Sharon was glad it had been a dinner invitation since she was hungry already.
When she got to the dinner table she noticed Mr Lancaster was seated at the head of the table and five unfamiliar young men were also seated around the table.
'Why does the fifth one look so familiar?' Sharon asked herself as she looked at him. Tobin met her gaze and was startled to see her in their house.
'The new family member was her? This mannerless girl?' He wondered as he narrowed his eyes at her and scowled.
She returned his scowl and felt like hitting her forehead when she remembered him. Of course Mr Lancaster was his father, and she had met him at that place on the day her father died. She briefly wondered what his name was and made up her mind she was going to torment him as much as she could.
Mr Lancaster said a short prayer and everyone started eating. It was rice served with jambalaya. Sharon couldn't remember the last time she had eaten anything so delicious.
As Sharon ate, she couldn't help but notice that the dinner table was very silent. No one said a single word on the table till they were all done with their meals.
"Sharon welcome to my home... Your new home." Mr Lancaster finally spoke up. "On my right hand is my first son Shaw, followed closely by my second son Dane. On my left is Hale and Winston the twins of the family. I am sure you have met my last son, Tobin."
She just nodded her head as sign she was following with the introductions while she checked out each of the guys.
"Boys, this is Sharon. Treat her as part of the family." Having said that he stood up and left the table. No one dared question him about how he came about with her since they all feared their father.
Sharon was surprised at the way she was welcomed into the family without any protest from anyone or at least a question. She shrugged her shoulders and concluded this family is strange.
She decided to do some observational studies of every one. She had this strange feeling she had met everyone of them before that day, and even stranger was the fact that she knew the names of the other four boys before they were mentioned. She felt softhearted towards them, unlike Tobin.
They all moved to the living room to have some chit chat. And though they were all reluctant to tell her anything. She was able to gather some information from the little they spilled.
Shaw started with the introductions, he was 24 years old and had been saddled with the responsibility of taking care of some of their father's business. She noticed he was a man of few words just like their father.
Next to him was Dane, 22year old. He was more of an athlete than a business man. He always shied away from any business responsibility. He has a dream to represent his country one day in the Olympics.
Hale was the the ladies man. He is 20 and already has more women than four of his brothers put together. He was never to be trusted in the issues of women.
Winston the older of the twin seemed to be the smartest in the family. Despite the fact that his father was rich, he was on ten different scholarships for his success in the academia.
The last boy who seemed to be around her age was Tobin. As usual when others were talking he didn't say anything. He simply walked out of the living room during the process of introduction.
Sharon couldn't help but notice that Tobin was the most handsome of the brothers and from the little she had observed, it seemed like was also being treated differently from the others.
Unlike the other boys who had some sort of resemblance to Mr Lancaster, Tobin was totally different. She reasoned he reminded her of her own father, Mr Peter Jackson. She got sad immediately she remembered that name. She decided to take a stroll outside to see where Tobin had gone to.
