Chereads / The Human Luna / Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Is that Koray?

The wolf nods and I know.

I still haven't moved from my spot and was searching through them when I spotted a familiar large black wolf with green eyes.

He steps up from the group and his body changes. He winces as his body shifts from a wolf to a human being.

I gawk at the naked sight in front of me.

I'm drunk without drinking!

Koray, no, Xavion is chuckling again at my thoughts and I scowl. Every wolf looks at the naked man with confusion, probably wondering why he is laughing to himself.

"It's okay. You're okay," he leaps to my side while whispering.

My eyelids fly shut when he lurks closer.

"Royce, give me pants," he speaks with so much power I didn't expect it, so I unconsciously back away.

I feel Xavion holding me in his arms and I can feel he already is wearing his pants.

"Shift," his power continues and I can feel his alpha radiating off of him.

"I'm sorry. It's over," he whispers in my ear and I slightly jolt.

I weave my eyes open and see all the wolves have shifted like Xavion said, all wearing pants. The three women are wearing a shirt as well. There are nine people in total, including the alpha by my side.

He picks me up bridal style and I shriek as he walks to the middle of the group.

"This is Eliah..." his sentence fades off and I realise he doesn't know my full name.

"Eliah Jolyn Whisp," my voice wavers and I look down.

Xavion engulfs me in his arm and holds me tight.

"You don't even know your own mate's name?" a male speaks up.

Xavion moves and I look up to see him glaring at a buff mix-race guy. The guy backs away, along with the rest of the group.

"Wait here," without making anyone protest, Xavion drags me inside.

I follow him while tripping out of shock.

Looking behind me, I see everyone standing on guard and one female smiling at me. Xavion drags me further into the house and shuts the door behind me.

"What's going on? What are you doing here? Where have you been?" I couldn't stop the questions from coming.

"Calm down, sweetheart," he chuckles while picking me up and placing me on the couch. He sits beside me, crossing his legs and I turn to face him.

"Start explaining," I insist and he faces me.

"Didn't I already explain all the werewolf stuff?" he jokes in a light tone. I slightly hit him on the arm, telling him how serious I am.

"Alright, alright," he smiles at me.

"I'm here to introduce you to the pack," his smile grows wider and a spark occupies his eyes.

"Excuse me, what?" I almost choke on my own breath.

"To introduce you to..." he starts, but I cut him off.

"Yeah, yeah. But how? Why?" I question him.

I look him in the eyes, searching for an answer. He looks down, playing with his fingers.

Just as I was about to repeat my question, he takes a deep breath and looks up. He reaches for my hands and holds them in his own.

"Would you please come with me and meet the rest of the pack?" I hesitate at his request and he looks defeated.

"I just... I don't know," I sigh.

"Please. I'm sorry if it's too fast for you, I'll give you more time if you need," he shakes his head and his breath quickens.

I lift my right hand to his left cheek to see his expression.

He looks devastated.

"And disappear on me again?"

His eyes shoot up to search for mine, but his smile doesn't return.

"What happens when I meet the pack?" I ask, knowing about wolves. If werewolves follow the wolf way like Xavion said, then me meeting the pack means I can only be a part of it.

"That's what I mean by needing more time. If you are not ready to be Luna, I'll arrange something so you can have a small vacation. If you want?" His eyes are filled with hope and desire while looking at me.

"How is that possible?" I need to make sure he isn't doing something that can get him killed.

"Well, I'm the Alpha," he reminds me, but I don't believe it's enough. I don't know how the werewolf world works, but I know how the wolf world works and Xavion doesn't look happy.

"I'll make it happen if you want to come. So?"

Shocking me a bit with his statement, I actually consider it without thinking.

"Later. Everyone I know is passed out drunk," I giggle to myself at the thought. Xavion growls at that.

I raise my eyebrow at him, wondering why he reacts now the same way he did when other people were around in that few days.

Wait.

Does that mean...

"Are you jealous?" I laugh at the reaction on his face.

"The bond is getting stronger," he whispers, so I could barely hear him.

"Excuses," I whisper back playfully. He lets go of a small laugh and I'm glad his smile is returning.

"So if we are going tomorrow, what are we gonna do with my fellow pack members out there?" he pleads.

"Fine, they can stay," I sigh and Xavion jumps in joy. He charges for the outside and continues jumping with joy.

"Come in," he ushers everyone inside before I can resist. They all shuffle inside and wait for me to do something.

"I'll get blankets," I hurry upstairs and grab everything I own. I run back down, throw it all on a heap and get ready to make beds.

While arranging cushions and blankets, Xavion orders them to help.

"It's fine, I'm fine. You are guests," I say while pulling a pillow from under the mess.

"Thank you very much, but we can't let you do all the hard work," a guy speaks up.

The next moment, Xavion picks me up in his arms and makes his way to the stairs.

"Goodnight," Xavion makes it seem like a warning while climbing the stairs with me still in his arms.

"I can't just leave them!" I try to wiggle my way out of his grip, but he holds me tighter.

"We're okay," I hear a female voice shouting from the couch.

"They're okay," Xavion has an evil glint in his eyes.

"What are you doing?" I scramble as he throws me on my bed.

"Going to bed," his voice is relaxed and he hops onto the bed beside me.

My bed is a little bigger than a single, but smaller than a double, meaning there isn't much space.

Xavion wraps his arms around my body and snuggles with me.

"We can't sleep like this," I shuffle around, almost falling off of the bed.

"But I already am," I hear the humour coming from his voice.

"Stop it," I warn him while smacking his arm. He ignores me and snuggles deeper.

I groan out of frustration and shove him lightly. He changes position, lying on his back and clasping me to his naked chest.

"You know you can't resist me," he jokes from under me in a tired voice.

"Yeah right, just go to sleep," I huff in annoyance and drop my head in the crook of his neck, huffing again.

"Goodnight."
