Myrtle
"I hope you won't cause any trouble," I said as I started to walk away from him.
"Pandora,"
I know who he is and I am not that dense to not notice the white tattoo on his arm.
"I know you are quite aware of my identity,"
The sadness in his voice resonated within me. It joined the sad orchestra that I've been dancing to for a long time.
"Believe me; I'm not going to hurt her. We're on the same side,"
I slowly flipped my curls and smiled at him. His eyes suddenly narrowed and sensed my growing irritation because of his presence.
"Don't worry; I won't ruin your good image, Draven,"
The sadness and hurt were clear in his opal eyes, but he still managed to smile at me before he disappeared.
I quickly rose from my chair and wanted to slam my fists on the table. But, Neo was staring at me. Does he have any knowledge about that Draven?
"I made some tea,"
He better spilled the tea or else I'm going to wring his neck. I tried to restrain myself from reaching his collar or spilling his tea as I sat in front of him. Myrtle, you need to wait, or else he's going to make up excuses again. I poured myself some tea; he was still reading my actions and mood.
"You seemed upset,"
I kept my silence until I finished my tea. While I was pouring myself another cup of tea, Neo suddenly became nervous. How did I found out? He suddenly began to narrow his eyes and scratched his head.
"Well, you can share with me whatever it is. I'll try to help you lighten up your mood,"
Now that he mentioned it, it's time for me to expand this growing tension throughout the room. While he was enjoying his third cup of tea, I smiled at him and placed my cup on the table.
"Did you know about the Draven?"
Funny, he looked like he was surprised at my question when he almost choked himself.
"What do you mean?"
I slowly moved my chair three feet away from the table so that I wouldn't do anything reckless because of my boiling anger.
"You're being vague, Neo,"
I told him as calmly as I could (because I was at the height of my anger)
"I only need a yes or no,"
He can already sense the rising anger within me when he slowly placed his cup on the table. He suddenly became anxious as if I discovered something so sacred when it's not.
"It's a long story, Myrtle,"
I might not be able to stop myself if I stayed in the living room. I quickly stood up and never looked back when I heard him moved his chair. I was about to enter my room, but he was fast enough to block me.
"Let me explain,"
"What are you going to explain?"
I crossed my arms and stared at his lilac eyes. I know they're mesmerizing but I am still mad that he kept it a secret.
"Well, umm, it's complicated, you see," He said as he began to scratch his head.
I seriously wanted to slap him or cast a nullifying spell at him to teach him a lesson but I ended up patting his shoulder.
"Then, looks like you need to wait,"
I quickly teleported myself inside my bedroom and decided to sleep until my mind is finally calm enough not to create sarcastic remarks when he spills the beans.
Kaoma
(Lyndiosa, Gregaia)
I am totally in control of myself, I am. But, since this Draoidhean is around, I highly doubt that. I did promise my teacher that I will be patient with him, but can I wring his neck just once?
Why am I irritated by his presence? Good question. I hate his guts and his attitude. He's just so confident about himself, but do I even have a choice when they convinced him to be part of our mission? I couldn't say no to that, especially if Neo says so.
I know Leda was in trouble when he came to us last Thursday, but he told her to come back on Monday. I had to clear my head before I talked to him again and convinced him to visit her on Sunday.
"You're too worried about your sweetheart,"
He said while he was mixing potions on his small cauldron.
"Looks like, we can visit her tomorrow. But you need to remember to wear that còmhdìon I made,"
"Why do I need to wear something so flashy?" I asked.
I suddenly retreated a few steps away from him when he became too silent.
"Alright, don't wear it,"
He said as he poured the pungent-smelling liquid over the bright white one on his cauldron.
"But, on one condition,"
I watched him as he slowly scooped two tablespoons of the weird potion that he was mixing and slowly placed it inside a vial.
"You need to drink this tomorrow before we go,"
"What? You can't be serious?"
I heard him click his tongue as he took off his round-rimmed glasses.
"I am. Let me remind you that we need to take precautions. Those Oifigearan might be Olc followers or worst,"
He has a point but why do I have to drink that weird-looking liquid?
"What are you mixing in your cauldron anyway?"
He only smiled at me and handed me the vial.
"Look, Lucan, I'm allergic to some herbs," I told him as I pushed the vial back to him.
"Then wear the còmhdìon I made,"
How am I going to tell him about the còmhdìon?
"Did you give it to her?"
I forgot that this man was actually clever enough to deduce the situation that I am in right now. He sighed and turned his back on me and opened one of his drawers.
"You could've told me,"
He continued to rummage on his weird junk until he took out a velvet pouch. He handed the pouch to me and smirked.
"That's an extra; don't lose it because that's the last one,"
I took out the silver còmhdìon from the pouch and gave him a confused look.
"How did you know? Wait, were you actually testing me a while ago?"
He started to laugh at my sudden realization and wiped a tear from his eye.
"I'm not an idiot blind wizard, elf. I know you gave her the bracelet because she was wearing it when she came here to ask for help,"
I got to admit, he might be crawling up to my skin sometimes, but he's actually reliable even if we won't ask for his help. He's always like this ever since we started to team up.
"What about yours?"
He smiled and pulled out a silver round-shaped pendant around his neck.
"I already have mine, don't worry elf,"
I am a bit too harsh on him sometimes. I guess I do need to re-evaluate my actions towards this irritating wizard.
He rose up earlier like the usual and began to prepare his wingless carriage for our journey, Vasa if I'm not mistaken was its name.
"Hello elf, breakfast is inside darling Vasa. We better hurry up so that we will be back before sunset,"
I stretched my arms and went back inside to grab my cloak, my weapons, and my armor and went inside his wingless carriage.
