keep up with Hades and wear him down. We could keep up with him, but he was slightly faster than what we could be ourselves.

'I SEE! SO YOU'RE RIGHT TO BE CONFIDENT,' Hades had a sword materialize in his right hand. It was of pure light, 'I took this from an angel,' using that sword, he concentrated electricity from above into it before dispersing it.

In consequence, it force both Stephen and I to retreat to Sandra while Stephen lost control of his blade and brought it back.

'We gotta be more cautious now!' Sandra snapped his fingers and explode the ground infront of them, making snow rise up and act like a wall.

'Assuming he doesn't have hyper hearing, sense of smell, or x-ray vision we have time to plan,' I felt his presence behind us, 'He's invisible!'

Sandra screamed.

Quickly, both Stephen and I turned to see Hades with her wrapped in her arms, 'You caused to many problems for me missy,'he started to get static.

Looking at Stephen, he nodded at me. Jumping up, I came down and landed on his blade. Letting my hands be covered by my gauntlets, I kept myself sturdy on the blade.

'2nd Technique,' Stephen pulled his hand out his pocket and pointed forward, 'Demon Style, Foward Surge.'

The sword with me on it now took off at tremendous speed. Now in range of Hades and Sandra, the sword halted and launched me flying. Grabbing Hades by the horns, I slowed myself by making myself heavy. With myself hitting the ground, I lifted and threw Hades.

Needing to catch his balance, Hades had stopped what he was doing and threw Sandra into me.

I caught her, 'You alright sis?'

Her face light up, 'I never thought I'd hear you call me that.'

I dropped her, 'Brother, protect her!'

'Hey! I'm the oldest here, I should be giving the orders!'

'No time,' I caught Hades head-on rush with my hands. His strength was greater than mine but my power was lasting. His hands were about the same size as mine, so I was able to hold him there for a little bit.

'WEAK CREATURE! YOU'LL JUST DIE IN VAIN,' He grinned before picking my up, tightly holding my hands, and slamming me into the ground and crushing my chest with his hooves. Before he could continue, Stephen cut his arms and forced him to back away. Sliding in, Sandra placed me on her back and put me behind Stephen on the ground.

'Anything broken? You breathing fine?'

'My powers will heal my wounds,' I said hoarsely. My rib cage felt smashed. My lungs felt punctured. If it weren't for my power, I would be a dead man now.

'LETS PLAY CATCH,' a large boulder came flying at us.

'3rd Technique, Demon Style, HORIZONTAL SLASH,' Stephen's blade hadn't just cut through the rock, but it create a ripple through the air that traveled towards Hades.

Barely dodging, Hades lost the tips of his horns. 'Tch, that's it.' Spikes had risen from the soil and penetrated all of us. We were now suspended midair. For safe measures, Hades repeated the process until we couldn't move to struggle. 'Pissed me off,' Hades leapt with tremendous strength towards the city. On this day, Sandra, Stephen, and Zander Hope had perished.

Anne felt a disturbance, but many were still in danger and she couldn't change focus. 'Yui! With me! Jack and Lily! Go that direction!'

Jack and Lily disappeared onto his ice path.

'Bloodriddened Strike,' a demon that was plunging down at a child got pierced by Yui. Closing her hand, blood spikes protruded out the demon, 'Damn devil.'

Taking out several groups of demons, Anne's hair was a mess. Her beautiful blonde hair that trailed her back, was splattered with blood. Looking at her bloodied staff, she spun around and blocked the incoming attack, 'Hades,' she said with hate.

'Killing my comrades are we?'

'Where's Zen and the others! Tell me you wrenched being!'

Leaping back from Anne's attack, he laughed, 'They were so weak! All three impaled by me,' he readied himself, 'So watcha gonna do abo-' his arm got chopped off.

Standing there behind him, a angel like figure; in a pure white dress, bare feet in a pool of blood, she had wings as graceful as an angels. Her weapon however, was the complete opposite. A scythe long and black, the blade covered in blood, dripping.

'An angel more monstrous than I? This will be fu-' his other arm was cut off.

Anne had let rage judge her movements.

'Huh,' Hades regrew his arms in a blink of an eye, 'Guess I'll have to be more careful now, shouldn't I?'

'I just want you dead,' swiping at Hades, the force from the scythe cut threw the air and traveled towards him.

Dodging it, Hades smirked, 'Not the power of the champion-are you something more?'

'Perish,' a bunch of hour glasses appeared behind her. 'Inner Collapse,' the hour glasses flew at Hades.

Smashing the first one, his arm imploded in on itself. Aware of the attack, he did his best to throw objects into the path and dodge the others.

With the sudden commotion, Anne had snuck in for a swipe and cut at him.

'Such power! But I'm stronger,' using his horns, he blocked the attack, grabbed Anne by the legs, and flung her into a wall. Now looming over her, Hades raised his hoove, 'Time to join that boy.'

Anne had raised her hand, 'Time Reverse-' before her very eyes, everything that had occured was rewinding.

Looking down, Anne saw she went back in time and was in her previous outfit.

'Ok guys! Let's split up! Anne, take Yu-'

'No. Zen, it'll just be you and I who fights Hades, everyone go.'

'Anne, you can't be serious!? It be better to conquer and di-'

Anne had let her wings spread out wide and reverted to her form she was in when she fought Hades. Clean if blood this time, she held her scythe towards Hades, 'You will lose.'

Yui, Sandra, Stephen, Jack and Lily had all took a look at us before departing Elis Island on Jack's ice path.

I looked at Anne, 'What, happened.'

'Stop talking, join me.'

I could tell Anne was scarred by something. Thinking back to when I went berserk, I closed my eyes. Opening them back up, I felt more powerful, like when I had fought Eisenberg, but this time I was calm.

Hades crossed his arms an started laugh, 'The angel champion and demon champion against an actual demon. I can't wait to dress myself in your blood,' he smirked.
