The high-pitch squeal of the tiny being was enough to cause a smile on Vera's tired face. From the lack of sleep and over exertion from carrying three loads of dead meat back to the tribe had taken its toll. Vera wanted to face-plant the moment she tumbled into the shelter, where Theon and Marzena were occupied. When she has stumbled through the door, Marzena was the one to help the siren into the bath. Theon has long disappeared, claiming he would take care of the seven golms and mauve waninu she dragged behind her.
Of course, Marzena has bombarded her with questions, curiously demanding where she was and who she was with. Marzena could have had a heart attack from all the stress Vera had put her through. Marzena never had a problem with Taliesin or Noelani when they grew up. Taliesin always ventured to watch the warriors train as Noelani stuffed her face in many Earth books she could find. Marzena has given up hope for raising a good daughter, a strong daughter, the moment Kaius had arrived. Being the third— not counting Vera— of children in their family, he's automatically first in line to be Second Hunter after Theon. Marzena was fine with just Kaius because she wouldn't have to have anymore pups after that. She wouldn't have to picture Dariol's face every time they...
Marzena gasps when the pup throws himself into the water with Vera. The faint giggle of her first born brings a comical relief to the occasion, even if Vera had overstepped. The chocolate locks of Atlas soak up the water as his moona gently lets his head. She fully embraces her podling in a gracious hug that's followed by three more.
"Moona, moona!" A joyous chant of relief.
"Doe nah leave us a'more," A weak threat of sadness.
"Yar back, moona!" A tender embrace of love.
"We miss yah.. so much, moona..." A mumbled cry of forgiveness.
Vera embraces her loving quad with tears in her eyes. As weird as it was to Wolvernrians to show affections in the nude, Aquaticans, even Varks, knew how to express their emotions only one way; through touching. Her arms hold the little ones close, not daring to move in fear of breaking the group hug. Even though she was only gone for just the night, Vera had still missed her quad. This was the first time she had ever left the quad with someone else over night, and if this was the reaction when they returned, Vera wanted to do it more often.
The five were soon broken up by Marzena, who clears her throat. The brunette beauty sheepishly smiles at her daughter, waving the soapy rag around. With a faint smile, Vera whispers to her little merlings, "I have a surprise for you~ Kaius has them."
Vera giggles at their awestruck and estates faces before they run off to find their uncle for their prizes. Vera couldn't wait to see their faces when they found him. She could imagine it now. She laughs to herself while Marzena bathes her, swiftly cleaning her skin free if any dirt or blood that might soil her beloved skin, not that Vera minded. To her, blood was a current of rage that blankets the eyes from the truth; not everything lasts.
The peace and quiet of the early morning is soon dispersed with the powerful thudding of footsteps throughout the home. Marzena was the first to stand, shielding her daughter in case of a male. When that male did round the corner, Marzena bows.
"Alpha," she says, "may I ast what yeh've hum'ly cum 'ere fer?"
Alpha Mirran's eyes flickered time the naked female behind Marzena. Before his emotions could stand in the way, he growled, "I need tah speak wit the female."
Vera, gearing his voice, leans over the edge of the tub. "Speak, then. Alpha." She adds the last part, just to be cordial. The wet strands of hair fall from her head and envelope her voluptuous chest in a dark curtain. Vera pays no mind to the tent along Alpha Mirran's loincloth, and beckons him further inside.
While the naive siren tempts the Alpha, he refuses to smile. He wasn't here for pleasure, damnit! Alpha was here to put this sexy little siren in her place, but all he seemed to want to do is have her on top of him. He could picture it now.
"Very well." Alpha Mirran clears his throat, "Were yuh the female out wit Kaius last night?" His eyes hold determination and strength. She knew there's no point in deceiving the beast.
"Yes." Vera doesn't hesitate to answer.
Unexpectedly taken aback, Alpha Mirran swallows. He had already known the answer. "Did yuh, er did Kaius cash the teveene?" His voice is unwavering in his intimidation tactics, yet it didn't seem to work on Themis otherworldly female.
"I did." The water trickles down her arms and into the stone floor while Vera crosses them on the rim. Her eyes blink once.
Alpha Mirran swallows. "I see.." he turns to Marzena and purses his lips. "I'll bay speaking more wit 'er shordly, win she's dressed. I'd like tah ast 'bout the affair." As he spoke the last sentence, Vera felt the chills from his words, knowing he would definitely speak and probably do something else as well.
A smile graces Vera's lips as the male leaves. Marzena finishes up her back and rinses out the tub of water. Vera only smiles, her happiness confusing Marzena. Thinking about the teveene and putting the exhaustion behind her, Vera wanted to run out there again to kill another one.
She loved the taste of their blood.
