After the main ceremony guests moved to another location within the barrier. That's where the reception was located. Like every banquet in tea parties, each guest had their designated tables. The Royal Family had a table of their own. The main family of the newlyweds was at the same table. Friends of the bride and groom were separated though in case of hidden conflict unknown to others.
Despite changing her hair color and eye color to black, Christina was helpless at the attention that Elysia was attracting. Although she could use magic to cover for them again, she was afraid that this event would leave her a bad memory the moment she recalled it in the future.
Choosing places with a small crowd and inconspicuous, Christina found Mike's table and headed towards it. In a moment of carelessness, Christina bumped into someone.
"Oh, sorry."
Christina instinctively apologized and lifted her head to see who the person was. But when they saw eye to eye, her eyes shook. She was frozen in place and staring blankly at the man.
"Are you okay?"
The man asked politely. His voice snapped Christina back to reality.
'Silly me... he couldn't possibly be alive.'
Christina smiled politely and apologized again with an airy breathless whisper. It was enough for the other person to hear and the man smiled back and moved to the side.
The man was already a distance away but Christina was still standing in her place. Elysia was initially playing with the flowers on her hand when she noticed that they're not moving. She raised her head and looked at Christina.
Christina didn't notice anything, not even Elysia's movement caught her attention. As a child, Elysia was still impatient and immature over little things. She grabbed the hem of Christina's dress with her small chubby hands and tugged.
Blinking a couple of times, Christina managed to recollect and focus on herself. She patted Elysia's back and went on their way. Unknown to them, the man before looked back at them from afar. He smiled mysteriously but not in a malicious way.
"What are you standing there for?"
When they got closer, Mike welcomed them with an annoyingly funny question. Christina glanced at him for a second and nodded towards Liliana. As if there's a tacit understanding between women, Liliana pinched real good at Mike's thigh under the table covers.
Mike tried hard not to show it on his face but failed when he heard Eric's stifling laugh. Not to further embarrass himself in front of those close to him, Mike changed the subject.
"Seriously, Lady Christina, how come you came up with this idea for Eric but not on mine?"
His complaints were written all over his face. Liliana discreetly facepalmed at the childish acts of her husband.
"Then marry again."
Blinking a couple of times, the idea sunk into Mike's stupid brain. He remembered where his conversation with his wife ended earlier. He faced his wife saying...
"That's a good idea! Lily, please consider another wedding with me. Please!"
Liliana was cornered by Mike's puppy eyes. She wanted to say something but she couldn't. When Eric and Juliana came to their table and greeted them.
"How are you guys over here? Comfortable?"
"Nothing much. Waiting for some food, I guess?"
Mike answered dryly to Eric's greeting. With that, Eric called over a waiter and ordered him to get a couple of food.
"Here it is."
The waiter came back with several main dishes and fruit dessert. But when the steak was placed in front of Liliana, her face went pale. She instinctively tugged hard on Mike's shirt.
"What's wrong?"
Liliana caught everyone's attention as she covered her mouth, trying not to vomit in front of everyone. Mike panicked and looked at the others on the table, asking for help.
"Lady--"
When the waiter was about to ask, Christina stood up from her seat and put the steak a distance away from Liliana. Liliana felt like she was able to breathe again. Elysia jumped down from her seat and patted Liliana to give some comfort.
Eric and Juliana's eyes went wide and looked back at Christina, asking for confirmation. Mike noticed their reaction but didn't have an idea why. Christina motionless stood there as if watching a drama unfold.
When Liliana recovered some of her strength, Mike was there continuously comforting her. She looked at Mike and at the others. Her smile puzzled Mike, even more, when he stupidly asked.
"What's going on with you, Lily? Please don't scare me like that again."
Rolling his eyes at the stupid Mike, Eric replied.
"You probably need to get used to it from now on though."
"What do you mean?"
Mike was about to get annoyed when Liliana slightly tugged his sleeves. Her voice had no strength when she said.
"I'm pregnant."
"Yeah, you're pregnant--"
Mike was stunned with his mouth wide open. Liliana had to repeat what she said much clearly this time.
"I'm pregnant."
With his hands trembling, Mike grabbed Liliana's shoulders with little to no strength and asked.
"You're really pregnant?"
Liliana nodded.
"Pregnant? As in a baby, in that-- no your stomach? A life?"
His tone was getting higher and higher as every word passed. Liliana still cooperatively nodded.
"HOLY--!"
Mike lifted Liliana off of her seat, leaving a pouting Elysia on the side. He even twirled around in joy letting Liliana feel the ground again and stand on her own feet. He then moved towards the cold statue, Christina. He didn't care at the cold reception but he hugged her tightly.
Christina let him but didn't respond to his actions. Afterward, he let go and grabbed her shoulders excitedly.
"MASTER! I'm going to be a father! A dad! HAHAHA."
Then he turned to Eric and boasted.
"Fuck your wedding! I'm going to be a dad! Who's the loser now!"
Eric wanted to retaliate but seeing his friend roaring in joy, he didn't want to ruin it as he didn't ruin his wedding. Liliana was beet red in embarrassment. She went towards the maniacally laughing Mike and pulled his ears back to their seats.
With Mike's smile wide and grinning, nobody wanted to ruin his thunder. As this was a very auspicious day, Christina made the outside of the barrier rain as a form of blessing and form a rainbow. This made the venue sparkle in beauty.
"Nana!"
Christina picked up Elysia and carried her into a good angle to observe a much beautiful scenery. Elysia was pleased with the sight and moved her hands to create a flower crown. When she finished, she squirmed down from Christina's arms and went towards Liliana.
"Riri!"
Elysia handed over her crown to Liliana. Liliana reciprocated with a sweet warm smile.
"Thank you."
Ruffling her head, Elysia grinned.
