I stared at the wall that stood in front of me for quite some time. I did not know what to think, or what was going on with me right now. I was scared for some odd reason... Well maybe I should not say that it was odd, as I knew why I was afraid.
I was going to see her again tonight, for the first time in months. Last time I had seen her, it had not gone all too well. Me and my father both believed that she had betrayed us, and that she was on the side of her current race. It made sense as well, which was why my father was so hesitant.
Of course she was going to be on the side of the black dragons, as she was a black dragon herself. Which made sense as to why we were being so careful this time. Socra said she did not know where the camp was at, she had in fact been a few kilometers out from it the night I had met her.
She had to know that we were close to where she had met us at. I did not know about the meeting, yet she still knew that I had caught them. She knew the general area of where we were staying at, and that was really the part that kind of scared me.
If she had betrayed us, and she was lying about her excuse to what she had done, than we were in a whole heap of trouble. Luckily we had a lot more of the place guarded up, as of late, thanks to some of the plans and rules that my father had put around camp.
If they were going to be attacking us, we would know they were coming, and we had been searching for a place to stay, so that we had a quick path to run away. We had this a lot more planned out than we had last time, and we should have known that something like that would have happened as well.
I looked away from the wall that I had been staring at, as I spotted Penta with her eyes locked on me, from not too far away. I squinted my eyes at her, as I was a bit confused as to what it was that she might be doing, but as soon as she noticed that I had seen her looking at me, she turned her head away.
I was still a bit afraid to be anywhere near her, and could you really blame me? She had tried to kill me, for what reason? I know that Ipse kept telling me that she had changed, but if she thought that she might still have a chance at me, that chance was long gone now.
I had no trust in her, and she only wanted a dragon that was going to be a popular dragon, and an important dragon, as I had come to find out with Kota. He had always been the leader of our little group of friends, so it made sense as to why she was so fond of him.
I knew that Kota did not care one bit for her, and I wanted to feel bad for her as well, but she really had hurt me, not just physically, but to the mental aspect as well. I looked away from her too, as I saw that she now was paying me no attention.
If Ipse really did mean what he had said by her saying that she really regretted what she had done to me, I was not going to believe it, until she said it to my face. I then looked back over at the wall, that I had just been staring at for a long time now.
I then shook my head, as I wondered as to what it was that I was doing. Most of the dragons had already headed out of the cave, to go on ahead, and do their morning routine, until they then had to split up into groups, to start their daily training.
I closed my eyes, as it all flicked back at me, all at the same time. It hurt me, and I still did not think that I could ever have the same feelings that I had once had with Yikla. It hit me hard, as I remember my brother getting killed right in front of my eyes.
I shivered, as I tried to shake it all off at the same time as well. I had to get over it at some point, I knew that my brother had told both me and my father, that we needed to get over it, and we needed to be focused on the war. He was right, and I knew it, but I still seemed to have these almost, nightmare like moments where it all came back to me, all at once.
I lifted myself up at the same time as well, as I knew that I could not just sit in the cave all day. I had just a little bit of time left, until I had to start my training with my group. My group had Kota, Kip, Penta, Nink, and Lunk. The groups were based off of age range.
Penta had just recently turned 20 as well, and we were in the 20-25 age group. A lot of my old friends were in the group as well, though I don't remember many of their names, due to them not being as close to me as the other ones were.
To my surprise, though Lunk was the one that had really been training us, it seemed like Nink was the most excited out of all of us, with all of the training that we had been doing. I knew it kind of annoyed Lunk on several occasions, but it put a bit of a smile on my face, to see someone so happy.
Even after losing his family, he still had a smile on his face, every day we met up. It got me a bit excited as well, as he lit up my day, every day that we spent together. I was always the one that made sure if we were in groups, that he was in my group.
He was not exactly the best fighter in the world, but it made me fight a lot better, being around someone that had such a positive out look on things. I smiled to myself as well, as I then opened my eyes, and looked around at the cave that I was in.
I was now excited in fact, to start my day off, and get ready for the training that was in session for us today. I looked around, seeing if he might be in the cave, though it did not surprise me that he wasn't, as he somehow was always one of the first ones up.
I was always so tired, and a lot of the time I did not want to wake up, and get out of the cave, for another day of training. Not only was a training to get to be a bit of a warrior, but I also had to meet up with my father, and Socra on most nights, to discuss all of our plans as to what we were doing around our camp.
I felt a strong burst of strength all of the sudden, almost as if it was some random adrenaline rush, as I lifted myself up, and then began to quickly walk out of the cave. It was much unlike most days, as I was usually so tired, that it took me a while to get up when I heard the call of training starting.
