I sat down when the fight began and began to count with my fingers.
If I estimate it right, he will get here in 10 seconds.
Man, I want to make this duel as long as possible. Just to mess with the guy. It's just fun to mess around you know?
Let's see, I already have 7 fingers up. Now I have 8.
Jeez, if I was to play seriously, I would've won by now.
I'm at 10. Alright, time to get up and get out of the way now.
I turned around and stepped to the side, letting Chakzo's sword hit the ground.
Chakzo quickly pulled it out of the ground and went for a horizontal slash. I bent backward, evading the humongous blade.
"Ho, you actually managed to evade that."
"Managed? I mean it wasn't that hard, considering your attack speed is so slow. Maybe you should've stuck with a sword more of your caliber. A little smaller and maybe you might have a chance."
"You... you brat. This sword is a legendary sword passed down by my-"
I scratched my head and yawned. He's gonna go babbling about his sword and how legendary it is and that it's been passed down by his family membe- blah blah blah.
I turned back and he was done explaining.
Finally, never liked hearing stories.
"C'mon, try and hit me already," I beckoned Chakzo and he gritted his teeth.
"Hya!"
He ran towards me and begun swinging his sword. Left, right, above, damn, this guy is so easy to read.
After a while, I jumped back and shook my head. Man, he hasn't even struck me once.
"Come on, even a hellhound can do better than that!" I mocked Chakzo as he lifted his sword up.
"Grrr, enough out of you. Take this!"
Suddenly, a magic circle appeared in front of him and energy bullets shot out from it. I shook my head but when I recognized how quickly they were approaching me, I quickly used my case as a shield and blocked them.
When the barrage stopped, I quickly looked up and Chakzo was right above me and his sword near my face.
This is bad! I quickly dodge out of the way and the sword slammed into the ground.
I dashed back to make some space between us. Shit, looks like he made a mess out of my weapon case. At least the weapons are alright.
Though... that was dangerous. If I hadn't evaded, I would've had to fight back and his sword would've broke.
"Tch, you even evaded that."
"Of course I did. You're like a poster; too easy to read."
"You!"
Enraged, he wrapped his sword around with fire. Oh, so he can also do it for the sword?
"You are going to wish you were never born a Hybrid!"
Again? C'mon.
Chakzo ran towards me, dragging his flame-engulfed legendary sword. Well, if I get hit, I might get burned.
Oh, he's already here. Quicker than I expected.
I dodged again and appeared behind him. He attempted to hit me and swung his sword horizontally. I jumped and his sword phased right past me.
Man... I'm bored. I should actually start fighting... soon.
I flipped back as he swung again and when he did it one more time, I used my case and parried.
"What the-?!" Chakzo gasped before I hit him with the edge of my case, knocking him on his back.
Oh, did I use too much strength? I swear I didn't mean to knock him out.
Chakzo slowly got up on his feet and when he turned towards me, there was a raging fire burning in his eyes.
"Ahh, so I didn't knock you out. It would've been troublesome if I did."
"You! How dare you mock me!"
Chakzo began wrapping flames around his arms and his whole body was eventually on fire. Ahh, that's right, he's a Dragonborn and they are immune to fire.
"I'm going to burn you and turn you into ashes!"
I jumped back as I felt a wave of heat spread around the battlefield. Huh, looks like I made someone pissed off.
"I'm going to kill you!"
Whoosh!
In an instant, Chakzo appeared in front of me and threw his fist. I blocked it with my case, leaving a giant dent in my case.
I slid back and looked at my case. Yep, looks like this thing is worn down now, I should just equip it.
But it seems that Chakzo got faster by just a few miles per hour. Oh well, not like it changes anything.
I opened my case and quickly wore my holster, placing both Ignis and Brina in their respective positions; Brina on the left and Ignis on the right.
I took out Mortel and quickly strapped it to my back. Alright, I think that's all.
I kicked my case at Chakzo which he blocked. But when he opened his arms to look at me, I threw an energy orb at him which exploded on impact.
Boom!
Chakzo fell to the ground and landed on his feet. He glared at me for a second and then picked his sword up.
"Prepare to die!"
He then jumped into the air with his sword over his head. Really? How many times has he done that?