"Kaoma, where's the location of their residence?"
I took two pieces of bread and spread a handful of peach on both sides.
"Lacari,"
The crystal ball in the center of the carriage began to emit soft hues of pink light before we lifted off the ground. I am not quite aware of Lucan's knowledge of magic, but he sure surpassed Lady Myrtle's abilities. Hours had passed, Lucan finally spoke when we passed over the valley that leads to the court of Hephilheim.
"That place is actually huge and has three little towns where the nobles are presiding." He said while he was rotating the ball.
"For a wandering wizard, you sure know a lot of places,"
He became silent before letting out his irritating confident laugh.
"Well, of course, I'm doing business so it is only important for me to know the locations of these towns,"
He sounded fishy though, but he has a point.
"It's on the Eirsian valley,"
He suddenly stopped rotating the ball and the carriage stop mid-air. His silver plates and metal utensils fell on the floor and created an annoying sound.
"Watch it Draoidhean!"
"You're just bluffing aren't you?"
I immediately saw the panic in his eyes and sadly shook my head.
"Are you avoiding someone from that valley?"
He shook his head and went back to rotate the ball and the carriage moved again.
"Hey, is there something wrong Lucan?"
He ignored my question and pointed at the telescope located near the window.
"Elf, kindly check what's going on below,"
His necklace began to emit a red glow and the còmhdìon that I was wearing did the same thing as well. I immediately went to the telescope; I swear my heart stopped beating for a second when I saw that Leda was being chased by a couple of Olc followers.
"Lucan, it's the Olc. They were chasing Leda,"
He rotated the ball to the left and gave me a weird smile.
"Prepare yourself elf, this is going to be a bumpy ride,"
I quickly wore my armor and swiftly strapped on my weapons on each side.
"Lucan, give me a signal if I'm going to jump or not,"
He quickly shook his head and raised his brow.
"You're not going to jump,"
The loud explosion from outside made me lose my balance, the carriage door opened and I immediately noticed that we were already on the ground.
"Kaoma, thirty seconds before the shield disappears,"
Seriously, he could've given me a warning. I quickly went out and noticed Leda's body on the ground. The Olc was struggling to break through the shield that Lucan made.
"Fifteen seconds, move!"
I quickly ran towards her and safely carried her back to the carriage.
"We better move, the Olc has a new weapon,"
Lucan poured a clear liquid on the crystal ball and the carriage swiftly lifted off the ground before one of the Olc could even fire their weapons.
"We better head back," Lucan muttered as he continued to rotate the ball and changing the course back home.
"We can't we need to bring her back to her family,"
Lucan shook his head and his hands left the crystal ball.
"Listen, they saw your face, they knew that this carriage belongs to me. Guess what they're going to do next,"
He pointed at Leda's wrist and quickly pulled open one of his drawers and knelt on the floor.
"Whoever took the bracelet from her is already tracking us down,"
He slowly cleaned her wound and slowly bandaged it.
"We better go back and take whatever evidence they could find from my workshop,"
I only nodded as I went towards the crystal ball and began to rotate it in the direction back to Lucan's workshop. He slowly lifted her using his wind magic and placed her on the vacant bed on the left side of the carriage.
His footsteps were quiet but abrupt; he looked at the telescope and smirked.
"We're here Kaoma,"
He took his cloak and smiled at me as he went towards the door.
"Wait, can you at least wait? I'm going to land Vasa on the ground,"
He shook his head and opened the door.
"No need for that,"
He stepped outside and confidently walked downwards on his invisible stairs. He stopped to survey the Olc as they were heading towards the direction of his workshop. Lucan let out a laugh as he decided to move in their direction.
"Are you crazy? They will kill you!"
I shouted as loud as I could, with the hope that he might realize the reckless move that he was going to do.
"Only weaklings run away from a fight,"
I wanted to run after him but I don't have control of the air as he does.
"Lucan get back here,"
He stopped in the middle of the air and the Olc began to gather around him. They all aimed their weapons at him and Lucan continued to laugh. Stuaghach, does he want to die.
I watched him as he slowly raised his hand and with a snap from his finger, flames emerged from his fingertips.
"Accersi fuoco"
The fire from his fingertips began to swirl until it grew larger and larger. The flames began to surround the Olc and Lucan laughed once more.
"You must be so stupid to think that I can only do simple healing magic,"
They screamed as the fire began to swirl around them. Even their weapons melted and were useless against Lucan's advanced fire magic. The fire vanished and left no traces of the Olc that was chasing Leda. Lucan returned with triumphant spread across his face but he suddenly stopped. He quickly flew down to his workshop and before I could call him out again, the whole place exploded and was quickly eaten by the flames.
I was about to land Vasa when he reappeared inside the carriage unscathed.
"What the heck is wrong with you?"
He slowly placed a crystal ball on the table that has a miniature version of his workshop inside.
"I came to get my workshop,"
He slowly explained to me how he managed to locate the bomb that was inside the boiler and how he needed to alter time so that he can delay the explosion while he was safely placing his workshop inside the crystal ball.
"You never told me about that,"
He only patted my shoulder and slowly walked straight towards the ball and began to rotate it to the South.
"We'll have to change location Kaoma, any suggestions?"
My eyes slowly turned to Leda who was still unconscious and Lucan must've noticed the look of concern in my eyes.
"We'll have to tag her along; I'll explain everything to Myrtle,"
I sat on the floor to calm my mind.
"Renfrew,"
I said as I held Leda's hand and began to press it lightly.
