It was a cold and rainy day. Dark clouds covered the sky all day. It was late October, nothing special not happened until that dark day. To be exact, it was October 28. The girl's parents just worked until 7 PM, they finished another case in the court, they made justice for someone and then they headed back home to their 16 year old daughter. Just like every day. But that day they needed to take the road from the forest because the road they always took, was closed because the storm.
The next thing that everyone known that they were found dead. They never returned to their daughter. The next day someone find them by the road. Someone dragged them out of the car, then shoot them in the head, after cut out their tongues. The crime scene was a horrible sight. It looked like someone pushed them off the road, that's why the car was slammed into a tree. Whoever did it, not spared them.
The FBI investigated the crime, but they never found evidence. It was clean, so after one and a half years the police closed the Walker case unresolved and they never opened up again.
Their daughter, Amara Walker grew up with her grandparents and after what happened she decided that she's becoming a detective then open it again.

-Come on in! - she's escorted her to the office where a familiar face looked at her.
-Hello, Amara!
-Hi Elijah! - she sat down and just stared at the guy.
-You remember me!
-I could never forget someone who told me that my parents died. So yes, I remember you!"
Elijah is the new boss of the Texas Police Department. He was just an officer when he's came to our house and told me that someone killed my parents. He made me promise him back then that I never look for my parents' killer. But I broke the promise when I walked through the station door to become a detective.
"-How are you? - he broke the silence.
-I'm fine, thanks. I finally finished the police academy and I'm ready to join!
-You promised me something, do you remember that too?
-Yes, but you never found out who murdered my family so I thought maybe it's my time to do something. - she tried so hard to not to cry, but after 8 years, this was the first time she talked about them.
-I told you not to because I knew it's dangerous! And whoever did it, it's out there and more dangerous than ever!
-You know something, don't you?
-I don't know jack, Amara. And I blame myself because I was never been able to bring justice to you!"
Both of her parents was a lawyer. It's a dangerous job, but they haven't even undertaken dangerous cases however, they were the best lawyer in Texas. But 8 years ago something changed, they undertook a case. Not just any case, it was the John Reed case. They needed to defend a cold blooded murder and they won, but the thing is that they sent an innocent man to prison, Liam Stan. However, whoever killed Amara parents, it's a mystery remained to these days.
