Chapter 1 - Warriors of Sapphire Celtic

Chapter 1

Hayden woke in his bed in the barracks; it hadn't been more than a few hours since his promotion in the ranks to commander alongside his long-time friend and brother Riker. He was nervous, sure he had taken command before but under these situations, it seemed unnatural. they had just lost their commanding officer the day before and he had led the hounds for over a thousand years beforehand. he stood going outside from the darkroom into the bright light of heaven and her pearly gates- shielding his eyes he would look upon them

The reality had set in the truth was they were not holy soldiers fighting the good fight. They Were prisoners of war being trained to fight whom of which they used to fight for not to mention the fallen angels that turned against heaven and their queen. Lady Serena was kind enough to the men after a victory but could be as cruel as the devil so to speak when they failed her. As he shuddered in thought about the last mission they had lost as result, losing a commander.

It was a simple retrieval mission they had done several thousand times it had seemed, or least it was supposed to be a simple mission thinking about it. Commander Elliot was talking about the newly fallen angel and their mission to retrieve it. As he recalled Commander Elliot saying" alright we're going after a seraphim angel this go around stay on alert their holy powers are stronger than most we've faced already..he is a cunning warrior as well he was apart of the scouting regiment that was stationed in the northern hemisphere of earth it will be a quick in and out we will cuff him and let the other angels bring him before their queen- a few mocked voices come forth as they notice the hounds do all the work the angels always get the credit-the commander shakes his head" gentlemen you know how this works we aren't holy we're lucky we still have our heads.

Shaking his head as he stepped out looking to the lake of heaven thinking more about the night before. As dusk settled over the earth casting what seemed to be an endless shadow a few dozen hounds peaked out of the shadows moving to the house the angel had chosen to hide in. as in the earpieces you could here command moving certain squads to cut off areas as the main force with Elliot, Hayden, Riker on one side and hunter with 5 other soldiers on the other side. Hayden said aloud though no one could hear him in the present time thinking back" I guess the calm before the storm is true''.The team would reach their positions and as they had done millions of times before began the silent breach walking through the shadows surrounding the fallen slowly encircling him each step as cautious and quiet as the next each man thinking the same "take him while he sleeps just stay asleep…" , They would inch closer and closer each man having a hand on their blades ready to strike As the angels' eyes flash open the radiant blue calming as though they held back an ocean within his head he laid still for a moment looking to each of his attackers reaching for his kamas slowly pulling them into his hand as he spoke calmly"i suppose i knew they would send you bunch of merry misfits the mighty hound guard protectors of the queen and her gates….have you ever once stepped inside of the gates of heaven'' distracting them long enough to be able to pull his weapons Twisting his body as he got into a defensive guard holding his weapons up simply whispering :shall we begin" barely loud enough for the hounds to react

Hayden thought back slowly on the fight as he could recall it saying out loud once more" Riker was the first to act he was the closest "Riker would indeed be the first to react as he would rush in from the fallen angels left side slicing up at him with his sword only to become locked in blades with the fallen and his kamas. Riker" you betrayed you kindly, you honestly thought you could get away with this "Forcing more power into his blade pulling it back swinging at him, again and again, trying to find a weak point in his defence. As the sound of iron on iron rang true in the small wooden house where the angel had been forced to hide.

The next attack would come from hunters and Hayden working together Hayden was blonde-haired and hunter had Auburn red-tinted both capable soldiers as the swing with their blades against the fallen defences hoping to pierce it Hayden shaking his head "I hate angels I swear to Lucifer with all I am I'm going to end this war" clashing and locking blades as the angle gives a smirk so subtle you would have missed it if you went looking "I'm going to kill every single one of you dogs but you can't touch me without permission can you ?" Slicing up against hunter staggering him back a few steps leaving just him and Hayden ducking and dodging each other strikes Hayden just barely grazing the angles right arm before being pushed back by the power of the strike.

What would happen next as Hayden recalled it …things happened so fast even still he wasn't sure if it ever had. Several soldiers would rush the angel as he fought one by one through each of the five taking them down. Hayden covered his face leaning on some railing " the first one he was only a corporal." The hound had rushed him from behind trying to choke him out and bring him down so the commander could secure the asset as it were. But the angel had seemed so confident it's like he knew how we worked. He stepped to the side as he had let the hound by. Beheading the hound in one quick stroke of his left karma letting the hound turn to ash.

The second and third they fell at the same time they came quickly from the left and right the angel had jumped into the air kicking the left hound back to a wall as he cut through the right hound's chest spinning as he landed bringing the kamas into the heart of the left. The fourth one had a wrist shield and as he adjusted it deployed facing the fallen they had locked blades for what seemed like minutes in reality only seconds the young hound had managed to block 4 strikes before being gutted and turned to ash. The last one he was the squad Sgt he was a decent fighter though Hayden couldn't recall his name...but the man he had survived the longest actually managing to injure and damn near scare the angel into submission but at the last moment Angel's wings a sharp of blades extended cutting him multiple times before he had fallen and the angle had disappeared retreating into a flash of light so bright it was worse than heaven on a sunny day.

Hayden sighed heavily thinking back on the walk home after they had burned the last man to ash it was silent not a man spoke they all knew what was coming next no one wanted it..no one liked it.. but they knew and that made it all the worse was what the queen would do when she found out.
