Chapter 3 - 01

Aulani was level-headed and allowed nothing to ruin her mood, however, this day was different.

...

"Why is this happening?" I muttered in the abyss. I was alone with my cat— Dover who payed no attention to my disarray.

I was stunning— at least that is what the suitors in town believed. I had great luck but had not many friends due to constant jealousy. All women believed it to be a death sentence to interact with me.

I stayed downstairs on the comfy couch, alone, and in the dark. Soon I fell asleep.

Midnight arrived like a thief in the night, I heard loud noises that woke me up. Initially, I had thought it was Dover who was searching the pantry— a habit of his since week. However, this wasn't the case. After consistent and unusual sounds, I got up from the couch and went to the kitchen to see what was going on.

"Who is it?" I questioned. There was a masked man who wore gloves and had a rope in one hand and a bag in the other.

"What are you doing here?" I demanded.

"Listen to me," he said abruptly, "Come with me, do you understand me?

"Answer me, damn it!"

But I couldn't; I wanted to move, except my feet wouldn't carry me.

"What are you going to do to me?"

I had found the strength to speak up. I didn't know how long I'd be able to keep the act up.

"He wants you," He was coming closer. The silence in the house sent shivers up my spine.

My breathing became heavier, my thoughts were clouded with the unknown; what would this maniac do to me… and what did he mean by "He wants you." Who wants me?

His strong muscular frame lunged at me and threw the bag over my head as he saw that I was about to escape. He then tied the rope around my neck and limbs.

Paralyzed with fear, I knew not to fight this man— I'd lose for certain if I did.

Quaking with fear, the only thing I could do was sweat, from my armpits, my forehead, all over my body.

I struggled to escape his harsh grip but ended up tripping instead. He pushed me roughly back onto my feet.

He carried me to his truck and threw me in with ease. I was there for what felt like days. I constantly wondered when this nightmare was going to end.
