A week had past and I was settling into my new situation. It wasn't so awkward now. I had told Jonas and Miss Jane everything. Grace and her family were helping me look for Benita. I told Derek to inform Mrs. Miles about Walter and his thirst for blood, which he did. He made Mrs. Miles leave so she doesn't get involved and Walter kills her as well. He's a psycho and we were not taking chances. I got a restraint order from the police department of the two towns against Walter, just in case. Things were going well. I was still at Jonas's place, as I refused to move in with any of my newly discovered family.
I was with Grace, Miss Jane, Jonas and Martha at a table enjoying some drinks. Miss Jane got some new workers, since her canteen was booming and she couldn't handle it alone now.
"It's your birthday the day after tomorrow," Grace said, after taking a sip.
I looked surprised, "You know?"
She smiled, "Of course, I'm your mother."
I smiled too.
