Chapter 4 - Mind

Dumbledore found himself standing outside a small cottage. With a garden at the front.

Looking around he saw they were at the edge of a forest and in the garden were three people. A man in his thirties, a woman in her late twenties, and a small girl whose age he guessed at about three. The man had short brown hair and a close-cropped beard he stood at about six foot with and he wore a red robe with gold edges. The woman on the other hand was about five and a half feet tall with long red hair and a gorgeous face. She wore a blue summer dress and a straw hat on her head. The small girl who was being chased by her father looked like a younger version of Eleanor without the yellow and orange streaks in her hair. She wore something similar to her mother except her dress was yellow and had sunflower patterns on it.

Sitting down on a bench that was built into the house he just watched them as they played.

The woman who he suspected was Morgana was laughing watching her daughter and lover play around.

Running around the Apple tree planted on the right side of the garden Eleanor tried to get away from her father but he caught her.

Pulling her into his embrace she giggled. As a gust of wind passed them Eleanors hat flew off her head. She tried to catch it but failed. Just then Arthur caught it and placed it on his daughter's head.

"Peidiwch â gadael iddo hedfan i ffwrdd nawr.

(Don't let it fly away now.)" he said chuckling.

"Wnes i ddim dad (I won't daddy)" she answered giggling.

Looking over to his right there he saw another bench and on it was Eleanor. She was sitting there longingly watching the scene play out before her.

Getting up he slowly walked over and sat down beside her. She looked at him and asked in English "Pourquoi? (Why?)" it was just one word but behind it were so many emotions so much hurt and pain so much sorrow.

"Je suis désolé, mais je ne sais pas (I'm sorry, but I don't know.)" He said compassionately. "Mais je pense qu'ils ne voudraient pas que vous vous complaisiez dans le désespoir mais que vous viviez. Vous devez savoir que nos proches ne nous quittent plus vraiment. Ils restent avec nous dans nos mémoires et dans nos cerfs.

(But I think they wouldn't want you to wallow in despair but live on. You should know that our loved ones never truly leave us. They stay with us in our memories and in our hearts.)" he said while touching his heart.

Tears started to well up in the young girls eyes and she started crying "Pourquoi moi je-je veux juste être avec maman et papa, qu'est-ce que j'ai fait pour mériter ça?

(Why me I-I just want to be with mommy and daddy what did I do to deserve this?)"

Pulling her into his embrace Dumbledore tried to comfort the broken girl.

Grabbing his robes tightly she buried herself in his chest and cried her eyes out.

Hey just sat there till the memory started to fade. Everything seemed to turn to mist and then reformed back into the same place but this time it was her mother teaching her how to weld a sword. While the scene was playing. The Eleanor that was buried in his chest began to calm down.

Looking up at him he saw that her eyes had turned red because of all the crying.

"Merci (Thank you)" she said so quietly that he almost didn't hear.

"Eleanor, ma chère, je pense qu'il vaut mieux que nous partions maintenant. (Eleanor, my dear I think it better if we leave now.)"he said not wanting to hurt her more by reliving these memories.

She nodded and the whole world seemed to collapse in on itself.

Seeing as they had returned to the large library that was her mind he looked around and saw that the Obscrus had disappeared and the clouds had returned to a snowy white. But the hall was still in shambles. Standing up he reached out a hand to help Eleanor stand. Accepting it gladly she asked "Que s'est-il passé ici? (What happened here?)"

"Eh bien, vous voyez, vous avez un obscurus. (Well you see, you have an obscurus.)" he stated with a sad expression on her face.

"Oui je sais (Yes, I know)" she said "Mais ma mère a trouvé un moyen de l'arrêter.

(But my mother found a way to stop it.)"

Dumbledore's eyes widened at this "Que voulez-vous dire, elle a trouvé un moyen de l'arrêter? (What do you mean she found a way to stop it?)"

"Exactement ce que j'ai dit

(Exactly what I said)" she stated.

"Et comment dire qu'elle a fait ça? (And how pray tell did she do that?)" he asked with his eyebrows raised.

"Maman a dit que je ne peux le dire à personne

(Mommy said I can't tell anybody)" she said, frowning.

Sighing Dumbledore just shook his head "Bien, mais si jamais vous chane votre esprit alors dites-moi. Mais avant que nous puissions quitter votre esprit, nous ferions mieux de nettoyer tout cela. (Fine but if you ever change your mind then tell me. But before we can leave your mind we better clean all this up.)"

