Chapter 23 - Chapter 22

Yulis was transferred using a teleportation scroll from the old and small mansion to a Castle. This allowed her to become the very first player to actually leave her spawning kingdom.

[World System announcement, Congratulations to Black Lotus for being the first player to leave the spawn Kingdom]

[Rewarding Gold coins, World reputation and Title]

[World System announcement, Congratulations to Black Lotus for being the first player to discover an Empire]

[Rewarding Gold coins, Verdesian Empire Reputation]

This announcement shocked the players around the world, the players haven't even reached level 50 and yet a player have already left their spawn point to travel to another country. Another outrageous thing is that this country is actually an empire!

The players then started to do a little digging and much to their suprise, Black Lotus was a name that had a somewhat famous history.

Players uncovered that Black Lotus was not only the first player to discover a town, but this player was also the first to obtain a blueprint and craft their own weapon.

Another information that they found was that, black lotus had a connection with golden rose, the second player to obtain their own equipment blueprint.

This event would be the very first time that the name Black Lotus, is mentioned world wide, although this fame was only short lived as most player began to forget about it.

The day finally came when Yulis had to perform in front of several nobles of the Verdesia Empire. Although they were nobles of lower origins, they could easily determine wether the imperial princess in front of them was genuine or a fake, but then again no one expected the imperial princess to find a body double and not only that the body double in front of them acted no different than the imperial princess herself.

Some of the servants even had troubles identifying the real from the fake, it happened so often that they had to do something about it.

Yulis had to wear a different colored gem ring just to help the servants identify the real from the fake.

In a large banquet ground, around a hundred nobles gathered surrounded by foods from the imperial cuisine, there were also some that came from foreign lands. The e mood was light and there were occasional laughters in the background.

Yulis memorised the script given to her before finally stepping out in a balcony, clearing her voice before a loud bell rang and interrupting the chatters of the nobles.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, i apologize for interrupting you hearty mingling, i am here to announce the purpose of this banquet. But first, I would like to introduce myself to all of you, My name is Lisvian Askarte Vi Verdesia the 8th princess of our great Empire and 11th in line to the throne." Yulis started of with a loud voice amplified by some sort of magic devices installed around the banquet grounds.

All the nobles who looked up to the balcony admired the imperial beauty that graced them of her presence. A few quiet murmurs escaped the quiet ground.

"such majesty...."

"the imperial bloodline truly lives up to its fame."

"elegant and beautiful....."

"like the light goddess of love and fertility....."

"like the dark goddess of lust and s*x....."

"say what?"

The nobles once again quieted down when yulis continued her speech.

"Today my father, his imperial majesty have given an order to the lower nobles of the smaller territories on the northern part of the empire, to officially expand their territories towards the northern forest."

This caused an uproar among the nobles as this was the first time in 10 years that the empire have planned to expand its borders, and now this grand quest is being given to them by the emperor himself!

" In the past 50 years the forest was left as a forbidden territory due to an older agreement of the empire and its previous emperor with an unknown elven force. But the next year marks as the final year of our agreement. In the previous 5 years our empire have sent emissaries and yet received no answers, the empire have finally reached the time limit. It is time to expand and conquer these new territories for our great empire! May our empire live forever and forever prosper! Ashtz i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

" Asht i Granden vi Verdesia! "

The nobles echoed with a loud thump as they stomped their foot in attention.

After speaking Yulis disappeared from the balcony and entered a guarded room, there waited several servants who greeted her respectfully.

" Magnificent work your highness, how may we serve you." The lead maid spoke while bowing her head.

"brew me some red honey tea and don't forget to fetch the snacks along." Yulis spoke in a dignified manner while gesturing the maides to change her clothes. The butlers left for the tea while the remaining maids changed Yulis's clothes from a luxurious dress to a much comfortable one.

All of them still have to act the part just in case a spy may be watching, although unlikely since they have their own guards hiding in the shadows, someone might still be peeking.

The quest went smoothly and without any hiccups, Yulis was escorted to a carriage where she returned to the main castle where she rested.

Yulis already travelled across the kingdom and left to the empire causing the system to once again announce her name as the first player to leave their own spawn kingdom, and once again the first player to enter an empire.

All players spawned inside of the territory of a kingdom and never an empire, all the roads leading to the neighbouring kingdom let alone an empire is extremely dangerous and filled with tier 0 to tier 3 monsters and if unlucky, mini bosses.

Many players who saw the double notification went ape crazy and many guessed how Yulis managed to cross the perilous journey towards an empire.

Since no information other than Black Lotus being the first player to leave their spawn kingdom and being the first player to enter an empire.

Many guessed that she found a hidden passageway, some believed that she managed to avoid all the monsters, and many more think that it's from a quest.

"splendid work out there!" the princess praised Yulis before leaving a pouch filled with 200 gold coins in the table.

