Chapter 5 - Chapter 3: The Second Target And Clueless Idiots (Because seriously how could the NYPD ever possibly catch a Wareeth?)

The second target is named Alice Apocrypha. Her attacks are also mostly in the Middle East and she also has a private jet which takes her between attack sites and her New York headquarters. Potential Dangers: The target is a highly trained warrior largely inferior to me but at the same level as a federal agent. Also because I'm the aggressor I'll have to attack her on her turf where she may have laid traps. Exploitable weaknesses: Has no mind for strategy, no defenses posted outside her home and a straightforward home layout so the only person protecting her will be herself. She also has a husband and daughter who she cares for deeply. Mission Strategy: This woman is a disciplined warrior who won't fall for any tricks. As much as I hate combating the opponent at what they're good at the only way I can kill her is the way that I took out Soma. I suppose I could sneak up behind her but that would be a cowardly thing to do and even though as a member of the league my primary concern is Ras's will as Wareeth my primary concern is power and so I shouldn't refuse challenges (not that a fight with her would actually pose any challenge). Entry point: at noon every day she opens the kitchen windows for ten minutes and goes into the living room to read. This is my window. I need to use this time to sneak in and threaten her the same way I threatened Soma. Okay, seems easy enough. But of course, just as I'm about to leave I hear a knock on my door. Probably the police coming to check up on their "missing" officers and caelena's "missing" family. I don't have time for this as it's already 11:30 but I can sense that if I don't throw them off my trail there'll only be more hassle and if I can't make the window today I can just do it tomorrow, after all Ras never gave me a time frame for this mission, he just said get it done. Having thought that far I go to answer the door before the police get suspicious. Three detectives show me their badges and ask to come in. I allow them to enter and excuse myself to make some tea. While I'm boiling water in the kettle I observe the detectives who appear to be jumpy. When I catch them looking at my blades I understand why. Clearly they don't know why their coworkers came here or what happened by they know that I was going to be brought in and they know that that didn't happen and now they're afraid of me because they think I did something. I smile a sinister smile at this thought and consider how best to have fun with them. (An: The unwavering is usually all business but since this is her first independent mission her sadistic side is coming out.) Once I'm done I pour four cups of tea and bring them into the living room. I hold one for myself and give the other three to the detectives at which point they do the stereotypical "we'd like to ask you a few questions" thing. I gesture for them to have a seat and once they do I sit down across from them. One of them, the only female detective among them and the one whose aura is the most threatening (an: I'm allowing for the interpretation that powerful combatants can tell how strong a person is just by looking at them, this is a work of fiction so just go with it) asks the first question "Hello my name is Jillian Johnson, what is your name?" I respond, "My name is The Unwavering (again just pretend she says this in Arabic.) It's a pleasure to meet you Jillian" I say without paying attention to either of their colleagues, those two are both pathetically weak like ants I could crush under my boot, Jillian is the only one who's even worth paying attention to among the three of them. Jillian noticed this and gives a knowing smile before asking her next question "Really, that's weird because I'm pretty sure your name is Caelena Everdark." Why the hell do people keep underestimating me and comparing me with that naive and weak little girl? That's not who I am anymore. I respond to her a little more honestly than I should out of anger, "Caelena Everdark exists only in the past, she is forgotten." Jillian makes a weird expression after hearing my reply and she asks me what I mean by that. I respond, " A long time ago something happened to Caelena which caused her to understand that she saw the world incorrectly and she stripped away everything about her that was unimportant. Once that process was completed Caelena was no more and I was born in her place".
