As Ace questioned, others' eyes turned wide before they turned towards Dake who paled.
"Y-You… you never said that you w-were a fire mage!" Dake roared.
"Don't tell me you didn't investigate before accusing me" Ace's smirk widened and Dake paled.
The other officers started to understand the crux of the situation.
"I…" Dake tried to answer but no words left his mouth.
"So, Mr. Wilder. Is there anything else you wanted to ask?" Ace questioned.
"…" Wilder remained silent and just glared at Dake.
How could he not know what was happening? It was pretty clear that Dake was bribed by someone who wanted to blame Ace. It is a pretty common occurrence and Wilder would have ignored it if weren't for Ace, who was standing in their hall with a smile and asking for a huge compensation.
"Mr. Ace, I know that my subordinate might have made a mistake but it doesn't mean that you are off the hook either. What if you actually have dual elements?" Wilder questioned.
"Oh? Do you think I am Fire and a wind mage? Do you think I am stupid to stay in this backward city if I was that strong?" Ace questioned.
"..." Wilder remained silent for a long time, Of course, he knew that if Ace was that strong, he would have already left the city, or would have controlled the city through his powers.
"Okay, Mr. Ace, I admit defeat, I will compensate for the 'Mental impact' this turn of events might have made on you, but… can you give me some face and lower the price. You can think of me owing you a favor" Wilder answered.
"Huh? Why would I want you owing me a favor? Just give me the money!" Ace answered and wilder's mouth twitched.
"You! Aren't you going too far? You do know that this is just a branch of enactment union, don't you? Do you think you can threaten us and get away with this? Do you know what will happen if a superior comes here?" Wilder roared in anger.
"Heh! Who are you kidding? Do you think a superior will come and fight for your sake? Like anyone would believe that crap. Just give me the money or else I won't hesitate to take it myself, but of course, that way I have to go through all of your burned corpses" Ace spoke in a cold tone as the temperature around the room decrease.
The Aura emitting from Ace became so dense that the air turned heavy. It was even difficult to breathe under that pressure. The weak-willed lost consciousness while Wilder's legs turned weak.
"I… I will compensate for your loss..." Wilder bit his lips and finally gave in as he knew he didn't stand a chance against the monster in front of him. The ominous pressure disappeared and Wilder signaled one of his subordinates to bring the money.
…
"You should have paid sooner; do you know how bad I feel after threatening you? I mean, I do live for justice after all…" Ace spoke as he counted the money while others had the urge to cough blood. Wilder kept glaring at Dake, who knew that his end won't be a good one. Dave was even cursing the one who bribed him and was even considering ratting him out.
Ace left the hall in a joyful mood as he was able to earn free money. About the one who bribed Dake? Well, Enactment Union should take care of him and if not, Ace himself would deal with him if he tries something funny again.
Ace returned to his courtyard with a happy look but then he saw Maeve sitting in the chair with a worried expression.
"What happened love?" Ace questioned.
"Mm? Ace? There is a problem" Maeve answered.
"What happened?"
"Gracie's clothes that we brought from Herferd, they won't fit her after few more months, we need to find good qualities clothes for her" Maeve replied.
"Hmm... that is a major problem... Alright, then we will go find the best tailor in the city! Our nightingale won't be wearing poor-quality clothes!" Ace announced.
"Wait… why are you back so early today?" Maeve questioned and Ace's smile widened. He then explained everything that happened inside Sect Master Kalm's courtyard.
"Well, isn't that convenient" Maeve smiled and sealed Ace's lips.
"Ehehe~" Gracie giggled as she saw her mother and father touching their faces.
"Alright! Let's find the best tailor in the city!" Ace exclaimed as he picked Gracie.
"Pwapa~" Gracie spoke and Ace tightened his hug.
The three left the courtyard and Ace walked towards an inner disciple.
"Umm… Hey, you there, can you tell me where the best tailor shop inside the city is?" Ace questioned.
