And so the two continued, a little boy and a large man, deep within the forest. The two swing their swords and shed their sweat, tell their stories and eat their fill, laugh their hearts out and bathe in the warmth of the spring sun. Life is good.
To the boy, this time spent is a reprieve from the loneliness of his desolate life, a short span of freedom from his permanent captivity, a taste of adventure amid his monotonous days in the tower. These moments, he is free, he is a young child learning like all other young children, he is in the company of his first friend.
