Throughout the day, Christina managed to enjoy and smile for the rest of the event. Unexpectedly, it wasn't the royal family that's hammering on the back of her head. Rather it was the face, a familiar face of the man who she bumped into earlier.
From time to time, Elysia would notice her blanking out in conversations. During this time, the little girl would tug Christina back to reality. It happened a few times that Elysia was getting in distress.
Fortunately, before her little immature impatience erupted in public, the day was over. But this didn't stop Elysia from acting petulant even if it wasn't true. The moment they returned to the house, Elysia ran off to her bedroom and slammed the door shut.
Christina knew that something was wrong, not with Elysia, but with her. She held her hand on her forehead and headed to her bedroom. She didn't have any energy left to coax her little sulky baby.
The moment she laid down on her bed, the heaviness that went unnoticed before resurfaced to her heart.
'...it's been a while since I felt like this again.'
"Emman..."
Christina closed her eyes and went to sleep. She went into a deep sleep and drifted afloat in a piece of memory, of the past.
...
"Hmm..."
Christina felt her body ache badly as she tried to get up. She tried but she failed. Half asleep, she looked at the unfamiliar wooden room. It was like the old wooden medieval inns that could be seen or read in fantasy novels.
'An inn?'
As a modern girl just a few hours earlier, fresh air from the window and the smell of wood was rare for her. Her mind couldn't catch up at the sudden turn of events.
"Where am I?"
Christina noticed her voice cracking and hoarse. She looked around and saw a wooden cup filled with water. It was oddly shaped that she wasn't sure if it was for her to drink. But since she also had a vase with flowers near the window in the room, it was safe to say that it was drinkable water.
She forced her aching arm to grab the wooden cup but she couldn't even hold it. The wooden cup eventually went unbalanced and fell onto the ground. The water spilled everywhere on the floor.
This time she noticed her arm was covered in white unrefined gauze. It wasn't just her arm but her entire body that was covered in it. Good thing, it was just from the neck downwards, or else she would've mistaken herself as a mummy reborn in medieval times.
Shivers
Cold wind passed through the window that made her poorly dressed self tremble.
Thud thud thud
Several heavy footsteps could be heard from below, obviously running up to the floor where she's at. Christina went on full alert. This was an unknown place, in an unknown world. In medieval times, anything could happen without getting proper justice.
'...Am I going to die again? No, I can't!'
Despite the injured body, Christina jumped down from the bed and hurriedly grabbed the flower vase from the window. It was the only candid weapon that could surely hurt a person.
Finally, the footsteps stopped but Christina became even more anxious. Based on her sneaking out experience in the modern world, she could roughly deduce accurately where they stop and where they stand up right now. And as horrible as it sounds for her, it was her room.
They stopped right in front of the door of her room. Christina could almost hear her heartbeat in anxiousness. Her heart was beating hard as she gripped the flower vase tightly and raised it up in the air.
'1…'
Christina counted through her thoughts.
'2…'
She positioned herself to throw the flower case at any second.
'...3!'
The door slammed open and Christina unintentionally threw the flower vase right into the first person who came. She knew that it wasn't what she initially planned and panicked even more.
Thankfully, the man who came in first had good reflexes and dodged the incoming flower vase. Unfortunately for the guy on the back, he was hit right into his face.
Bam!
"Ack!"
"I'm sorry!"
Soon as the vase hit on his face, Christina readily bowed and apologized. Everyone was frozen in place. The atmosphere was deathly still.
Awkward.
"U-uhh..."
Christina, who was still bowing her head, flinched at the aching voice of the man who got hit. The nervousness and guilt made her retreat a few steps backward to the window.
'If anything happens, I'll just jump right into the window. It might hurt but there's nothing to lose in trying either.'
Sneaking a glance at the people in front of her, Christina saw a good-looking man, a red marked face of the man who got hit by the flower vase and a short old fat man wearing an apron and bandana on the head.
"Got a good look?"
The good-looking man caught her glancing their way. Christina knew that there's no point in bowing to hide anymore. She stood up straight to get a proper look at the people in front of her.
Instead of taking her time to check them out, she ended up in a staring contest with a cold faced good-looking man.
"Got your fill?"
'Fucking narcissistic!'
Christina glared at him, gritting her molars and clenching her knuckles. Despite all of this, she still smiled at them politely exuding an aura of warning and caution.
Not long, another set of footsteps was heard from the hallway coming their way. It came to a stop and an angry young female voice could be heard saying.
"Why the fuck are you blocking the entrance?! Hurry up and come in! There's still that patient in there!"
The young woman ran into them and pushed them aside. Christina was entranced by her red hair and heightened her sexy curve figure in a wood brown knee-length female hunter dress with a black belt on her waist.
Uwaaah~
She felt like this woman came out from one of her favorite fantasy novels just for her to enjoy in reality. With her eyes sparkling, the good-looking man sighed and tapped the shoulder of the young woman with red hair.
"Hmm?"
The red-haired young woman looked at the good-looking man who was pointing behind him. This time, the red-haired young woman noticed the red mark face of the man behind.
"Pfffttt... What happened to your face?! HAHAHA"
"Ugh"
The red marked face man groaned in despair as he was laughed at by the young woman.
"Ehem ehem!"
The old man grabbed the young woman's attention as he pointed towards Christina. Blinking several times, the young woman laughed even louder than before.
"You mean she did this to him?! HAHAHAHA"
The young woman casually went and rested her arms into Christina's shoulders. Christina was entranced by her beauty that she could hardly notice her surroundings.
"Gosh! How amazing!"
Unconsciously, Christina replied.
"You're much more amazing beauty!"
Blinking a couple of times, the red-haired young woman blanked out. She looked at the two young men near the door and delightfully said.
"How about we kidnap her for real?! I like her!"
The two men looked away from her and facepalmed. Christina heard her clearly and eagerly said.
"Sure sure! Wherever you go beauty!"
The two men were now too speechless to say anything anymore.
"That's my girl!"
While the two girls were having their own world, the men at the doorway had a different expression on them but neither had a hint of joy.
"What is going on here?"
Out of nowhere, a seductive voice of a woman was heard behind the men in the doorway. Her voice didn't go unnoticed by Christina. She looked shy and embarrassed that she hid behind the red-haired young woman.
The red-haired woman let her be and called out to the woman outside.
"Sei!"
'Japanese?'
Christina was shocked at the name that the woman was called. The way the red-haired young woman pronounced her name was just like every Japanese name.
The woman outside ignored the men in the doorway and went inside. She was wearing a one-piece black embroidered medieval dress and a dark blue hooded robe with a rune-like design written all over the edges.
'What a beauty! Did this world forbid ugly people to exist?!'
Before she could say or react, Christina's vision seemed to be spinning. The world was turning round and round and she couldn't help but wobble. The woman called 'Sei' noticed and said.
"Get her on the bed. She's still unwell."
With that, Christina floated in the air, or rather the red-haired young woman picked her up in a princess carry. Unable to muster any strength, Christina fell into another round of sleep.
'...ah, right. That happened back then. I wonder what happened after…'
On cue, a flash of bright light succumbed to her floating body.
