Chapter 58 - Sand Castles In The Beach

Elizabeth and her group weren't the only ones who were spell bounded by Ace and his family, every other person on the beach was. The boys who were talking about Elizabeth's beauty a few minutes ago were walking towards Ace's group with an entranced expression.

For them, Elizabeth was a beauty that they felt they weren't worthy enough to be near, but in Maeve's case, they just weren't able to think that much. It was like they were actually spell bounded. Walking like the mindless puppets.

Ace, of course, noticed those two weird boys coming towards them and then he glanced at Gracie who was still looking around with deep thoughts, obviously thinking about things to do now that she is finally here.

Of course, Ace and Maeve weren't planning on disturbing her while she was thinking about those genius plans in her mind, and Ace won't allow these fools to do that either.

'It'll be a little troublesome but I should just get rid of them…' Ace thought inwardly.

As if knowing his intention, Maeve held his hand before shaking her head as their eyes met, she then turned towards the men walking towards her and tilted her head as a smile adorned her face.

Suddenly, a faint silvery glow surfaced on her eyeballs before it disappeared the next instant, and as if a group of mindless puppets commanded by their master, the two men turned back and walked from where they came from.

"Well, that's much more efficient…" Ace admitted. Killing them in front of this big crowd would have been a little troublesome.

However, there was one person who furrowed her brows when she noticed those men turning back. It was Elizabeth, though she said that Ace is weak, she wasn't sure. She just made that theory for her own mental peace. By using those idiots, she actually wanted to prove her theory, more to herself than anyone else.

Therefore she was actually looking forward to those men trying to flirt with that woman. But seeing how they just turned around without even doing a thing, shattered her hope and she snorted inwardly.

'Hmph! Balls-less Idiots!'

She then looked around trying to find if any other person trying to go near them but since everyone saw those two men turning around, everyone who was even thinking of trying just turned around and continued with what they were doing. Making her shake her head in disappointment.

"Oh, I know!" Suddenly, Gracie exclaimed.

"We will make sandcastles first! Like the ones in the stories!"

"Sand Castles? Do you want me to make on-"

"Oh, that's a good idea, sandcastles, yup, that's smart, you should go and try to make one" Maeve interrupted Ace who was ready to make a huge Earth Castle mixed with a little Metal Qi. Obviously not what little Gracie was talking about.

Ace also realized what Gracie was talking about and nodded, "Do you want me to help you?"

"Mhm!"

"Alright, let's start"

"Okay, okay, hold your horses you two, first we will have to set those seats and umbrella-like thing like all the others have, only then will we start with anything else"

"Like those beautiful things?" Gracie pointed out.

"Mhm," Maeve nodded as the three walked towards the shop that sold the Folding chair along with parasols.

Ace quickly bought the parasol Gracie chose, and since it was Gracie's choice, it was full of different colors. Gracie graciously permitted Maeve to choose the chairs and Maeve chose 3 comfortable-looking, light blue, pale yellow, and light green colored beach chairs.

The trio then chose a spot to sit and placed the parasol accordingly. Since Gracie was jumping impatiently; Ace shook his head and chuckled.

"Alright Gracie, take your mother with you and make big sandcastles while I set these things up, okay?"

"Ha~ Okies!" Gracie nodded quickly before grabbing her mother's hand with her small hand and pulled her towards a spot she chose to build her sandcastle. From her stories, she knew that sometimes water washes away all the hard work but since she was a smart big girl and not a little girl, she skillfully decided to choose a spot with a fair distance from the ocean.

Maeve, as she was being pulled by Gracie shook her head and just allowed her to do whatever she wanted.

"Mama! Quick! Sit down and help me" before Maeve knew, Gracie already issued the order, forcing her to crouch and start making a sandcastle.

"Ehehe~ The sand is so warm~" Gracie giggled as she rubbed her small hand on the warm and soft sand. Soon, a serious expression appeared on her face and she started making her sandcastle.

"Hmm? Can't this get taller?" After a while, Gracie complained as she realized that no matter how much sand she uses, it always slips down and the height stays the same.

"You have to use water so solidify the base, if you won't do it, your castle will be weak and will fall when the enemies attacks"

"What? No no no no, we can't allow that! I'll make the strongest castle there is, wait a minute, I'll bring the water!" Gracie exclaimed as she stood up with a determined expression. Obviously, she doesn't want to make a weak castle, it'll hurt her pride. Her castle should be strong enough to survive a full-blown 'attwack'.

She then dashed towards the ocean, wanting to collect the water within her small hands.

As soon as Gracie left, Maeve's expression changed from a carefree to a serious one. Ace then returned by her side and she questioned.

"Do you hear that?"

"Mhm, they are screaming from a while…" Ace replied nonchalantly.

"Well, it doesn't sound like they are screaming in joy"

"From what I could guess, they are attacked by a fairly strong beast, hence the panic"

"Hmm? Beasts? Isn't this area farther from the Wilderness?"

"I don't know, I think that beast just snuck its way in"

"How far are they?"

"20 km away, I don't think there will be any impact here" Ace nodded.

"But it feels like the beast is walking in this way"

"Meh, it's 20 km, I think people will deal with it before it can even reach here" Ace shrugged to which Maeve nodded.

"Besides, we have something much more important to deal with" Ace spoke as he pointed towards Gracie who was walking towards the Ocean 3rd time as all the water she collected in her small hands fell on the ground before she could bring it.

Maeve chuckled wholeheartedly as she saw Gracie running towards them at the maximum speed her little legs could allow but it caused the water to fell even quicker. Gracie's expression dimmed and soon as Ace noticed it he called.

"Gracie! Gracie! Look what I have here. This will help you"

Ace quickly made a small bucket through earth Magic, he kept it as lightweight as possible so that his little girl could pick it up easily.

Gracie came running towards Ace while a drop of sweat appeared on her forehead due to all that running.

"Use this to collect water, it won't fall that way" Ace suggested as he handed the bucket to Gracie.

immediately, Gracie's eyes shined brightly as she exclaimed, "Papa! You are so smart! I never thought of using it!

Papa, you are the best!!"

Ace, who was being praised by Gracie felt his nose elongating, while he puffed his chest in pride.

"Hahaha~ you are the best too!" Ace replied as he laughed.

Maeve had the urge to facepalm herself but endured it.

Gracie then jumped walked towards the ocean with a small bucket in her hand and prepared to make the biggest and the strongest castle anyone has ever seen.

Author: Sorry about the chapter rate for the past few days, I won't say I was very busy doing something important, I'll be really honest.

I was binge-reading a novel and ended it yesterday.

So now I will have time to write more chapters and will also try to increase the release rate even further.

Thank you <3