Yulis meekly nodded while placing the pouch in her inventory while listening to the princess.

"Your next work is to inspect our northern territories, the nobles from there are given 1 year and a half to increase the size of their standing army for the expedition and expansion of the lands aswell as the security of our borders and existing territories. "

"The paper containing information would be given to you later, but first how was it?." The princess gazed at Yulis's eyes after placing an empty cup of tea down.

"pardon?" Yulis was confused by the sudden question of the princess.

"how did it feel speaking in front of the nobles? was it suffocating? were you excited?" The princess reiterated her question.

"oh, uhm no princess, it wasn't, i didn't feel any discomfort or excitement, I just did what you ordered." Yulis answered truthfully.

"good, because i expect more from you in the future." The princess said while standing up and leaving the room.

Yulis had to wait for further instructions inside of the room, as part of her quest, her freedom was obviously constricted since it will do no good to walk around while having the identity of an imperial princess.

To combat her boredom she either chatted with her sister or browsed the official forum of the game.

While watching a video about the game a maid entered the room before leading Yulis to a heavily guarded carriage.

After a few days, Yulis arrived at one of the northern territory, a land of a Baron who specialises in farming wine grapes.

The baron had a mere 500 or so soldiers and 50 knights under his command. Her Imperial Princess Yulis delivered the command and seal of approval to conscript soldiers if necessary although it is recommended to hire them instead.

Yulis also sampled their fine wine and famed delicacy before leaving for another territory. On the 3rd territory their caravan was suddenly ambushed by around a hundred bandits.

Their leader was a tier 3 hunter while their lieutenants was at late stage tier 2, the bulk of them were at tier 1. Even if the weakest of them could easily stomp at Yulis like an ant but she wasn't worried, since her escorts consists of tier 3 Imperial Knights and Imperial Mages while being led by a tier 4 Magic Knight.

The battle didn't last long since after less than half of them were killed, they immediately fled in a disorganised way.

It took almost whole month in game for Yulis to complete the territory inspection, along the way they were attacked multiple times by some road bandits. The amount of times that they were attacked started to raise some suspicions, but before a proper investigation was launched, another ambush came about but this time it actually did some damage.

It was cold morning, the morning breeze kept the knights armour cold yet they seemed unaffected by it.

Their training is much more rigorous than ordinary knights, they haven't shown any sort of tiredness and instead continued as if the freezing breeze was a warm summer breeze.

Their carriage was parked in a way that formed a circle, the carriages carrying the supplies was made like a makeshift barrier while the inner part of it was where three carriages were connected creating a large room that acted like a house for the imperial princess.

The magic knight was stationed just beside the princess as form of protection against assassins. While the rest were patrolling, half were asleep while half were awake.

The Knightly order that accompanied the princess was one of the orders that was under the imperial family's command.

Led by Magic Knight Solus Van Kalmer, a veteran magic knight who served under the imperial family for more than a decade.

The Knightly order numbered at 108 knights plus the magic knight made them a deadly force that no local influence should be able to mess with easily. Even without the presence of the mages and priests, the knights were already adequate enough to provide protection inside of their own territories.

Yet at this particular morning, where the sun still hasn't blessed the sky with its presence, several hundred figures slowly emerged at the horizon a few hundred meters away. The magic knight immediately detected their presence and ordered the full force of the knights to quickly enter defensive formation.

The knights were used to the recent ambushes but the sudden appearance of an army confused them.

They were very much confident about their ability to successfully fend off the incoming army but they still didn't underestimate the unknown force bearing its fangs against them, for they didn't know what all sorts of trickery and strategies they may employ.

The morning fog hid the approaching army but the knights saw their shadowy figures slowly getting bigger as they got closer.

The battle commenced when the knights deployed the flare to light up the sky and their surroundings. This revealed hundreds of armored figures while the rest wore a mixture of leather, cloth and armor as their equipment.

Their weapons varied aswell and there is no form of cohesion as they were justscattered about without any formations or major leadership influence.

This indicated that the enemies were probably bandits, the bandits that were revealed didn't stop their silent march but instead started to go crazy and abandoning their quiet approach in favour of a more faster but noisy advance.

Their armor crashed against each other while their shadow followed behind them, the bright flare caused their shadows to look like tall stickmen. The knights moved forward and created a wall of metal and flesh, separating the defenceless carriages from the savages that wanted to plunder and kill.

Maximize offensive magic! Greater fire ball!

Several mages from behind launched a preemptive strike by casting and sending fiery balls of fire the size of a basketball, these basketballs exploded within contact quickly expanding to the size of a tree creating explosions that lit up the surroundings of the army.

The mages fired once more but this time using a much more sophisticated magic where they fired flaming arrows numbering to a thousand.

Maximize offensive magic! Greater fire arrows!

Now that they know where to fire these flaming arrows lit up the dark skies as if a shower of meteorites that decorated the night sky.

