Fighting with his back against the wall was Sir John. His sword covered his unarmoured body as a man in a similar black uniform and mask cornered him to. As best as he could, he kicked the man at the body.
The man wasn't expecting it, was taken aback because of the kick. And right after that, without giving the man any chance of surviving, Sir John did an overhead attack. Immediately splitting his head in half with his steel sword.
With heavy panting and severely small cuts on his body, Sir John made his way toward the bathroom of the bedroom. He opened it and saw the two princesses, Jasmine, and Ekrem, hugging each other, "you two are safe right now…"
Soon enough, Aiden and Oliver arrived at the room. Seeing the small cuts on Sir John's body, Aiden hurriedly approached him and placed his hands on Sir John's shoulder, "The cuts are not that deep… you will survive,"
He then noticed the two princesses, slowly getting themselves up while slightly still trembling, Aiden turned around to Oliver, "Oliver, you guard the front, we will try to find a horse in the stable and escape the god damn city!"
Oliver smirked and nodded as he directed his attention to the hallway. Soon enough, all five of them found themselves inside the hallway, slowly advancing forward with Oliver in the font, Aiden in the back and Sir John in the middle. It was the formation they figured out in such a short time.
A few moments have passed. The hallway was similar to a maze, but with the help of the two princesses, they made it to the courtyard where they met with a group. It was a group of mamluks, guarding the courtyard.
One of the mamluks approached them and asked politely, "Dear guest, please stay in your room, the situ…"
Seemed like it was the moment he realized something was not right. The man waved his arms to the air and shouted, "Medics! Medics! There is someone injured here!"
A man, wearing a turban and a long robe, came running toward them with a wooden box on his hands. Sir John was laid down at the long carpet and the two princesses sat down at the edge of a water fountain that was near them at that moment.
Soon enough, Sir John was treated as Aiden and Oliver were cautious to the surrounding, Oliver said, "Mate, I ain' takin no part in the defense of the siege, let's go and get out of this city!"
Aiden nodded and placed his mouth close to the master bowman's ear, whispering, "I agree… but we need to sneak out, quietly, or get the permission to do so. The mamluks, the real one, fight better than the one in the royal palace, I'm not confident with my skill"
Oliver sighed and whispered back in his heavy accent, "I agree too, their armour is too thick, my arrow won' piece through them!"
They both sighed. Suddenly, they heard the familiar voice of a man, "What's happening here?"
They both slowly turned around and saw the man. It was the little brother of Ekrem that greeted her when they arrived at the city. As soon as they saw him and at the same time, they thought the same thing, 'We could ask him for permission, '
The teacher and student nodded to each other and slowly approached the man. When they were close enough, they slightly bowed, "Your majesty. It seems that a force is besieging this city"
The man crossed his arms and nodded, "I'm aware of that, but can you explain what's happening here?"
At that moment, Aiden and Oliver's eyes were directed toward each other while they were still bowing. Aiden softly whispered, "You do the talking, you are older"
Oliver sighed and placed his fake accent that increased the heaviness in his voice, "Your majesty, it seems that you are not aware of assassins in black. They attacked us and we believe, there are more of them inside the city and palace. It wouldn't be safe for any of us to remain here"
The man smirked and chuckled, "Are you telling me to leave my own home? My own palace, my own city because of some assassins in black? There are mamluks guarding us!"
Oliver raised his face, about to shout at the man's face, 'This guy! If only…'
It was his true nature, but he kept his composure and said to him, "Well, sir, I'm not saying that you should do that. But what if your two sisters got caught up in the fight? It would be dangerous for us if the enemies flooded the city!"
Aiden raised his face too and nodded, "That's right. It seems that you care for your sisters so much, bringing her to another place would be safer than here!"
The man uncrossed his arms and clenched his fist, but somehow managed to keep a straight face, "Well then, it seems that your words have some truth to it. I'll give you the permission, take the horses and get out of this city. I shall assign a few mamluks in case you, westerners, do something bad to my sisters!"
Aiden smiled and nodded, "Certainly, sir! We will do our best to make sure that your sisters are safe and still preserve their beauty!"
The man chuckled and nodded, "Well yes, now excuse me"
A few moments later, after Sir John was treated and was back to his fighting state, they got their horses, 5 in totals, just like the amount of people in their group. The amount of mamluks accompanying them were 15 in totals, assigned to be their guards.
And just like that, the 5 of them got on their horses and while being accompanied by the mamluks, escaped from the city through the back gate. They ride their horses on the open grasslands, but what they didn't expect were several men in black riding on their horses, following them.
