Chapter 8 - Chapter 8

Giving him another chance.

Meridith waited what Nemitz has to say.

Looking at the red head across from him.

Nemitz can't help but scream in his mind.

~What's with the 2-meter distance?! Do you have some restraining order against me?! C'mon! Your so-called husband beats this crap out of you almost every day and there's no stay away order from him. I just hold your wrist and defended myself!

"Uhm., what's up with this?"

"Are you finish? Cause if you are, I'll be taking a nap."

"Alright, alright… Sheesh…"

Peeking in the bedroom where Jacob was sleeping, making sure the sc*mbag is still asleep. Leaning towards Meridith so she could hear him clearly. At least trying to be, since he'll be lowering his voice.

"Uhm., how'd I become a slave?"

"So this is all about how'd you become a slave? You're wasting my time."

Before Meridith walked away again.

"Wait. Please just answer me. After this conversation, I promise I won't bother you no more. Just please…."

"Whatever. But answer mine first. Where did you come from? The other side of the mountain? A settlement? A bunker?"

Hearing that same question again but getting caught a glimpse of a small excitement in Meridith's eyes after saying her last word, bunker. Nemitz got to thinking…

~A settlement? Bunker? So there's no city out there? Maybe there is, but she just doesn't know, not enough information. uhmm…they don't believe me when I say I belong in a country. Countries don't exist anymore? So there's no functioning government?

"Hey, are you still going to play dumb? Or are you gonna answer me?"

"… I don't know? I mean I forgot. I just woke up and I'm already here. Not only that, but I forgot my past. I think I may have amnesia." Hope that's gonna be enough for her. There's no better excuse than forgetting everything, after all.

Doubting him, Meridith asked "So why tell us you came from a country?"

"Uhh…, I just thought maybe I did? It's not exactly a memory. More of a…y'know, a natural response…? Anyway, I already answered you. And I'm just gonna get straight with you here Meridith, I don't remember anything since the time I came here. So I thought maybe asking you would jog my memory."

"So you don't remember anything. That's…convenient."

"Can you now please answer me, how'd I even become a slave?"

"Isn't that common sense but whatever. He 'captured' you. That already makes you a slave." says Meridith while pointing at Jacob.

"That's it? But he didn't capture me…he just brought me here and besides that just makes anyone a slave ain't it?"

"Well duh… Only if you're strong enough idiot. You can't just pick someone and says they're a slave if you can't even exert authority. And with that body of yours I doubt you could win a fight with that a*shole and besides he wouldn't be keeping you anyway."

"….what do you mean not keeping me?"

"Isn't that obvious, he's planning to sell you when you guys arrive to town."

"What?!" abruptly standing up. Nemitz almost trip the chair from falling. Looking at Jacob whose still asleep Nemitz almost can't help himself from going over there and choke the sc*mbag to death. But still remembering Meridith, he isn't sure if she'll cooperate. After all, some battered wives still stayed with their torturers because of some blind love or something.

"I don't mean to pry but why do you love him?"

Hearing the question from Nemitz, Meridith almost took the chair she's sitting on and threw it at him.

"Are you an idiot?! What kinda sh*t are you saying! Do you not have eyes you a*shole?!"

On instinct Nemitz can't help putting he's arms up in case Meridith threw something at him, and if that glare of hers could kill, he'd already be dead.

"Sorry. But if you don't love him why stay here?"

Sighing… "Okay. You're a certified idiot. You don't seem to notice, but we're almost in the same boat. The only difference is he's keeping me while selling you. After all, I'm his f*ck toy."

Shocked of what he just heard. Nemitz almost staggered from the revelation.

~Isn't this too dark? Isn't this sh*t like some castro kidnappings!

But after calming down, he felt guilty cause not only did he not help her, he's now glad that Meridith would most likely help him in killing the mothaf*cker.

The only problem is they can't kill him now. He just realized that both of them can't survive out there without him. Or else Meridith already escaped from Jacob the first thing he went to town.

They have no idea where they are!

And going out there in long periods of time would just get them killed.

~There still options. I could just torture the guy.

Looking at Jacob who's still asleep. Nemitz started making plans.

"Meridith, I need your help"

"Help of what?" crossing her arms, already guessing what Nemitz wants but isn't sure if she could trust him.

And besides even if they succeeded on killing Jacob, nothing would change for her. She is likely just transferring owners and looking at Nemitz, he doesn't exactly inspire confidence to survive out there.

Seeing Meridith's doubtful expression, Nemitz is force to think fast how he could convince her to cooperate with him. After all, he couldn't do this alone.

After an hour of arduous coaxing that just evolves into shameless blackmailing, threats, goading, sweet-talking and just Nemitz ending in asking for forgiveness.

He finally persuaded Meridith in helping him. Well, mostly he just prattles on this past hour reminding Meridith all her experiences with Jacob. After all, women are emotional creatures, and vengeance is a great motivator on both sexes.

As they we're about to execute his plan. Nemitz is starting to feel nervous, realizing what his about to do, he can't help having second thoughts.

All his life he'd never experience any true hardships, and not once did he do anything to inconvenience anyone. Ever. But as he looked at the time, it's already 4 in the afternoon. And Jacob might wake up any time now.

Psyching himself up, reminding that this is a do-or-die situation.

~I'm still a f*cking virgin. And I'm about to assault someone like it's the only choice! Isn't there supposed to be an order to these things?! F*ck it!

As he creeps slowly on the side of the bed. Trying to find the best angle to choke hold Jacob, and looking at Meridith ready to smack Jacob with a frying pan. He lunged.

Startled awake, Jacob felt someone is trying to take hold of his neck from the back. About to grab the arm who's about to choke him, he saw Meridith already swinging something at him,

Seething in rage.

"Is that a f*cking frying pan?!"

Swinging down her frying pan, Meridith can't help smiling. She's even giddy just imagining what he'll do to this mothaf*cker.

~After I'm finished with you, you'll wish that you've never been born!

As she keeps swinging at him seeing the rage in Jacob's eyes slowly turning into fear. Meridith felt even more excited and can't stop herself from laughing maniacally.

While Meridith is enjoying herself smacking Jacob with the side of her frying pan and Jacob busy deflecting and guarding his body and face. Nemitz finally took hold of Jacob's neck and started choking him with all of his strength. But as he watched Meridith doing her own thing. He can't help having this weird feeling.

~I think she doesn't even need my help in subduing Jacob. She's already doing a pretty good job. Women are scary. Must not forget to stay in her good graces from now on.

After half an hour of wrestling and smacking, Jacob is finally knocked out.

Out of breath Nemitz tried to stabilize himself,

"Sh*t, never thought Jacob was that strong."

After recovering a little they tied Jacob using the bedsheets and a leg from the table using as a pole. Tying his hands on his back together with the end of the pole, same with tying his legs on the other end.

Checking if everything's ready. Nemitz threw cold water on Jacob's face to wake him up.

Jolted awake from the cold, Jacob realizes he can't move. Seeing Nemitz and Meridith's faces, Jacob almost forgot his situation he started screaming profanities at them and even tried lunging them. When that didn't work he tried breaking free from his bindings while the duo just looks at him as if he was just a fish on a chopping board.

After a few minutes of struggling Jacob finally got tired. As he was about to rest for another round. He was splashed with cold water again, but before he could even recover from his surprise he was smack from the side of his face by a frying pan, screaming profanities and threats he realizes at the corner of his eyes he saw Meridith's face slowly getting closer to him with a sinister smile on her face, whispering in his ear like an intimate lover. Hearing her detail on what she has about to do to him with such a seducing voice. The fear that his been suppressing all this time is slowly revealing itself.
