It was early in the morning when Laz woke up, the had just started to rise. Sitting upright in his bed with La stretched and yawned. Setting his feet on the wooden floor, Laz walked by the desk and picked up his clothes he picked out for today. Walking into the bathroom, La turned on the shower and got undress. Stepping inside and closing the shower door, Laz took a moment to realize that the water temperature was rather cold compared to his when his aunt takes a shower. She always used the water no matter what she's doing whether it's washing the dishes cooking food or taking a shower.
Finishing his shower Laz lotioned and got dressed. Looking in the mirror Laz fixed his striped turtle-necked sweater. Grabbing a coat, his suitcase, and backpack Laz headed downstairs. Gabrielle was sitting at the table, she hadn't gone to work last night. She looked up at Laz and smiled, and motioned him to sit down. Resting down all his stuff on his suitcase he walked over to where Gabrielle was sitting and hugged her.
"I wish could have breakfast with you, but I don't want to miss the bus," Laz whispered.
"That's alright wouldn't want you to miss the time of your life." Gabrielle patted him on the back.
"Now go! Before you miss your bus." Gabrielle smiled again.
Laz smiled as well. Putting on his coat, Laz threw his backpack over his shoulder grabbed his suitcase, and headed towards the door. Opening the door Laz could feel something rubbing up against his leg. Looking down Toast was right beside Laz, squatting down Laz stroked the cat before getting up again and walking out. Turning around to see his aunt by the door he waved, his aunt waved back. He turned back around and started down the sidewalks. There weren't many people walking around, probably because it was so early in the morning.
When Laz finally arrived at the bus location, he looked around there was no one there. Looking at the time on his he realized he read the time wrong he was 30 minutes early, there was a cafe right next to the bus stop so Laz headed there instead. Laz placed his bags near his seat and walked u to the counter.
"Hi! Welcome to Lavender Cafe, what can I get for you?" a young lady with blonde hair smiled.
"Can I get and latte and a blueberry scone, please?"
"Of course, may I have a name for your order?"
"Ethan."
"Thank you so much, sir, you will be called out soon so you can go ahead and grab a seat.
Laz sat back down where he left his bags, not to long after his order was ready he paid and went to eat them at his table. Looking out the window sipping his latte Laz watched the people walk up and down the streets.
"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"
Laz looked beside him to see a boy his age standing with a coffee cup and breakfast sandwich in his hand. Laz nodded, and the boy sat down. He gave a wide warm smile and began to sip coffee.
"Thanks for letting me sit here, this is my favorite spot." His ocean blue eyes reflected in the light turning the sky blue.
Again Laz nodded, he didn't feel like interacting with the stranger.
"I see you have some bags with you." The boy pointed out, "Where are you going?"
"BlackCrow," Laz answered looking out the window.
"Woah, really?! I'm going there too!" The boy beamed in excitement, his energy seemed to bounce off Laz because he started to feel happy.
"Oh! I'm so rude I start asking you all these questions and you don't even know my name," He looked ashamed of his actions, "Hi, I'm Simon Weeden. Nice to meet you."
"Laz Ethan Briar."
"Cool name, who gave it to you?" Simon asked.
"My mom gave it to me," Laz answered now facing Simon, he was enjoying his company.
The two talked and ate, asking each other questions and what they thought of the new school. Soon enough the bus pulled up and the boys left the cafe and boarded the bus.
