Chapter 95 - Incisions

Myorka was still at the inn, covered in pearls. The milky white glow of her jewelry looked quite spectacular against her skin. She was playing with a coin, apparently trying to decide what to do with it.

"Tell me what to drink," she said as she saw Serenica come. "Coffee? Rum? Gin? All of them?"

"You will have none of those," Serenica said solemnly. "You will have a healthy and refreshing glass of milk from the finest cow that has ever let out a moo in this forsaken excuse for a city."

The bookkeeper laughed. "What's this about?"

"I want to be a doctor so bad," Serenica said, her heart thumping fiercely against her ribs. "I would have more authority. I would be so good. I could help so many people."

Myorka's eyes got really wide.

"Are you saying that -" She seemed to swallow the end of her sentence.