I shook my head and pulled Ignis out, then I pulled the trigger aimed at his chest and an explosion erupted.
When Chakzo fell to the ground, he had more flames around his body.
"Heh, fool. You're just wasting your time."
Hmm, looks like all I did was give him more energy. His scales protect him from explosions and fire. But... they don't protect him from ice.
As Chakzo came towards me again, I drew Brina and fired at his legs, encasing them in ice.
"Huh? What the-?!"
In just two seconds, his entire legs were trapped in ice. I smirked and walked towards Chakzo while I had Brina aimed at him and Ignis on my shoulder.
"Like it, huh? Yeah, this bad boy plays with fire while this baby girl I just used specializes in ice. Impressive, right?"
I spun Brina around my finger and blew the smoke coming out of its barrel.
With the flames around Chakzo's arm, he attempted to melt the ice on his legs but even when a minute passed, it barely thawed.
"Sorry but you are gonna need a stronger fire to melt that. My ice magic intends to be stubborn and won't melt unless it meets with a more potent flame. Your flames are... not strong enough."
Chakzo glared at me and he eventually broke out of the ice using brute force.
"Don't you dare mock me, you Hy-!"
Bang!
I fired Brina and this time his arms were frozen. Then I shot Ignis aimed at the spot Brina had shot and it broke the ice off.
"Huh? What the-?"
"You might wanna dodge this time."
I spun both Ignis and Brina at the same time and held them horizontally, then I started pulling the trigger rapidly.
Every time I froze Chakzo's arm with Brina, his scales would be caught in it and they'll get torn off when I fire Ignis. I'm not really trying since I'm just inputting the least amount of energy I can right now.
"Sh-shit!"
Chakzo attempted to launch a spell but I froze his hand before he could do it. Whenever he dodged Brina's ice bullets, he would just get hit by Ignis' explosive bullets which stunned him.
I'd keep firing and started showing off. I'd throw Ignis and Brina in the air and switch hands; Ignis on the left hand and Brina on the right. My left arm isn't good for using weapons with high-recoil but I'm just playing around right now so it doesn't really matter.
"St-stop!" Chakzo yelled.
"Stop? Sorry but this is a fight. You either give up now or die in a fight you can't win."
I'd continue to bombard him with the shots coming out of Ignis and Brina. I could see his arm getting barer and being stripped of its scales. If this keeps on going, he's gonna get his arm blown off.
Jeez, this is already getting boring. When is he gonna give up?
I'd stop firing Brina and continue bombarding him with Ignis. Every explosion that erupted I can hear him grunting.
I place Brina back in its respective spot in the holster and began pouring energy into Ignis. I'll just finish this off with a big bang. When Ignis glowed at its brightest I was ready to fire.
Right when I was about to pull the trigger, Chakzo yelled-
"I-I GIVE UP!"
I pulled the trigger but I managed to aim it over his shoulder and the bullet flew past, multiple explosions erupting behind him.
I smiled and spun Ignis, then placed it back in my holster.
"Good choice," I said and I crossed my arms. Then I walked away.
"The winner is Angelo Osiris from the 2nd circle!" The voice announced.
"No way... he just made Chakzo give up just like that?"
"He didn't even have the chance to fight back..."
"He didn't even fight him in close combat."
I could hear the spectators chatting about the fight.
Let's see, since I defeated one, I still have 2 more people to beat. Well, I have plenty of time.
"Congratulations, you can take a 10-minute break, or you can continue and fight your next opponent," the voice said.
"Hmm, I don't need a rest, give me my next opponent."
"Alright, please wait as I get your next opponent."
When I arrived at the lobby again, everyone was giving me a fearful look. What's wrong with them?
"Your next opponent has been decided. Please follow," The lady said and I followed her.
I was in the arena again. Now then, who do I have to fight?
Crackle~!
I heard what sounded like ice spreading and when I looked over, it was the ice princess.
Looks like I'll be fighting someone from the 7th circle.
"Came to play with fire?" I snickered as I drew Ignis.
"You won't be able to speak that way to me when I freeze your organs inside out."
"Oh, how cold... Be nice with me will you?"
Oyuki glared at me coldly and readied magic formations on her hands.
"Are both of you ready?"
I smirked and begun spinning Ignis while Oyuki just glared at me.
"Begin!"