Nodding she started walking over to a pile of books and started sorting them into different piles.

"Lord Dum, je-je veux dire le professeur Dumbledore, pourriez-vous s'il vous plaît m'apporter les livres pour que je puisse les trier.

(Lord Dum, I-I mean Professor Dumbeldore could you please bring me the books so I can sort them." said Eleanor.

"Bien sûr, lady Pendragon (Of Course, lady Pendragon)" he said while waving his wand noticing nothing happened he sighed and started moving the books by hand.

Realizing what he just called he Eleanor asked "Comment as-tu? (How did you?)"

(Ah, well you see I couldn't help but notice the sigil of house Pendragon on your book. First I thought you probably stole it or found it somewhere but then I remembered that I had a journal of a squire in your father's court. So I reread some specific parts where you are mentioned. And it fit the situation pretty well.

If I add on to it that I just saw part of your memories and voila.)"

Giggling Eleanor said, "Vous êtes un professeur assez impressionnant. Je suis heureux de savoir que je peux te faire confiance.

(You're quite impressive Professor. I'm happy to know that I can trust you.)"

"Oh je te remercie (Oh, I thank you)" he said while bringing over a stack of books and placing them down before her.

Putting a green book on a pile to her right she said "Vous savez, pendant un certain temps, j'ai vécu à Poudlard. (You know for some time I lived in Hogwarts.)"

"Vraiment? (Really?)" Dumbledore asked.

"Oui, à vrai dire, ce n'était pas si plein à l'époque, mais c'était agréable d'être en famille. (Yes, to tell you the truth it wasn't so full then but it was lovely being with family.)" she said with a faint smile on her face.

"Pourquoi la famille? (Why family?)" he asked.

(Oh, I forgot that you wouldn't know. You know my parents mother was Igrain and nobody nowadays knows her family name.

Well she was the daughter of Salazar Slytherin.)" she stopped sorting the book and a pensive look crossed her face "Je rencontre les gens que vous appelez les fondateurs. (I meet the people you call the founders. They treated me like family and Helena she was like my older sister.)" a smile spread across her face and she excitedly said "Vos souvenirs sont si utiles. (Your memories are so useful. So she's a ghost now when where back I would like to see her as fast as possible.)"

A grandfatherly smile appeared on Albus Dumbledore's face. He really liked this little girl because she made the best out of her bad situation.

He looked down and read the title of one of the books "Metamorphmagus". He raised his eyebrows, something he noticed he had done way too often today. "Eleanor, êtes-vous un métamorphmagus? (Eleanor, are you a metamorphmagus?)" he asked.

"Oui des coars qui de la famille noire n'en font pas partie? (Yes of course who from the black family isn't one?)" she answered confused at the question.

"Eh bien, vous voyez, à cette époque, il n'y a qu'un seul métamorphisme en un siècle. (Well you see in this age there has only been one metamorphmagus in a century.)

"Vraiment, malheureusement, je n'arrive toujours pas à comprendre la plupart de vos souvenirs.(Really, sadly I still can't make out most of you memories.)"Eleanor said in a sad tone of voice.

"Oui, il vous faudra du temps pour vous adapter à toutes les connaissances que j'ai acquises.(Yes, it'll take time for you to adjust to all the knowledge I have gathered.)"

After an unknown amount of time, they were finished. Looking around everything was in its place, the shelves were all lightened up nicely and orderly the books were all placed in the right categories.

The place looked beautiful with marble columns decorating the walls and a mosaic floor it just fit Eleanor's status.

Looking at the girl he had helped clean this place up with. Dumbledore asked "Eleanor?"

"Oui? (Yes?)"

"Je suppose que vous n'avez pas bu de sang depuis votre réveil, non? (I guess you haven't drunk any blood since you woke up, correct?)" he asked.

Eleanor nodded and said "Yes that is correct and I see what you're getting at. As soon as I wake up I will try to keep myself under control but you have to get away as fast as possible and take out your wand.

But there's another problem. I was turned just before my mother put me in that crystal. So I will need copious amounts of blood and it will be hard to control."

Furrowing his brows Dumbledore nodded to.

Suddenly everything went dark and a wave of blood lust hit Eleanor. Gritting her teeth which had extended she tried to fight it. Her nails dug into the sofa and tore gouges into it. She could hold it no longer and her eyes burst open.
