Chapter 7 - Shots

"What's this about?" Ella asked looking at her mother.

"Well sweetie, Dr Acula has thought of a way to help your body get stronger. He found a virus that has been eating away at your body and has found a way to get rid of it." Mrs Brundle started with a hopeful voice. Ella looked back between the two before the doctor spoke.

"Well, I hope I have made progress on the antidote because some people are found to have the same virus as you." He stated.

"Ok? If you have the antidote then can't you just give it to me?" She asked still a little cautious.

"Well, that's the thing. He needs a sample of your blood to experiment on before he can treat patients with it." Mrs Brundle said awkwardly.

"Y-you want some of my blood?" Ella asked for confirmation.

"Only a bit seeing as I'll be testing some other people with this virus and I want to see how different blood types can affect it." He said confidently.

"Say no. He literally has Dracula in his name. You don't know what he'll do to your blood. Probably to check which blood type tastes better." Otto said cautiously.

"Mother, I don't have a good feeling about this," Ella whispered to her mother.

"Don't worry Ella, he knows what he's doing. It'll be just a little prick on your arm and you won't feel any pain. I would love to see my daughter somewhere other than a hospital bed." She said hopefully.

I guess if that dream I had is about me I should play it safe for now. Ella thought. She sighed before opening her mouth to respond.

"honestly speaking, this won't affect your body negatively in any way if these tests are successful. We might need to look into side effects but non should damage your health in any way." Dr Acula said.

"I'm telling you... vampire~" Otto whispered to Ella as if he was having fun with it. Ella almost exploded with confusion and stress but then gave out the first thing that came to mind.

"I guess since it's only a bit of blood, and you say that it won't do anything bad to me then... sure." She said. At the corner of her eye, she could see Otto face-palming himself.

"Thank you, sweetie. When you get out of this hospital it will be easier to get your memories back." Mrs Brundle gave Ella a quick squeeze before standing up.

"Ok, I will bring the equipment to take the blood." Dr Acula said before heading towards the door.

"Y-you're taking it now?" Ella asked still nervous about the whole thing squeezing her mother's hand for security.

"Don't worry honey, you won't feel the needle pierce your skin." Mrs Brundle said with a bright smile.

"N-needle? P-pierce my-" Ella asked with a pale face as she waited for Dr Acula to return.
