"You promised to leave her alone so why are you interfering now," Ray asked Chris.
He had gone to meet him after seeing Camilla off.
Chris picked up his wine glass and took a sip. His cold eyes looked up at Ray who was seating right across him.
"Are you listening to me, Chris "
Chris nodded.
"Then tell me why you are trying to get close to Camilla again?"
"Cause I think I still have that right," he said back at Ray.
"You and I know you lost that right along time ago. And Camilla doesn't even remember who you were to her anymore"
"So am going to remind her who I was to her "
Ray smiled, " But you know it's impossible, that's what all the doctors said "
"Do I look like I ever believed them " Chris placed down the glass he was holding.
"The moment I laid eyes on her again, I promised myself I would do anything just to get her back " Chris added.
Ray told him it was just being foolish and all he could do was leave her alone. But Chris didn't want to listen to anything he was saying.
Chris got up walking away. Ray was left alone sitting there, wondering what he was going to do to get Camilla back to him.
Chris was right he had all the privilege but Camilla didn't even remember they once had a relationship so how was he going to convince her that they did.
"Chris " Ray turned calling.
Chris stopped and looked back at where Ray was sitting.
"Just don't hurt her again," he said.
"I won't " he replied walking away.
He got into his car with a depressed look on his face. He knew Ray was right, Camilla didn't know who he was anymore but his heart couldn't take it anymore. After the accident, he had stayed far away from her when he found out she didn't have a clue who he was.
He laughed, she had protected all her memories about everybody else but lost only those that involved him. For the first in his life, Chris had cried like a newborn. Even his parents got worried about his condition.
He stalked her through her recovery and even when she had restarted her life again after the accident. Her parents made sure to seal away any trace of him in her life .
Ray kept informing him about her whereabouts through the years. He took over his parents' company becoming a famous figure in the business area as she became successful in her career too.
He yearned for her that it sometimes drove him crazy so he buried himself in work not to think about her . Then a chance came when Ray had told him that Camilla was going to attend the get-together after persuading her, so he went there just to see her.
All his emotions he had put away had jumped right out after their eyes met. She looked away and that's when he knew she didn't remember a thing about them.
Ray had given him a chance after leading her out when she was drunk.
She looked up when he came closer to her , her face held a smile . He knew it was because she was drunk but he didn't care that smile alone was enough for him to have hope again so he decided to try anything in his power to get her back.
She fell asleep after he had moved her to his car. Her apartment looked neat and clean just like her.
After putting her in bed, Chris decided to stay over so they could talk in the morning but her attitude the next day made it impossible.
"Take me to her apartment," he told his driver as he laid back.
He opened his eyes again after his driver announced that they had arrived.
"Bring me a change of clothes, tomorrow morning," he told his driver.
"Yes, sir "
"And don't tell my mother anything "
His driver nodded and drove off. Chris got up to her apartment and knocked.
"Coming " he heard her sweet voice say.
Camilla opened her door to see Chris standing in her doorway.
"You again " she exclaimed.
"Can I come in?" he asked.
Camilla stood there like she thinking about what to do so Chris walked past her getting in.
"I didn't say you could," she said closing the door.
"But you didn't stop me either," he said back.
Camilla followed him to the living room. She had been watching a movie and eating dinner when she heard someone at her door.
Chris took a seat and waited for her to take hers. Her big black cat jumped on his laps folding itself in a ball.
He caressed its fur and looked up at Camilla.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"Can I stay here for a awhile?" he said.
She was silent for a while after his request. Was he crazy or just lost.
"You have a home I suppose, so why would you come to me?"
"I had a fight with my parents and they threw me out " he lied.
Camilla burst out and laughed, " Your parents threw you out of the house? "
He nodded with a serious face.
She stopped laughing and gazed at him again, "Okay, so you're serious. Any way you could go to a hotel or a friends place "
"My friend is out of the country and I hate hotels "
Camilla frowned listening to his answer, was he serious among all the people in his life he had chosen her to burden with his presence.
Her eyes moved down to her cat, he liked him.
"Don't sleep here like last time, use the other room " she said getting up.
"Okay," he smiled watching her disappear to her room.
