"Wait, you're not in the mood to visit the sea wall?"
I nodded at Lulu as we continued to walk down the grocery aisle.
"Well, that's why I brought you here,"
She quickly dismissed the fact that I was trying to avoid the sea wall and on to check for some chocolates that we will be using for the soufflé.
"I'm glad that you finally had an interest in baking,"
I only scratched my head and smiled shyly at her.
"Well, since we have free time on Monday, how about you teach me how to make dumplings as well?"
She suddenly stopped and gave me a weird look.
"Are you trying to avoid someone?"
"Huh? No! Who am I avoiding anyway?"
I told her, but she seemed dissatisfied with my answer.
"Tinny, we've been friends for a long time. Is there something bothering you?"
How am I supposed to answer her question without freaking her out?
"Tinny, I thought I made this clear before,"
Should I tell her or should I just keep to myself? I mean, I know Lulu was only trying to help. But, if she also knew about the bizarre events I am experiencing right now, it would only mean she will be indirectly involved in the situation.
"It's complicated,"
She slowly placed her hand on my shoulder and smiled at me.
"I understand if you won't tell me," she said as she slowly placed a huge bar of chocolate in the cart.
"Tinny, if you're ready to tell me, don't skip the fun details, okay?"
I hugged her from behind her back to which she responded with a quick pinch on my cheek.
"Now, how about we also make some churros?"
I only nodded as we continued our search for the remaining ingredients. While we continued to walk down the aisle I realized that everyone was staring at us. Lulu suddenly gripped my arm and slowly squeezed it.
"Hey, is it me or do you also notice that everyone is staring at us?"
I slowly nodded my head and we continued to walk a little faster. We both looked back and noticed that everyone was walking in our direction.
"Is this a prank?" Lulu asked.
I immediately grabbed Lulu's hand and dashed to the nearest fire exit. The people started to run after us and created weird growling noises. When we finally reached the fire exit we suddenly stop when we saw a man crawling down and blocked the door.
We both froze as we stared at his bloodshot eyes as he continued to salivate. I immediately covered Lulu's mouth to prevent her from screaming and pulled her once again to escape the mob.
The odd man continued to follow us and created a strange sound. Footsteps of a hundred people suddenly rushed towards our direction as we sprinted to get away from the strange man on the ceiling.
"Are they possessed or what?!"
"I don't know,"
I screamed back at Lulu as we immediately closed the door and locked it. We immediately headed down with caution. I held Lulu's hand tightly when we finally arrived at the ground floor of the supermarket.
"Tinny, what if they're also waiting for us outside?"
I stared at Lulu and patted her head lightly.
"Then, we have to run for it,"
We're both shaking and scared as we got up and opened the door to the underground parking lot. We quickly headed where I parked my car but as I fumbled for my car keys.
"Tinny? What's wrong?"
I felt the earth shake beneath me and I jolted and quickly grabbed Lulu as we rolled underneath my car. The weird growling sounds became louder as they got closer towards us. It was later followed by another growl from a lion or a big cat. I covered Lulu's mouth as we watch the people walk in zigzags and passed by our car.
When we can finally breathe I held Lulu even tighter when we heard weird scratching sounds from afar. We slowly averted our gazes towards the direction of the sound and froze as we stared at the odd man crawling under every car and breaking every door using its long talons.
A tear escaped from Lulu's eyes as she held my hand tightly. She turned away as I watch the creature slowly heading in our direction. He suddenly stops seven cars away from where we were hiding and sniffed in the air. His bloody orbs glowed and he suddenly started to move in a weird circular motion.
We heard a loud crash from the other side of the parking lot followed by blaring sounds of car alarms. We dared not to take a look at what's going on and stayed in our hiding spot. How can I save us from this dilemma?
"Unexpected problems will always have answers that will surprise you,"
I slowly closed my eyes and tried to concentrate on creating a miracle in which I am not even sure. Suddenly I felt my left hand grew warmer and something beneath us glowed softly. Lulu was only staring at me with bewilderment in her eyes as she took my hand from her mouth and stared at the soft blue light. The odd creature suddenly began to move and the crashing sound began to grow louder.
I closed my eyes and upon the snap of my fingertips, everything became silent. Lulu and I exchanged glances as we stared at the odd creature's bloody orbs, but it wasn't moving. His long talons were inches away from my face, screaming for my blood. We rolled out of my car and patted the dust from our clothes.
"Tinny, what did you do?"
I lifted my head and stared at the mob that was also running in our direction. The odd creature must've alerted them but where did the crashing sounds come from? Lulu's hands were suddenly all over my face. She dared not to pinch me fearing that whatever trick I did to freeze them might disappear.
"Tinny, this is amazing!" Our emotions were mixed. It was obvious that she was confused, scared, and happy at the same time while I was on the verge of crying because I'm scared for our lives.
"We better move, now," She said as she grabbed my hand and placed a key on my palm.
It was a duplicate, one I gave to Lulu if she ever needed my car.
"Tinny, we better move before these creatures move again,"
I nodded as I immediately unlocked the door and went inside. Lulu immediately buckled up her seat belt as I slowly moved our way out from the creature underneath my car. When I finally got out of the parking space we checked the creature for the last time and it was still frozen from its place.
We immediately moved away from the mob that was chasing us and drove as fast I could. Myrtle won't be happy and pleased at the same time when she hears about our encounter and I better start explaining these weird things to Lulu and I also need to prepare me for the worst-case scenario.
