Chereads / Dragon Online: Golden Arrow / Chapter 2 - Character Selection

Chapter 2 - Character Selection

After the game started, Yulsa sight turned pitch black before the blinding light appeared, and he zoomed in on the character selection process.

He was now standing in the center of four pillars were a different class engraved on it with details.

Swordsman, Mage, Shield Bearer, and lastly the Marksman.

According to some sources, each path has an awakening process. For example, Mage.

Mage, he or she can awaken his next class by leveling-up, either a black mage or light mage, it's all on your choice.

But that doesn't mean the game can force you to stick on these class routes. This game is a very versatile one. If you don't one either of these two, you can just go with your own preferences. If you like [Fire Magic] that much, you can just learn every fire skill on the game and you'll be a fire mage class. Albeit it doesn't have a title, it is close to one.

These three classes have each unique awakening except for one, the "Marksman". Even though you can pick either being full DPS or Full agility, it is still the straits of the ordinary archers. Neither naught of a change.

Marksman can still learn magic skills though, like for example [Fire Arrow] or [Frost Bite], or anything in particular as long the game permits its mechanism, but it'll only stay like that.

But there's no loss on this condition, after all, this game is a free-base choice game mechanics! You can be anything you want!!

Heck! The game developer even said that players can equip a sword despite what class you are as long as you practice it hard to be proficient! Proving that this game doesn't restrict you in many ways, it was truly a free world of surprises and adventures!

Yulsa knew that he will not excel in this game so he'd choose the marksman in the first place. He has different reasons.

First, he is poor, so there's no way that he can compete with everyone else in gears when the game allowed the trading and auction gears on the internet.

Second, he can't let his gears go-to waste when things go south. At least being a marksman, he has a chance to flee when the boss is slaughtering his teammates.

Third, if he died, his precious gears have a chance to be drop when he died, either to the player or the mob. So, better safety on the rear.

So Marksman is the most suitable class for him. Last, he doesn't want to do the hassles work by kiting and tanking the mobs, so that's a plus!

He actually wanted to go with the Mage class. Just imagine, if he has abundant mana on his arsenal, he could become a "Magic Knight" swinging his sword with flames and magic.

But still, he chooses-

"I choose "Marksman".

[Are you sure? Yes/No]

"Yes!"

The "Marksman" pillar erupted in a pillar of light beam after the game confirmed his class of choice.

Instantly, there's a dull-looking man in his front with no expression on his face. It was a character appearance selection

Yulsa tried to copies his original appearance with a few changes, like his body. It became more chiseled and appealing, and he increases his height a few centimeters.

After all, every idol in virtual games have the same appearance in real life; to be easily recognized and be famous in both world. So why not go with the trend?

He already dreams that he might become popular someday, so he was just preparing for that day to come. A precaution if you might say. Just by thinking about that day, Yulsa couldn't help but laugh in a narcissistic way, out of his personality.

Hey, men's gonna dream! He thought.

His character is now equipped with basic archer leather equipment. His short black hair is silky as it swayed, his jaws are now well-defined, and his body is chiseled in a petite way.

"Good. Good." He nodded in approval.

After being please with his character he clicks "OK".

[Please choose a suitable name for your character. Only a maximum of 30 letters]

"Y.U.L.S.A. Yulsa!"

He spoke every letter he typed in the translucent keyboard on his front. Of course, it was - again, trending among virtual idols.

Out of many pros of "Dragon Online", the only cons that fans don't like is that the race has defaulted to the human race.

The game developer already stated this fact which garnered criticism from the masses. The game developer is known to be strict, so they didn't care about the critic and set their eyes on the first idea of the game.

But in the last second, they grant the fans' plea, at least. Out of 100.000 players, only 1 player can be chosen to be an elf race at random, that's all.

(A/N: There are no animal-kins in this game. Only elf and human)

The reason why the developers decided that the elf race is off-limits; because the elf is affiliated in both magic/mana and elements.

If elves cast a [Wind Blade] for example, there's a chance that it'll be amplified by 25% more damage. Just imagine a random elves cast a skill of 75% Crit damage which will be pretty depressing if it's hit you, they can one-shot everyone if they have enough damage on their stats.

So whoever has been chosen to be an elf, they're bound to be a great player or decent enough even without high-class equipment!

Yulsa knew that he has already no chance of being an elf because if he is, the character that would respawn on his front would be the elf race.

Done with all of the preparation. Yulsa clicked the respawn button to start his journey. The location of the kingdom he'll be respawning is random just like the rest of the players.

"Adventure, Here I come!!"
