I nervously stood under the alter. Straightening my bowtie, I looked back at Jack and Stephen.
'Guys, I'm very nervous,' I whispered to them.
'Dude, Anne's family isn't that scary. Your fine,' Jack fixed his hair.
'Hes not wrong,' Stephen looked at the side that our family would be seated and only saw Sandra and Lana and some boy.
'It's just, getting married, I never saw this coming,' Zen looked down the aisle.
A flower girl appeared. I recognized the girl to be one of Anne's cousins. After littering the walkway with flowers, she had joined the pastor and stood beside him. Up next was two girls in a pink dress.
Yui and T had their hair put up into a bun with flowers in it. Before continuing down the aisle, Yui gestured her hand at someone behind the wall. Revealing herself, Anne had taken Yui's hand.
In a black dress that trailed along the floor, she wore a black veil and held a bouquet of red Rose's, white daisys, and yellow sunflowers.
For some odd reason, those flowers seemed to be a favorite of someone elses. That's what Blood made me feel anyways.
Escorting Anne up to the alter, Yui was whispering to her. Reaching the alter, Yui went to the side.
'Ahem, shall we get this wedding going?'
Anne and I nodded.
'Today, we're all gathered under the miracle that gods blessed us, with the marriage of Zander Hope and Annabelle Sullivan. These two have been through a lot in the time they knew eachother, and than-'
'I'm gonna be honest Mr.Pastor, we don't care about god or any of that, we just needed someone to marry us,' Anne said honestly.
'Of course. Does the Groom have vows?'
'Anne, I don't know where I would be without you. To find out so much of myself, yet I think I would rather be oblivious to truth if it meant I could have you for eternity. In this unforgiving world, my only gift was you,' I smiled at her.
'Does the bride have any vows to exchange?'
'Zen, my love for you is unimaginable. To think I was a scared little girl who was blessed to be part of your future. Whether it be planned or not, I'm glad I got to be with you,' a tear escaped from under her veil.
Stephen had looked at Jack and whispered, 'Why do they sound like they're dying.'
Jack shrugged.
'Zander Hope, do you take, Annabelle Sullivan as the one who will bless you with love and forgiveness through hell and back?'
'Without doubt.'
'And Annabelle Sullivan, do you, take Zander Hope to be the light for when you see a perilous darkness?'
'I already did.'
'Then you may kiss.'
Lifting Anne's veil, her face was wrinkly, as if she aged greatly.
'Anne!' The entire room was panicked.
'I know, I'm old and ugly,' she looked off to the side.
'Anne, I didn't fall in love with your looks. I feel in love with you,' bringing her up close to my lips, we kissed.
Pulling away, Anne smiled, 'Thanks, Zen,' she went limp in my arms.
'I'm sorry,' as I fell down to my knees with Anne in my arms, I cried into her lifeless body, 'I'm sorry that I wasn't strong enough! It should've been me! Not you who dies!' my cries drowned out the panicked let out in the once quiet room.
Outside the orphanage, I looked through the window. I could see Johnathon with his wide smile. Laughter was what he was blessed. What my family had done was still wrong. What the government had done was wrong. In this world of wrongs and rights, only those of our heart will make a difference. Meanwhile, I am not that person. With Anne gone, I saw no reason to live, but even before she died, she gave me one more wish. To raise our child. Before Anne past away, she gave birth. When we defeated Hades, Anne had told me she was pregnant. Afterwards she gave birth. She had also told me how she was dying.
'Sir? What are you doing here?'
I turned to the woman, 'I'm here to adopt someone to be the sibling of my single child.'
'Oh, come in then.'
Entering, Johnathon saw me, 'You? What are you doing back here?'
'That's who I'm here to adopt,' I looked at him.
Walking along the sidewalk, Johnathon tugged at my jacket, 'Where's other lady, Yui?'
'Busy.'
'And where you taking me?'
'I thought I told you, to raise you with my daughter.'
Johnathon's eyes widened, 'Am I the older or younger sibling?'
'You'll be her older,' I pat his head, 'So be a good example for her, yeah?'
'I will!'
Closing the diary, Johnathon stood up. Looking around him, the world was brought to ruins. 'Yo, Annie!'
A girl with black hair and a slender body climbed from behind Johnathon, 'Yeah bro?'
'Are we going the right way?'
Annie took a look at her map, 'It says that up ahead is where the shelter should be.'
Johnathon wore a scarf similar to Zen's. Pulling up to cover his mouth as sand blew into his face, he lowered it, 'Ok Annie, let's go kill us some demons, yeah?'
Annie grabbed Johnathon's hand and emerged with him. 'Of course.'
What I thought was a gift from a man who saved us from a great threat, just put a heavy burden on us kids, leaving us alone and forgotten.
