Liela hit an angry right hook on Serenica's jaw.
Serenica heard something crack. Her last coherent thought was regret over not having opened the button of her trousers to the Dreamer before dying.
She came back to her senses in a strong paw buzz, very much alive, and thankfully, not in pain. Her jaw felt a little bit funny, but she could still move it, and all her teeth seemed to be intact as well.
She realized that she was back in Parth's hut. She felt something cold against her face. It was a wet rag, held by none other than Liela, who was looking supremely apologetic.
"I very nearly killed that woman because of you," Spade said with a relieved sigh. "Thankfully you're tougher than you look."
"I feel fantastic," Serenica claimed. "But what kept you from shooting her?"
"Apparently Ed has more sense than all of us combined and can spot a breathing person from a distance."
