Chapter 3 - Chapter 1: The start of my first mission and unexpected hijinks

So here I am having just set up my base of operations in New York eating breakfast at a cafe and going through the intelligence reports I obtained on the targets. Something that you should know about me is that even though I am strong enough that I can win a fight against everyone else in the league including Ras and both his daughters by myself is that I'm always very cautious and strategic about my actions. Anyway, so I'm eating breakfast and reading through these reports to create a tactically sound mission plan when all of a sudden I hear a voice calling out to me from a few yards away. When I look up I see Elizabeth Everdark, the person who just called out to me and was Celaena's mother, Christian Everdark, the man who used to be Celaena's father, and two girls younger than myself who I've never met before who would be Celaena's younger sisters if she still existed. Bothered by the interruption to my mission work I look up and say in a neutral tone which comes with great ease, "do I know you?" Elizabeth responds by lying " We're so sorry, we had no idea you were innocent Celaena and we didn't give you a chance. We thought after we didn't find you for several years that you were dead." It's an impressive performance with Elizabeth and Christian both producing very realistic alligator tears but I know better than to fall for their lies and am frankly insulted by them mocking my intelligence and implying that I'm too weak to survive on my own. I reply back, "Celaena Everdark exists only in the past, she is forgotten. I am The Unwavering"(An: I know League names are in Arabic but I don't know Arabic and I'm not going to look it up so just pretend it's said in Arabic.) Elizabeth and Christian produce more alligator tears and Elizabeth says, " come on honey we know what we did was wrong and we understand you're angry but please don't shut us out." They're partially correct now because I'm not angry at them for what they did to me but I am angry that they think I'm still Celaena, the weak and naive little girl that they abandoned who thought that things like morality actually mattered. I'm not that girl anymore, I am a powerful bladeswoman who understands that the only things in this world that hold any weight are power and sworn oaths. "I'm not angry at you for what you did to Celaena, like I said she no longer exists and can't be angry at you. I am angry at you for treating me like I'm a person who doesn't exist anymore and I'm angry at you for interrupting me while I'm having a working breakfast. (I then say to the waiter) Check please" and I pay the check. As I'm leaving Elizabeth and Christian move to bar my way and prevent me from getting back to work. I would just end them but there are too many witnesses here and I don't have my blades so that wouldn't end well. I growl out at them "what do you want". They appear shocked but manage to compose themselves and say "we want to know what's happened to you for you to be like this." I tell them " Fine but not here there are too many people. I'll drive." They get their two daughters and follow me to my car which is spacious, painted black, and made to look modest so it doesn't stand out. I drive them back to my base of operations and I tell them I'm making tea and they should look around for a few minutes. I do this both because I really do need a cup of earl grey to get through this (As an assassin I prefer to never consume anything which would dull my senses so I never drink alcohol but I got into English tea a while back and I use it as a substitute) and so that they can look around at the weapons and armor that I have and see who they're dealing with. I tell them the story that you guys reading this already know and then I tell them "you wanted answers and now you have them. Now either get out and let me get back to work or I will throw you out." Christian responds, "Your work is to kill twenty five men and women with lives and-" I immediately cut him off and respond, "No my work is to kill twenty five worthless terrorists that threaten Ras Al Ghul, the man to whom I have sworn my undying loyalty." Christian asks " How did you become like this Celaena?" I respond to him "Like I said Celaena exists only in the past. What I didn't tell you is why. Celaena knew when you left her to starve or to freeze that you knew she was innocent and that you were bribed into abandoning her. When you did you taught her the important lesson that the only thing which is rewarded in this world is power. So Celaena started to eliminate from within herself all unimportant things until only I remained. What did you end up doing with the blood money by the way? Mansion, or maybe private jet, or maybe something more tasteful like a full time orchestra?" Christian says, "That isn't what happened. How dare you speak to" Once again I cut him off "My parents? I've already told you that you're not. You are Celaena's parents and Celaena is gone. I am The Unwavering, Heir to the Demon and I grow tired of your lies. Leave now or stay and be cut down." I grab the sword next to me and level it at the older of their two daughters. They understand the threat and leave me to my work. I make myself some lunch and go back to formulating my strategy for the mission.
