The most luxurious suite of the Paradise Hotel was very large, at least 400 square meters. The morning sunlight was very good, it was a warm light yellow. They covered the entire hall through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
Unfortunately, the atmosphere in the room did not suit the current scenery at all.
As soon as Bick's voice fell, Philip's eyes kept flashing with a dangerous light. He stared fiercely at the young man in front of him, as if he wanted to kill him with his eyes.
"Pita, pita..." the sound of the gun barrel hitting the side of his leg was very rhythmic. Bick looked at Philip fearlessly.
"Money is a good thing, but some people have the life to earn it, but not the life to spend it. What do you think, young man?" It was Philip who broke the silence. He still wanted to make one last effort, or it could be said that it was an ultimatum.
Whether it was gangsters or mercenaries, they were all just doing it for money. There were many ways to make money, and this involved the issue of cost-effectiveness.
Everyone knew that there were still many good things in the city. Even though the Apocalypse War had already passed a century, many of the things left in the city had already passed the expiration date.
However, even the rusted and dilapidated car wreckage could be sold for a lot of energy points.
Because mining in the wasteland world was very difficult, these car wreckage could be smelted into various metals. Most of the cold weapons used by the wasteland visitors came from this.
Not to mention, if they found a basement dug by a survivor of a city, the city would be the first to be attacked by biological weapons. Most of the city residents would have turned into zombies long ago, the basement where the materials were stored had basically never been used.
However, the price of attacking the city was too high. Very few forces would attempt to do that.
It was much easier to oppress the other wasteland visitors, especially those lone Rangers.
Obviously, Bick and Kate were treated like fat sheep.
A man and a woman were only two people, but they took out the expensive black bread and luncheon meat. How could this not make the various forces in free town jealous.
Bick naturally understood the reasoning behind this. Even the fact that there was a mercenary group behind Philip was still a question mark.
In fact, Bick didn't care about the 11,000 energy points. He just couldn't leave the impression of being easy to bully.
Otherwise, if he sold any more resources in the future, the result would be to contribute to others. This wasn't what Bick wanted.
All of this was just a thought in Bick's mind. It was impossible for his attitude to soften. After hearing Philip's words, he remained noncommittal and just stared at Philip quietly.
"F * CK, boss Philip gave you a way out, but you don't know how to be grateful?" The green-furred drew shouted, he turned to look at Philip and said, "Big Brother, let's just kill this guy and bring this woman back to have some fun. We can still sell her for a fortune later."
Hearing that, Kate's eyes flashed with the dangerous glint of a feline ready to hunt. The dagger hidden in her two forearms seemed like it would slide out at the next moment and cut the throats of the two bastards in front of her.
However, she did not dare to act rashly.
This was freedom town. It had rules. Those who killed would die. No one had ever been able to break this rule and escape the pursuit of freedom town's guards.
Thinking of this, Kate suddenly realized what the two guys in front of him were thinking. They were forcing Bick to make a move!
Seeing Philip nod gently, a hint of hesitation flashed in Drew's eyes, but he did not dare to not do it.
This was because this was the survival law of the Wasteland World. He had taken the money from Philip the Wild Beast. After five years of not having to worry about food and drink and flaunting his power, now was the time for him to return the favor.
He put on a lecherous look and reached out his trembling hand, wanting to caress Kate's cheek.
"No!"
"Bang!"
Kate's scream and gunshots rang out at the same time. She was not screaming in pain from being teased, but turned her head to stop Bick.
Unfortunately, she was still one step too late.
Bick's long spear was held very steadily, and he carelessly blew on the gunpowder at the muzzle.
"Stomp Stomp Stomp Stomp..." the sound of rapid but not messy footsteps sounded in the corridor outside. More than ten strong men with guns and knives rushed in.
"The murderer is dead. The guy who will shoot..." the manager of the Paradise Hotel was the one who led the way in. He had just shouted halfway when he felt as if someone was strangling his neck. He could no longer say the rest of his words.
Drew could feel that everyone's eyes were focused on him, and they were full of malice.
The cold sweat on his head kept dripping down, but he did not dare to wipe it off. Even though the salt in the sweat kept stimulating the wound on his cheek that had just been cut by a bullet, he still did not dare to move an inch.
"Paradise Hotel? The most luxurious and safest hotel in Liberty Town? Haha..." Bick put his long gun on his shoulder and said to the hotel manager who was in a dilemma at the door with an exaggerated tone.
"Sir, we..." the manager wanted to explain something, but he stopped awkwardly.
In front of smart people, many little tricks had no effect. In the end, they would only make people laugh at them.
Bick curled his lips and turned around without looking at the manager and the two hooligans, Philip and Drew. He hugged Kate, who was still confused, and laughed as he entered the bedroom.
Before closing the door, he said to the people outside, "Please take the two hooligans away and clean the room. Oh right, remember to close the door this time!"
There was complete silence outside, but both Bick and Kate knew that they would definitely do as they were told.
Kate turned her head and looked at Bick's profile carefully with a surprised look.
For the first time, she found out that the man who was easily knocked down by her shoulder throw, the man who had been peeping at her with lecherous eyes, the man who had been intimate with her yesterday, actually had such wisdom.
Although she didn't understand what had happened, there were still many details that she couldn't figure out.
But she knew that Bick had used his wisdom to resolve a crisis between the two of them.
Kate did not pursue the matter because she knew that her man would explain everything to her.
Sure enough, Bick walked to the bedside and leaned his spear against the headboard. He also put his hands on his head and leaned back.
Although his posture was very relaxed, his expression was very serious.
After seeing Kate's inquiring gaze, Bick explained, "This is just an appetizer. We were too ostentatious at the exchange yesterday. I didn't expect that just some brown bread and canned lunch meat would attract so many hungry wolves."
Kate opened her mouth, but Bick said first, "It's not your fault. I thought it was simple."
That being said, how could Kate not blame herself?
Bick didn't have any survival experience on the wasteland, so he didn't know how precious the things he took out were.
It was Kate who chose the free town because there were rules here. Unfortunately, she was a little naive.
Where are the real rules in the wasteland?
Survival of the fittest, survival of the fittest, those are the rules!
