And what a doom it was...
...
I left the salon and headed in John's direction. He greated me with a smile as he opened the car door and closed it behind me. He got to the front seat and started driving. I was sat beside Keiser who looked at me with a blank stare.
"How long were you guys waiting for me?" It was just then that there was someone else in the passenger seat.
"Not long." John said looking at me through the rear view mirror.
"I'm still not talking to you John." I murmured. He frowned and placed his sights ahead. It almost made me feel guilty. Then I remembered what he did. My mood soured once again.
The car drove off and entered the highway. It was the beginning of dawn. The front lights of the vehicle were on full beam.
I couldn't shake the feeling of dread. Someone was following us. I brushed it off, thinking nothing of it.
My mind wandered. Probably if I was just the regular girl that I was a few months ago, I wouldn't think anything of it.
That wasn't the case anymore, I realized the situation that I was in- anything was possible.
So, I mentioned it to Kaiser. The mood in the car quickly changed to one of all seriousness. He alerted John and the other guy when he looked back and saw that there was indeed a car following us.
Keiser opened a secret compartment filled with guns and explosives. How could that much ammunition fit in the Cadillac, I had no idea.
"Take this," Keiser said, loading a gun and giving it to me.
"I'm sure you know how to use one," he presumed.
"How do you you kno-?"
"This is not the time for chitchating Liebling, shoot to kill."
I took the gun and removed the safety.
I was good at shooting guns, naturally so. The first time that I shot a glock, I hit the target. Probably it was coincidental, but I enjoyed it very much. The feeling of adrenaline was a high is that you could not get with recreational drugs. I felt so alive.
I was safe though, always safe. I knew my boundaries and kept within them.
But today I crossed those boundries. What do you have me doing Keiser?
I held my breath as the van came into view. With my body pumping is adrenaline, I located the target. I pressed the trigger and sent two rounds to the driver's head, the man's body falling lifelessly on the steering wheel. The van crashed into the bridge.
When I though it was over, two other vans appeared out of nowhere shooting the vehicle. I sat back down in the car. My heart was pounding out of my chest as John tried his best to avoid the bullets heading our way. We were outnumbered.
With my heart to beating it erratically, I looked over to Keiser. With all the chaos around us, his posture remained unmoving. The concentration on his face as he fired shots was unnerving. How could he be so calm?
I was knocked out of my thoughts when the rear windshield shattered. We were at a disadvantage. There were more people than I expected. I looked between Kaiser, the hidden compartment and the cars behind us. I put down the gun and reached over and grabbed a hand grenade.
"What the fuck are you doing?" he yelled over the noise as he looked towards me?
"Trying not to die!"
"Get down!"
I removed the safety pin and through it through the opening at the back of the car. It rolled under their van and blew it up. It crashed into the back of the van in front of it. They lost control of the vehicle and went over the bridge.
"Fuck was that Keiser?"
"Business."
"Get us out of here Paul." I sighed out of breath.
