Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Immortal Emperor (part 2)

[Short term invincibility deactivated]

As soon as the evaluation ended, the invincibility which the system had given out was canceled. Daniel woke up, confused about what he saw and didn't believe it. He was sure if he opened up his character window, he would see the 2 star "Sword Knight" class he was used to.

"Character Info", Daniel said and a window appeared in front of him.

"Necromancer!?"

Daniel was shocked, he lived for almost fourty years with a warrior class and was able to make a reputation for himself despite it's low 2-star rank. He knew how to raise the class, how to upgrade and train his stats and how to fight as a warrior. But now he received a magic class? Although it had the highest rating, he had no real knowledge on how to raise a magic type. He knew enough about necromancers fighting style, as he had fought alongside some, but he never really liked it.

Necromancers used undead to fight their enemies, while they hid behind them and attacked from afar, which didn't really suit Daniel's style. He was used to fight his enemies face to face, with a sword in his hand. His swordsmanship back then had been extraordinary but now he was supposed to be a magician?

"Ok, even if I have that class, maybe I can still use a sword? I'll have to improvise a bit, but I could maybe try to aim for a magic type swordsman.", he was lost in his thoughts until he heard some noise from the outside. He went over to look out of the window and watched the street below.

Daniel was startled. He jumped away from the window and hit the light switch, to turn the lights off. It was the middle of the night but Daniel could still see the creatures outside. Tall and muscular, with green skin, pointy ears and two big tusks from their lower jaw, coming out of their mouths. Orcs!

Daniel saw three orcs in the front, each of them riding on a huge wolf. They were different fron the rest, as they all had red skin, which distinguished them as high orcs. The three of them had black hair and similar facial features, the only difference between them were their haircuts and the gear they wore.

The one in the middle had long hair which he wore openly, reaching his shoulders. He wore a robe, so Daniel guessed he was a shaman. Usually shamans had a high rank in orc's hierarchy. Depending on the situation a shaman might be a clan leader or a clan leaders advisor.

The right one had short hair than the first one, which he pulled back and and bound with a leather band. He was dressed in a leather armor and covered in many scars. By the way he looked, Daniel knew he was an orc berserker and a high ranking one at that. He also carried two deadly looking axes, one stuck in his belt on each of his sides.

The last one had a long braid that fell on his back. He was covered in heavy plate armor from head to toe, a huge kite shield attached on his back and a sword on his left side. That one was a warlord.

After seeing the three of them together he remembered who they were. The Orcs' Crimson Triplets, leaders of the Gan'Har clan. The shaman Baru'Gan of the green flame. The berserker Iru'Gan the hungry beast and the warlord Mheru'Gan Elvendeath. They were fearsome warriors who, in the past, had ruled the northern part of the town Daniel lived in, before setting out to conquer more parts of the area.

Daniel had not been a part of the group that had fought them, but he remembered that the wars the Gan'Har clan fought, had lasted for a long time and had caused many casualties on all sides. He knew that fighting them was necessary to prevent thousands of deaths, but right now it would basically be suicide.

Daniel tried to count the orcs following the triplets. There were around four hundred, a few dozen high orcs which could be distinguished by their red skin. The green skinned ones are regular orcs. There was women and children amongst them, counting them in would make it around eigth hundred. They also had a few dozen huge wolves with them, which their highest decorated and most acknowledged warriors used as mounts.

If Daniel still had his strength, it would take him a couple of minutes to mow them all down. He was even sure he could cut through all of them without receiving a single hit and he was not exaggerating. But he knew that wouldn't be a fair comparison. He had been an experienced warrior whose level was 773 while these orcs now had a level of around 30, as Daniel estimated. The highest leveled ones being the triplets at around level 40 to 50, so he thought.

He had a smile on his face, a violent smile, one that most people he knew had never seen on Daniel's face.

Daniel himself didn't realize it, but while he watched the orcs down there, his hands were twitching. Almost as if he couldn't wait until the day he was going to fight them..
