MYS 20
...
This is my debt that must be paid. Especially after I devoured a plate of Nasi Padang voraciously. Where I don't have money to just replace it if I'm determined to just go.
But I also can't stand the atmosphere that I think is no longer conducive.
"Edi, when will this event end?" I shouted when I saw Edi appear in the audience.
"About 2 hours," said Edi briefly and then fled somewhere swallowed by a sea of people.
While Ebi beside me stood in his position, busy writing non-stop.
In my heart, I pray to be released from this situation soon. And it worked. However, God answered in a very unpleasant way.
From the right side, someone patted me on the back, I automatically turned around because of a reflex. I was surprised. My father stood right next to me with a look as if he couldn't believe his daughter had fallen into the abyss of disobedience.
"Anggi...go home right now." Father hissed in a very clear voice I could hear.
Before long, I said goodbye to Ebi if my father caught me and would be dragged home by force if I didn't obey. From Ebi's nod in response and a sign of understanding and concern, I walked away following my father away from the field. Before actually leaving, I could see Ebi shifting closer to the camera in my previous position.
On the way home my father didn't say anything else. The last word was to tell me to get on his old Megapro motorbike. Drove on a fairly busy afternoon street at a moderate speed. That's my father, even though he's angry, he doesn't get carried away by emotions like driving a motorbike at the speed of a racer like a class would do. Maybe that's what separates teenagers from adults.
I used to be able to compose sentences of excuse when I was accused of being guilty, but this time, I was caught unable to do anything. Whatever my defense seems to be just disappearing, it doesn't work as a self-defense weapon.
"Anggi..." my father's voice called after I finished taking a shower.
"For that, Anggi apologized," I said, confused myself.
"Sorry for what?"
"Played far away."
"It's been said before if you want to play after school, let me know. You can text first. In order not to worry the parents, the child will come home until the afternoon. Can you?" Dad's voice was heavy and firm, making my guts shrink. The series of words in my mind that I had just compiled immediately dispersed.
"Yes, yes. Next time Anggi won't do it again. Promise."
"There's no need to use any promises if the previous ones can't be kept." added my father, still in a tone that made my guts shrink even more.
"Fine. Well." ok I give up. If I had faced my father, I would have lost automatically.
"It must be so."
"Yeah yeah."
"But how come the game is so far away?" asked my father probingly.
"Anggi is not playing Yah but helping friends create YouTube content. Not bad. Anggi can get extra pocket money from it because his YouTube channel can earn." my story. Finally, there is an opening for me to tell the truth.
"Yes. But why is the content like that?"
"That's it. Edi, Anggi's friend is covering local culture, and there happens to be a Dolalak competition. After all, there is also a male dancer so it can be used as comparison material. I'm clear again.
"School work?"
"Not really."
"Just for fun?"
"Not really, Dad. I know that nowadays you can make money through the internet. You can create youtube content like Anggi's friends do, sell it in online shops, and so on, Dad." My story is passionate.
"I know. But why are you the one asking for help? Aren't there a lot of boys in the class?"
"That's because Anggi's bicycle tire is leaking. Well, it needs to be replaced. Anggi doesn't want to be bothered by father so he has to accept the job." I'm in a hurry. Unlucky. Why does my mouth always have to be honest?
"No, it's not. Anggi is father's son. Parents must provide for their children's needs."
"Both, Dad. Both the inner tube and the outer tire are damaged."
"How come? Where did Anggi take her bicycle until it broke down at the same time?"
"It's okay, okay?" The next second I regretted it.
Instead of believing what I was told, my father took me along to school to see my bike.
We arrived at the parking lot before sunset. And the school was still quite busy because the Pencak silat students were still practicing. As well as the Rohis children who were also living in the dormitory.
There were still preparations for the monthly recitation. Although the school foundation is not under the auspices of the pesantren, the school's spiritual activities can be said to be very active.
In addition to the support of the teachers, there is also support from residents around the school who are very enthusiastic about their children taking part in the rotating committee for monthly recitation events.
I already guessed that my father couldn't possibly believe that I had thrown out a leaking bicycle tire.
My father is still standing firmly in front of me waiting for an answer.
"Well... that's okay. Later, Anggi will replace it with Anggi's savings." I said trying to be honest.
"Are you daddy's son?" Hearing those words made my heart skip a beat.
"The bicycle tire is missing." In the end, my mouth betrayed me too.
"How can the story be lost?"
"Honestly, Anggi doesn't know. Well, when I arrived at the parking lot, it was like this. Anggi didn't know who did it."
"Have you ever done anything wrong to another child?"
"No. Anggi is not that stubborn child." In my defense, I don't accept being accused by my parents.
"Continue?"
"If Anggi knew who it was and what was wrong, Anggi would have told his father," I said lowering my head. Don't know what else to do. I feel like a thief caught in the act.
"That's it. We'd better take the bike home. I'll fix it later." take dad while taking my bike out of school. Go home.
You could say I'm a child who still wants to be pampered, defended, loved, treated as well as a loving parent treats their child. However, for today's incident, I feel unwilling. Witnessing with my own eyes my father brought my pathetic bicycle home and placed it in the backyard as a sign that it could not be used until it was repaired. My tears came out on their own.
"Anggi, I'm sorry. I can't keep the bike my father bought." My patter is unstoppable.
"Already, done. Starting tomorrow, I'll go to school with you." close dad ends my day.
I'm sad because I know how my father was looking for a bicycle for me. Even though I was able to buy a new bicycle. My father insisted on teaching me how to appreciate what my parents gave me in the form of a used bicycle which was no less good than buying a new one, only the rims were rusty, the weak point. The rest is good and easy to use.
