Bewitched by her elusive stare, I take the first blow of the night. Her fist collides with my cheek, sailing me back onto my ass. The air is knocked out of me as I blink towards the night sky. My lower body barely moves to my command. Before I can catch my breathe, Nyx grabs the front of my clothes, jerking me up. I fell from her hand before she pounds me into the ground over and over again, springing my body up and tossing it down as rubbish. My lungs barely move as my ribs are taking the beating. My arms cover the rest of my body, but it doesn't do much as she hardly huffs during her brief intermission.
I manage to keep my eyes open out of the whole ordeal. Nyx doesn't speak, doesn't make any sound, but her iron hand doesn't release me from her grip once she touches me. My fingers randomly pluck her fingers from my suit when she suddenly jerks away from my skin. A frown covers her face before she slams her elbow into mine. Blood leaks from my nose after the first few hits. I was becoming dizzy from all the head knocking to the ground. Finding an opening quickly, I reach out, clawing at the female. Skin tears from my claws and I watch as liquid silver streams out of her wound. Too distracted by the abnormal phenomenon, Nyx tackles me to the sandy floor.
I have no energy to rival against her, no magic to send her on her ass and bury her ten feet under, and barely any determination to live after the tackle. My ribs were cracking and I was winded from the takedown. Turning to my stomach, I begin coughing. Flem and blood exit my mouth with the more beatings I take. Standing, Nyx and I hold gazes, determined to take the other out.
I was strong, but with every attempt I make, she blocks the blow and bestows another punch to my jaw. My body couldn't handle the injuries much longer, so I had to think of a plan to force her on her back and kill her quickly. Another knock to my head sends me reeling back from the blow. I gulp down blood before choking it back up, spitting it in Nyx's face. The Anima of Night grows, wiping away the regurgitated liquid furiously as I prepares my attack.
After spitting up the blood, my body automatically runs toward her, landing a kick into her stomach. Nyx fell back, landing on the ground. I took my chance and pounced on her. As quick as I could, I pinned down both of her wrists with one hand and swiftly jammed my arm towards her neck. Unfortunately, her bites my arm and we begun to roll for domination.
My arm burns as the purple liquid drips from Nyx's mouth. My blood was leaking onto my white suit, and I knew it was going to be a pixie to get out if I lived through this. Dust began to rise as we roll back and forth, fighting to get the upper hand. Her sharp teeth rip my skin as she jerks her head back and forth like a Hellhound. With a primal scream, I shove my feet into her stomach and wrench her body from mine.
A burst of light ignites through the arena, and Nyx is no where to be found. My chest is heaving fast as I manage to stand and keep my ryes open for the darkness. As excited as I was to try out my new power, I was more focused on my life. Glancing to my hands, I find light bursting through, rays of bluish gold leal from my fingers. I could only smirk when I was brought down again by Nyx. She forced herself on top of me and grabbed my hair with one hand. Her other hand jerks my neck to her palm, lifting me in the air. The air doesn't reach my lungs, but I hear growls of anger and fury.
I was lifted high enough in the air to spot a massive wolf and Thesis' beast raging against the metal forcing them back. I coulf see pain in their movements as they fought against the silver. Watching them made the moment still. Thesis banged against the caging, roaring at the sting of the metal. Theros was using his teeth to bite the metal or create a hole, but he flinches back at the silver. They charged and snarl at the metallic screen, planting them outside the arena once again. As I observe their painful efforts against the metal, I find myself in a rage.
They weren't supposed to be the ones hurt.
My eyes began to burn at my rage until I scream. Without a forewarning, I plant my boots onto her shoulders, flipping from her grasp. Without thinking, I step on a certain spot on my boots, sliding out a knife from my right shoe. Nyx comes barreling after me with stars in her eyes. I hold my position for a moment longer until she's directly in front of me. I twirl, sinking the knife into her side. Nyx cries out from the blow, knocking her down to a knee. Her eyes become two bright stars as she tackles me to the ground.
I gasp before forcing the back of my right foot into her back several times. My hands engulf her face as I push her back, trying to seek refuge within my light. She screams in pain as she pounds me to the ground. Her claws puncture my skin, tearing my clothes and staining them a dark violet. I scream as loud as I can, channelling all my energy into killing the demon Anima of Night.
Light begins to consume the entire arena, and I have to shut my eyes from the strength of my newfound power. It's hard to think about anything or anyone besides Theros and Thesis. They were hurting themselves to reach me; I couldn't allow them to hurt themselves if I was going to survive this. So with as much strength I had left, I called on my will to live and screamed.
Meanwhile, Nyx hoists me into the air with her claws buried deep into my flesh. I screamed for the pain, for the love of my two chosen bonds, and for my freedom. My eyes shut quickly, forcing all negative emotions to disperse. Nyx's scream invades my ears as we begin to fall. I curse and demand for a silver lining for what comes next.
But I don't hit the ground like I thought I would. Instead, the light envelopes me into an unconscious sleep as I lose my sight to the light. I'm far too gone to know what's happened or if I've defeated Nyx.
I only rest within the light and allow it to take me wherever the light guides me.
