Chapter 8 - Evil puts in work

Now that's the forge was up and running, massive amounts of heat was shooting into the sky, melting the surrounding ice. The demon lord Jack could finally start equipping his army with armor and weapons for the coming war with the despicable good guys.

"Gibbs!… Come here, let's test your first set of armor." Jack said. Gibbs fumbled awkwardly, his little goblin body encumbered by massive amounts of armor, as he distributed it to others standing by. "Okay, we'll start with a blunt test on the armor" Jack said. Within the blink of an eye, Jack dashed across the room and smashed the armor, sending the tiny goblin flying down the caverns. "Well Gibbs, your armor isn't up to par for blunt attacks, and it feels paper thin. Let's try slashing attacks" Jack cheerfully said. All the creatures ditched the armor and began running away in a hurried panic. Jack began laughing manically. "Gibbs! Make better armor!" Jack commanded as he walked away.

After several days with no progress made on improving the armor, Jack came to the conclusion that Gibbs needed training. "Well guys, we need to find a master blacksmith to help with our supplies, any ideas?" Jack asked. Everyone began shaking their heads no. "Hmm… you haven't heard of anyone around here good with metal, have you Jinx?" Jack asked.

"I've heard a rumor about someone making a metal fortress in the northern mountains, but nothing from anyone creditable." Jinx said

"Well, it's all we've got to go off, so let's go!" Jack said.

"Well, I guess this is the perfect time for me to show you my new toy!" Stein said excitedly.

"Woo! More science!" Jack yelled.

Walking toward Stein city which resembles a large garage now, Stein was explaining what he had built.

"Well, with all the ogre man power you lent me, I was able to build two motorcycles!"

…. "Ok I'll bite, what's a motorcycle?" Jacked asked.

"I'm glad you asked!" Stein replied "Behold!… My magnificent motorcycle!" He proclaimed with his arms spread wide toward his precious new toys.

Scratching his head at the unknown object, "What does it do?" asked Jack.

Without saying a word, Stein hopped on the seat, turned it on, revved the engine, and shot out of the garage at incredible speeds. As he sped back inside, he was as excited as a kid getting candy but was met with the unamused face of Jack.

"It's just a vehicle and a slow one at that." Jack said flatly.

"You thought that was slow?!" Stein snapped back.

Jack nodded.

"Fine! Let's have a race then." Stein challenged indignantly.

After a few hours of a hoard of goblin workers setting up a strip of land for the upcoming race, it was almost time for the race to begin. As they took their places on the track, Jack locked eyes with Stein who still looked indignant at the ridicule Jack gave about his bikes and he was determined to prove him wrong. Jack smiled at Stein and gave a little wink, at that moment Violet waved the flag to begin the race. Jack sprang! It took one leap he and was across the line before Stein had a chance to engage the engine. Stein's jaw dropped. Jack looked back, smirked, and then vanished.

As Jack was prepping the next stage of his plans, he called for a meeting with Violet, Stein, Gar, and Anak. After a few hours, it was decided that not only did they need to improve their influence in the continent, but one more powerful ally should be acquired.

"Violet, you will head north with a small army and take out any of the crooked do-gooders and seize control of any towns you find in the way, questions?" Jack commanded.

"No sir." Violet belted out.

"Anak will transform back into an elf and infiltrate the last known fortress of the Elves, takin 'em out from the inside, any questions?" Jack said again.

"No sir." Anak saluted.

"And finally, Stein will travel east, making our presence known across land, questions? Jack asked searching the faces in the room.

"Umm yea, do I have too?" Stein sighed.

"Yes!" Jack snapped back.

"Gar will run the tower while I'm gone." Jack carried on.

"Where are you going?" Stein asked.

"I'm going to get our next ally, he's much to powerful to just summon." Jack said.

"Who's that?" Stein pressed.

"We'll leave it as an old friend." Jack sternly said. "Gar, have everyone equipped and ready to go by weeks end!" Jack commanded.

"Yes sir!" Gar said squirming away.

As the week carried on, preparations were made with great haste. Black smoke remained constant over the tower as the forges ran constantly to keep up with the ever-increasing demand. No one had seen Jack from the moment the meeting ended. It was finally the day to leave. First out of the gate was Violet and her small army of strong armored orcs. Racing north, the ax-wielding Minotaur looked ecstatic to finally leave the tower she's known since her becoming. Then Anak followed close behind, marching with an army of the dead disguised as elves headed south. Finally, with a group of mech's, Stein rode his newly crafted motorcycle down the road east. Jinx, watching from the top of the tower, was still weary of what's to come as she was with Jack before he vanished. Only she knew that he had actually opened a dark portal to the unknown and disappeared into it.