It was not just the fact that I was excited to work with Nink today, but I also for some reason, was excited to get to see Yikla tonight as well. I knew that I should not be, as she was the one that had led to my brothers death, but there was still some part of me that had feelings for her, for some odd reason.
That also was not the only reasons that I knew I needed to get up. I had not eaten food in quite a while, and I had noticed that I was getting tired a lot more easier over the last few days, due to that as well. I was very hungry, but at the same time, I was hesitant to get something to eat.
I knew that food was a bit scarce around the camp lately, as the hunters had spent most of their time training for the war. Not only that, but also the fact it was the winter, and a lot of the animals were a lot more hesitant to go outside around this time of the year.
I knew the other day, we had caught a bear in one of the caves near the edges of our territory. I wanted to eat it, and there was plenty of it as well, as I had never gotten to try a bear before, but at the same time, I knew that there were a lot of dragons in the tribe, that were a lot more hungry than me.
I could not hold it off any longer though. I was so hungry, I felt like I would die if I went another day without eating any food. Also I was thirsty as well, and I knew that the nearest place to get safe water, was a far bit outside of the camp.
I needed to get something to drink, before I went on ahead, and started with my training today. I then walked out of the large cave that we slept in every night, and I looked around camp, just to make sure that nothing seemed off.
I saw a lot of dragons talking to each other, and they had their heads held up high too. It was clear that they were both happy, and they were excited as well. I had noticed that a lot more around camp lately, now that my father had stepped up his role as the leader of our tribe.
Everyone was a lot more happy, as on a normal day, a few months ago, I would see dragons with their heads down low, as they would spread false rumors about other dragons around the whole camp. It put a bit of a smile on my face, to wake up to see a happy tribe all around me.
I then shook my head at the same time as well, as I then began to walk over to where the prey pile was usually at. I had my head down low to the ground at the same time, as I was still a bit tired from not getting all that much sleep last night.
I did not notice the fact that the prey pile was completely empty, until I got right up near where it usually was at. I looked around for a few moments, as I was a bit surprised, and a bit confused at the same time as well. Had they moved the prey pile? I had not had to deal with this problem just yet.
As I looked around me, I saw that there were a few other dragons that looked just like me, well, maybe just not as bad as me. I could tell that they were very hungry, and they were expecting a good breakfast in the morning as well, and based on the disappointed looks that I saw on their faces, they did not get to have that.
I looked a bit more around the camp, as I saw that there were some hunter dragons that were on top of the sun rocks. I was about to walk over to them, and to be a bit greedy, and tell them that they should be hunting right now, but I then shook my head, as I chose not to do so.
If I really was that hungry, than I should go and hunt for myself. I nodded to myself at the same time as well, as I felt a bit sick as well. I was so tired, I was not sure if I would even be able to catch anything. I began to walk away from the prey pile, as I was a bit disappointed.
I guess I would just have to go another day without eating, because based off of where I saw the sun on the sky, even if I did go to try to catch something, I would not be back on time before the training was to start. I was not going to have very much energy today.
I felt like maybe I should tell Lunk about it, and maybe then I could go try to hunt, but at the same time, I knew that I needed to be doing training. I began to walk away from the prey pile, until I spotted a familiar face walking over to me.
It was Kota, and I saw a lot more dragons walking over with him as well. Not only that, but as I looked at them, it looked as though most of them had some sort of prey on them. I got a bit excited, as I tried to relax myself at the same time, as I did not want to get too ahead of myself.
I wanted to make sure that other dragons were to eat first. That was a job of a leader. I knew that the black dragons had it vice versa, and their way made sense as well. The strongest dragons were to eat first if there was not enough prey to go around.
I shook my head, as I saw Kota and his group drop off their prey by the pile, and then get a small piece for themselves as well. Kota noticed that I was waiting too, and he threw a piece of his deer at me. I nodded to him thankfully, and then I began to bite in to it.
Kota then began to walk over to me at the same time as well. As he sat down beside me, and began to bite into his piece of deer. I then saw his mate, Zati, walk over to us as well. I nodded to the both of them, as I finished a bite of my deer, and then I began to speak to the both of them.
"Thanks for the food, my friend. I have not got to eat in nearly 2 weeks." I said to the both of them. They both nodded to me, after they fnished a bite of their food, and then they kept on gorging in to the meat. I did the same as well, as I was beginning to realize how hungry I really had been.
Once I finished off my chunk of meat I then sat down, feeling a bit refreshed from the food, as I watched as they finished off their pieces, quite a bit slower than I had. Once they had done so as well, I saw Kota nod back to me, and then he began to speak back to me as well.
"You are going to need to food, you are going to be worn out after today!" He said to me. I looked at him, a bit confused as to what he had meant by that. He then realized that I was a bit lost, as he kept on speaking to me. "Did you not hear the news?!"
