As elder Ryan briefed Ace about the sect, they entered a building and walked towards a particular room.
"This is your class, Elder Ace. I will be staying together with you for today but you are all on your own from tomorrow. Don't worry though, if you face any troubles, just give me a call and I will help you" Ryan spoke, Ace nodded and they entered the room.
There were around 60 disciples in the class, all having affinity with fire and most of them were in their 20s.
*Gasps*
Many girls gasp as they saw Ace entering the class along with elder Ryan. Some even bolder ones questioned.
"Elder Ryan, is he a new disciple? But shouldn't he be in the new disciples' class? Or is it that due to his extraordinary talent, he was directly made an outer disciple?" A girl questioned as she gazed at Ace with a seductive look.
The girl was fairly good looking, blue colored hairs, and white-translucent skin with long eyelashes, rosy lips, and a thin nose. Her chest wasn't something she was proud of but it gave her a unique charm. She was Frankie Zoltz, a girl aspiring to be a strong fire mage.
While the girls were trying to gain Ace's attention, the boys were gritting their teeth in anger, most of the boys had crush on many other girls from their class, but every girl was acting like a maiden in love when he appeared. The boys were infuriated, they just wanted to find a chance and teach the newbie a lesson he will never forget in his life.
The reason why they weren't able to distinguish Ace as an elder was because of his young-looking face, and he wore the same colored robes. The difference between an elder's robes and an outer disciple's robes was only the quality of the material, it can't be judged with just a look.
"He is, he is quite talented indeed, so much that he directly skipped being a disciple in the sect and is now an elder. He will be your fire element teacher" Elder Ryan announced with a smile.
"What…?" Many students had the same reaction. This young-looking boy was an elder? The guys who thought about teaching him a lesson immediately shivered. Some even more, as they had tried to provoke him through their expressions.
"Alright, now, Elder Ace, I would like you to introduce yourself" Ryan requested.
"Uhh… yeah… my name is Ace Vorste, you can call me Elder Ace, or Elder Vorste, whichever you like, it doesn't matter anyway. I am a fire mage who will be instructing you all. I hope we have a great time together" Ace lazily delivered the speech he prepared for a long time.
"Technically, it is now your turn to introduce yourselves, but I would rather not waste my tim- wait! I mean, yeah, you all should introduce yourselves" Ace quickly changed his approach in between in speech.
He wasn't here to teach them anything, he just wants to waste time and return to his empress and nightingale. Why wouldn't he waste time in introductions? It was genius!
The disciples and elder Ryan had weird expressions but they all ignored the sudden change and the disciples started introducing themselves.
"My name…"
…
The introduction continued for a while as Ace looked at the students with a lazy gaze.
He only had one word to describe them.
Trash.
They didn't possess anything similar to what an aspiring mage should have. Their body language, their aura, movements, posture, everything, all were trash.
The remaining mood Ace had to teach them was gone after the introduction ended. The girls gazed at him with a seductive look, while the boys had uncertain expressions.
Ace decided to ignore everything as he was just here to waste time.
"Alright, now that the introductions are done, let me know what you have learned till now"
"So, what do you know about fire?" Ace questioned lazily.
"…"
"Oh! I Know! I know!" The disciples thought for a moment before many raised their hands excitedly, even Ace was taken back.
'Did I really judge them too quickly?' he thought inwardly before he picked Frankie to answer.
"So, what do you know about fire?"
"It's hot!" She answered.
"..." And Ace turned silent.
"…can't argue with that" It took some time for him to register it, he then questioned.
"Anyone else wants to try?"
Another girl raised her hand and Ace nodded at her.
"Fire has many uses…" She muttered softly.
"Like?"
"We can use it for cooking… or when we feel cold… or…"
"…"
"Do I have to teach them?" Ace finally questioned Elder Ryan.
"Um… they might be a little tough to handle…" Elder Ryan nodded with a wry smile while Ace sighed.
"…we can als-"
"Alright, stop" Ace ordered and the girl who was still telling the uses of fire stopped and sat down.
"I guess this theory must be pretty boring for you guys, why don't we go for duels instead?" Ace suggested.
"Yeah! We should have duels!" The class responded with excited look.
"So, you have any practice grounds here?" Ace questioned.
"We do, I will take you there" Ryan answered.
They all followed Ryan to the practice grounds. It was spacious and had a ring in the center and the best thing was, it was right beside the wood element class, which means if anyone's injured, he or she can get treated instantly.
"Alright, who wants to fight?"
Many disciples raised their hands and Ace selected 2 boys.
The boys entered the ring with a proud look to which Ace nodded, at least they all weren't completely useless.
Maybe they just don't like theory, well, he can't blame them, even he doesn't like theory, practical knowledge, was more of his style.
"Fireball!" One of the boys roared as he cast his first spell.
The other rolled to the side before he dashed towards the boy as flames covered his fist.
"Blazing fist!" the other dodged nimbly and attacked again.
Ace nodded in satisfaction as the kids weren't as bad as he initially thought but he still had one question in his mind.
"Why are they shouting like idiots in between their fight?" Ace questioned.
"What are you talking about elder Ace, everyone is not a monster like you, they aren't experienced enough to cast their spells without saying its name. Even the inner disciples can't do it." Ryan smiled wryly.
"Huh?" Ace had a dumbfounded look.
'What do you mean that they can't cast a spell without saying its name?' Ace questioned inwardly.
He then turned towards the disciples who were fighting with each other, though their movements weren't exactly best, it wasn't bad either. The only problem is that they were shouting their spell's names giving their opponent a prior chance to counter it.
"Burning wall!"
A disciple cast the strongest spell he had, the fire Qi gathered and formed a huge, 3-meter tall wall of scorching flames that looked deadly. This was The Burning Wall, one of the stronger fire spells an outer disciple can have.
"Blazing fist!"
The other disciple was bold enough to meet the burning wall coming towards him with a flame filled fist.
*Boom*
The clash ended with the explosion and the disciple who used Blazing fist flew backward, but before his body could hit the ground, Ace appeared and caught him then Ace looked at the now 2.5-meter tall burning wall moving towards him, and with just a look, the fire subdued and the wall dissipated.
*Gasps*
Everyone present there including Elder Ryan gasped, even though the wall was weakened, it was still unbelievable for them that Ace managed to subdue it so easily.
"As expected of the elder who even the sect master praises, you are simply brilliant!" Elder Ryan praised and Ace just smiled.
"Take him to the infirmary" Ace ordered to one of the disciples and turned his gaze to the other.
"You did well, return to your seat" Ace ordered.
"Alright, next 2 disciples will be…" Ace continued.
...
While the disciples dueled, Ace walked towards Elder Ryan and questioned awkwardly.
"So… Mr. Ryan… what should I teach them…?"
As weird as this may sound, Ace had zero ideas about what to teach the disciples. They used something called spells while they fight and he has no idea what they are.
In Herferd, there was no need for these spells, mages fight while they summon their elements without any spells.
What mage does purely depends on his imagination and Elemental Qi he has.
Elder Ryan looked at Ace with a weird look so Ace explained.
"I mean, should I teach them swordsmanship or should I teach them basic hand to hand combat?"
"Elder Ace, you don't have to teach any of that, you just have to teach them how to enchant a spell more quickly and efficiently" Elder Ryan answered.
"Spells… okay… I understand… Alright… I will teach them spells…" Ace answered even though his mind was a mess.
How was he supposed to teach something he himself doesn't know?
'I think I need some basic knowledge about this world…'
With that thought in mind, Ace continued watching the disciples until it was time to leave.