These arrows slammed against the army yet only few were pierced as most of them were carrying shields or simply dodged the volley of arrows, those who didn't have any shields hid behind their own allies and some even held them down just to use their bodies as shields.

By this time they have managed to traverse half the distance that they originally had and slowly closings in to the knights.

Maximize offensive magic! Vermilion Lance!

The mages made on final attack, a long bright spear of fire emerged from behind the knights, the spear slowly grew in size until it started to heat up the nearby knights.

When the army was about to clash with the wall the flaming spears were finally released, they crashed on the incoming waves of bandits and pieced through multiple bodies, it didn't stop until it reached the very back of the army and hit nearby trees which were immediately set ablaze.

The casualties weren't that much as most bandits who were at the back simply dodged tge large and bright flying lance.

The knights finally received the army whose numbers were barely reduced. Yet the mages still haven't left the scene, the knights oddly didn't raise their weapons and kept their shield up.

Many of the bandits taunted and jeered at them and yet the knights remained rooted. As the the bandits were about to push forward a bright and blinding light suddenly enveloped the entire forest.

Maximize supportive magic! Brilliant star!

It appeared as if the sun was up for just a brief moment, the bandits screamed and held their eyes screaming and cursing, some of them stumbled and fell down to their butt.

This time the knights moved, they brandished their sword like madmen and started hacking and slashing away. The defenceless bandits were being slaughtered! the sounds of their pained screams caused the other bandits to panic, some started to wildly swing their swords towards the sound of screaming and some slightly intelligent ones swung their swords towards the sounds of clanking armor.

Although only the ones in front were blinded, the defenders managed to halt their advance for a moment, enough to buy time for the mages to cast another wave of spells. This time a group of bright and lighting quick snakes escaped their palm and crawled and weaved through the armored knights towards the unsuspecting bandits.

Greater forked lightning!

The mages started to conserve their mana, opting to a much controlled magic, besides, now that their allies are nearby, they needed to avoid launching uncontrollable AoE spells that might harm their own.

The lightning snake seemed to come alive as it began picking targets, it preferred armored bandits as it started to avoid bandits with leather or cloth armor and would strike at the armored bandits.

It's brothers and sisters followed as well and electrocuted the unfortunate bandits in armor.

The bandits nevertheless pushed forward, they knew that all they had to do was break their line of defence and it will be easier to pick off the knights one by one.

Yet the knights never moved, not an inch, they never even flinched as they absorbed all the damage from their shield. The moment the bandits in the front regained their sight, the knights immediately went back to their defensive formation.

This frustrated the bandits since more and more of them started to fall from the attacks of the mages from behind. The bandits also had their own mages but the knights deployed some sort of barrier that prevented any magical attacks from dealing damage.

This made the bandit mages useless as they were abandoned at the back, left to twiddle their thumbs.

Still, the pressure was starting to show as the knights shields started deforming, scratches and shallow wounds started amassing on the surface of the knights armor and exposed skin.

The bandits started to regain their momentum when suddenly a group of white robed girls stepped out of one of the carriages in the middle of the makeshift defence and started casting some spells.

Middle cure wounds!

Middle regenerate stamina!

Middle invigorate!

Middle strengthen body!

Middle faith aura!

Stacks after stacks of positive buffs started piling at the knights, their strength revitalized, their wounds disappeared and their slightly tired body returned to it's peak performance.

The bandits almost faltered when they saw the presence of priests from within their enemies defence, unlike them, they're bandits, it's rare to find someone who could perform the same job as a priest and no sane priest would provide their aid to bandits.

"Don't falter ye gits! they dun hav err... wat do you call it? unlimited mana! push on!" One armored bandit from behind shouted.

"ye pansies getting scared of those knight?! whoever dares to turn around I'll personally strike" another shouted from across the battlefield.

"ar ye blind!? look at those mages and priests! they're fresh meat! why, i bet they're untouched! heheheh, HahAHaHAHA! that voluptuous priest is mine!"

More and more leader like Bandits began to encourage their subordinates, their faltering ranks began to slowly reform. More and more bandits began speaking as if their confidence skyrocketed.

"mages and priest? wasn't there a princess in there?! what do you think does she look like?"

"oh, i bet she's high grade stuff, thinking about it made me a little-"

"you fools! were supposed to kill her!"

"aye, we were, but i say, we could just report that we killed her but instead we'll hide her!"

"smart!"

"whoever grabs her first gets to keep her then!"

"bahahaha!"

More and more vile conversations like these erupted from the battlefields, and it somehow bolstered their morale and invigorated them to fight like madmen.

The magic knight keenly observed the battle field from above the sky before finally concluding.

"an unknown magic, that could control their minds, how troublesome." The Knight then gripped his sword before lifting it in front of him, pointing towards the group of defending Knights.
