Chapter 19

I turned as slowly as I could towards Arlan, wishing immensely that before I made my full turn to face him, he would have changed his mind about constantly interrogating me. But I had no such luck obviously. I had turned around to see him, arms folded firmly across his broad chest and resting against an ice cream counter that had been filled to the brim with strawberry flavor just some moments ago.
I gulped, my mind filled with the horrors that I had no choice but to start spilling soon.
I was extremely thankful and grateful to Arlan when he stood up for me against those high school students. I honestly did not know what I would have done if it was not for Arlan who put an end to their nonsense. I obviously knew that he was going to have questions and all but I was really hoping he would put it off till another day and another... and another till he forgot about it all entirely.
