*2 days and 15 cups of dirt water they call coffee later*
The truck came to a halt about 50 kilometers away from the Wones base, then Zion shouted,
"It's time to show them why you don't defect from American Central!" Turning towards us he continues, "Snipers, you know what to do. Everyone! follow the plan!"
"Yes Sir!" We shouted back
The 3 fellow snipers and I nodded to Zion, as we jumped out of the truck, and immediately started sprinting in different directions towards the trees surrounding The Wones base. I took an up to a tree north, as Dave did west, Avery did south and Bob did East.
"I'm ready from the north," I say into the mic
"I'm as ready up from the west," Dave said
"Roger Dodger from the south," Avery said as cheesy as ever
"locked and loaded from the east," Bob said. (He's not always enthused on these missions but he's a great sniper.)
"Okay, good we move out at your say so," The commander says to the mic
"Roger," we all said.
I tightened the silencer on my sniper.
"I got the first one nearing the left." Hearing murmurs from the others it seems they already found their target. Lowering my head near my scope, eyeing my unlucky target.
SWIP
My gun hardly makes a whistle with these new teched-out silencers
Pulling back the lever, CLICK, pull forward, and smack, shell out, I look back into my scope.
The target fell in a way that it looked like he sat down.
"Are you done?" Zion said.
"Yes we're done, I'll see if I can find what's going on inside from this angle," I said, lowering my eye back into the scope. Pressing a nob on my technical scope it zooms forward allowing me to look inside their base. They were practically defenseless they used an old prison as their base thus the walls and lookouts.
I look around to find 2 men with ARs in front of the arsenal guarding it while talking to each other and a few more people walking around it seems too quiet, but they were always short on men.
"There are 5 people on the ground, 2 with guns, their guns seem to be automatic." I say into the mic, "The other 3 have handguns in their holster but only one of the three handguns is automatic from what I can see"
"Ok," Zion replied back into the coms, looking away momentarily from the base I look to find the rest of the infantry unit.
The men and women in the unit ran from the trucks, turning to run towards the base as they charged towards the door they used zip lines to get over the wall. Adjusting my sniper I lower myself right back into my scope hoping to see what's going on in case they need assistance.
As some started firing their weapons at the people on the ground, one of the guards looked like he said something into a mic of some sort, "On the ground, they have comms active." I say in a warning. Adjusting my weapon I aim toward him, The man falls getting shot by one of our units but in an attempt to save his life he tries to run,
"He's in my sights," Dave says as he takes the shot. The guard dies from impact. While that was going on the unit split with some going into the arsenal with the others loitering making sure no one is home.
"Doesn't it seem a bit too quiet? It's like they all ran away or knew we were coming and hid...." Commander said into the mic leaving us on a long run on,
"It's a setup." he said before there was a slight pain in my neck and I started to fall over trying to hold onto my consciousness I fell over "...It's a setup.... they were wai..ting for us, get out of there .....now," I said.
And then the whole world went black
