Chapter 2 - Chapter 1: Grimshaw

I didn't know why I did this. I guess my instincts reacted before I could think. All I remembered was he said something and then we got into a fight. Oh, right. He insulted my Faction. See in this Kingdom or whatever you want to call it, our families are called Factions. However, Factions are different from normal families. Factions include every single member of your family. So anyone with the same last name as you is part of your Faction. My Faction was called the Dark Wolves. We usually were boisterous and could be mostly known for our feral fighting style. Somehow my mom made me an introverted person, who fights by a hit and run style. Weird huh?

The kid, Ryann, who insulted me was part of the Faction called the Elite, one of the most snobby factions in the Kingdom of Strathclyde. They were the Faction that had the best warriors as most of their members were Legends or Heroes. To them, anyone being anything but those titles were considered useless and were kicked out. So isn't it surprising that he beat the crap out of me? I should have speculated he would have some dirty trick up his sleeve. Well I mean we tied so it's not that bad. Gunnar himself was a member of the Dimlights, a Faction that was ranked around the middle tier.

"It would have been cool if you beat him... But too bad I guess," shrugged Gunnar

"Do you have to rub it in?"

"Meh. Not really. It just would've been cooler if you beat him," he replies

"You do realize that he was an Elite right?"

"Ummm… Yeah, why?"

"I FOUGHT AN ELITE AND YOU EXPECT ME TO WIN?"

"Yes," he stated bluntly

"You have mental issues,"

"So I've been told,"

That ended our short conversation as we entered the Dimlights Faction. Gunnar's home. A gate blocked our way from entering. Gunnar pushes the gate slightly before looking back once more.

"Guess this is where we part for now," Gunnar shrugs "Welp! See you tomorrow!"

"Yeah, bye," I say nonchalantly

I stood there for a few seconds. Gunnar seemed a bit down today. Probably just stressed, we do have lots of assignments to work on after all. School has been harsh these past few months.