"Hu- Ahh! Elder Ace!?" The girl exclaimed as she saw Ace approaching her.
"Elder Ace! A pleasure to meet you! My nam- umm I mean, the best tailor shop right? Y-yeah I know, I can even take you there! P-please! F-follow me!" The girl stammered due to surprise while Ace just nodded.
The girl walked out of the Sect while other disciples looked in her direction, of course, they weren't looking at her but towards the Divine Pair that was walking behind her but either way, the girl had a proud smile on her face.
"The best Tailor Shop in the city is owned by a girl named Rebecca, she is very enthusiastic about clothes and only sells the best quality ones. Though her prices are a little high, it should be nothing for Elder Ace. I heard that even nobles from other cities come to Miss Rebecca…" The disciple continued as they were on their way towards Rebecca's shop.
"That is the place you are looking for, Elder Ace" The girl pointed forward.
"Thank you very much, Disciple Claire" Ace thanked.
"T-Thank you! I-I mean! P-pleasure's all mine!" The Girl bowed quickly and replied. She had a deep blush on her face while at the same time, her mind was filled with fantasies.
She turned around robotically and started walking in a weird way. It was fortunate that Ace and Maeve weren't able to see the perverted look on her face. The girl wiped off her drool and walked while the scene of Ace thanking her repeated inside her mind, of course, in a 'lot' better way, and Maeve or Gracie were nowhere near them.
Ace and Maeve walked towards the shop Claire pointed, the shop itself wasn't especially big and wasn't filled with customers but the polished furniture showed that the business was doing well.
Ace saw a beautiful woman looking in her 30s sitting on the counter. The woman had blonde hair and a curvy body, her curves looked alluring but that wasn't what garnered Ace's attention, it was her ears. She had 3 inches long, pointed ears, her bright green colored eyes, and her juicy looking lips gave her an attention-seeking appearance.
"Doesn't that hurt?" Ace questioned.
"What are you talking about, sir?" Rebecca questioned in a polite tone.
"Oh, I am sorry about him, he was just asking about that thing you are wearing on your ears, please don't mind" Maeve answered.
"What thing?" Rebecca questioned
Maeve pointed at her ears and answered, "The thing you use to make your ears look like that"
"Hmm? It is natural, these are my real ears"
Seeing their confused expressions, Rebecca smiled.
"You don't know about the Elves?"
"Elves?" Maeve questioned.
"Well, I belong to a race called Elves, we Elves, just like you humans, are an intelligent race. We are blessed by nature and we most likely awaken Natural elements" She briefed with a smile.
"Can I touch your ears?" Maeve questioned to which Rebecca blushed.
"Umm… you can't… these… the ears of us Elves are our sensitive points…" Rebecca answered with a red face that boosted her cuteness. She stole a glance on Ace and saw him standing still, completely unbothered by her looks. He just had a friendly smile on his face.
'Am I that unappealing?' Rebecca questioned herself but then she glanced towards Maeve and smiled wryly, 'Maybe I am. I mean, he can a person who is accompanying a goddess like her, can be enchanted by me?'
Rebecca shook her head before asking, "So, how can I help you with?"
"Oh, someone recommended this place to us, they said that this is the best shop that only deals with best quality clothes" Maeve spoke and Rebecca nodded proudly.
"We would like to see the softest and the best material you have to make clothes for a baby" Maeve requested.
"For a baby… please wait for a second, I will bring it in a moment" Rebecca spoke and walked away.
She returned after a while with a roll of red-colored cloth.
"This is the best material I have. It is perfect for a baby. It is soft and will make a baby feel comfortable, while the clothes we make will provide good mobility to this little doll" Rebecca explained and smiled while pointing towards Gracie who giggled.
Maeve held the cloth between her fingers and judged the quality through softness, moments later, her expression turned uncertain as she glanced towards Ace. Ace understood what she wanted and repeated what she did.
Moments later, he glanced towards Rebecca and spoke.
"Show me a better one"
