Chapter 50 - Guardian Kiulei

Luo Si didn't dwindle on the topic any further. Any more and her opposite would get suspicious himself, no matter how dumb he was. Besides, time was not on her side as she remained uncertain how of close the head hunters had come.

"And don't call me master. At this point, we are merely fated strangers, informants at best." The simple response made Kuilei choke from cooling the released mess of a hand.

The next part alleviating his mood a little. "Considering this to be an exchange of information regarding both ways… Tell me blind soul, what is the bodhi you desire?" She regained her act, supposedly having her curiosity saturated.

'If we are only strangers, then why did I have to tell you my name and suffer such pain? No, don't lose focus now. I have so many questions. This master would better give me some face.' Though he was overwhelmed, Kuilei did not forget his master's most important goal.

He changed his style of addressing her. "Your excellency, since you have taught that boy, did you by any chance come across a red book with a silver lining?"

"I know what you speak off. But I recommend you that It is respectless to talk about other's belonging and will invoke the Fu's wrath if unwelcomed guests spied into." Her voice abyssal-like. "However, I can satisfy your intrusiveness by telling you that it is all in all a slightly better basic foundation technique and nothing more. But in the end, it is just a foundation technique, which only matters at the beginning. I can tell you a little more like that it possibly relies on one's opponents first move, but that's as far as I can go. "She patted the distressed rouge on his head as if having an abrupt change in personality. Lying through her white teeth just like him.

'Some wisdom is only to be taught by time and there is the contract. Even without it, why should I seek my doom?'

Talking about the observable superficial was not a violation of the contract. Otherwise, Luo Si would end up in a life-or-death situation at all times. Even if it was just an exchange with a sparring partner.

The contract's limitations were very strict apart from that, which was actually very helpful in her opinion. Luo Si would rather choose to die as well before creating a potential risk.

But then again, having built such a strong foundation was hard to part from, let alone come by. The pain and sweat invested to develop the meridian path alone did not allow her to make simple mistakes.

Kuilei felt like driving an emotional rollercoaster of a pregnant woman, while listening to her admonitions. 'If the book is just like any other, then how did that bi*** win the contest. Had they given her supplements, and where did she get them from? Furthermore, where has she been?'

He could only nod in hindsight. Replaying Luo Si's tournament fights, she had relied on her opponents' initiative overall indeed. Thinking about it, how close was this god in human form with her?

Having no other option, Kuilei cautiously dipped in. "Your benevolent excellency, since you have taught the noble youngling, did you by chance encounter a girl, a distasteful resentful soul that nobody wants to deal with? Easy to spot by white hair strains at the front and always dirtied clothes. As far as I know she should be a slave to that rich boy."

Luo Si remained silent for a while. Like an ice stature. 'One more word and I will kill you faster than you can spill it out.'

After sealing of this moments' memory fragment back for later, she pressed the beginning of her nose-bridge, annoyed. "Hmm, I am in the presence of knowing this individual being you are talking about. Hehe, it is funny to an extend when one of your kin longs for information about another instead of what is surrounding us. And no, I only taught the son of Fu if that is your third question."

'Can this character read minds as well, but thank god and honestly, get off your high horse, this is just a game. I can easily search the web if I want to.' He dismissed the unnecessary.

"Well, since I don't see any value in this kind of information I will share you my insight on this individuum." She carried on. "This person is very much to your expectation a servant of the Fu, branded with a slave seal for life. As far as I know the exchange was just between her life and the foundation technique." Talking about the contract was not threatening in any way like the book.

The listener inwardly rejoiced. 'A slave for life. Serves her right.'

Anyway, she did not go into detail, leaving Kuilei in the dark. Only scratching the surface, in the delusion of having found gold. "These days it might have been hard for you to find her, I don't blame your incompetence." 'I cherish it actually.' "She has lived these days inside a brothel called 'Hot beds hotter girls.' It's hearsay she won the tournament. I know in fact that one can get a sum of gold coins in return or…"

She stopped in her speech, but less because she had nothing more to say and more because her senses had caught onto something, concealing itself, closing in. And she could guess beyond doubt who it was.

The blurry figure's abrupt halt frightened Kuilei again. 'There was a timer, damn it. If I had known. No. The information he has given me are beyond my imagination. She surely must have taken the gold. As long as it's in her possession, it is automatically boss Ren's already. Ha-ha, who would have thought thinks were going on so well. Boss will reward me plenty for sure.'

'This NPC, I must follow him.' Kuilei felt this was the happiest day of his life. He had achieved everything he wanted so simply. He did not even have to pay anything except some virtual pain. But it was worth it all the way. In his eyes, Luo Si was throwing diamonds like they were cabbages at him.

Observing their movement, Luo Si concluded that they knew her position.

'How did they find me?'

The scanning qi gave her the answer, perceiving a small connection between them she gasped.

'A mark!? Aren't you guys taking things a little too serious?' Even though Luo Si had climbed to the endstage of the Martial Learner realm in no time, she had started cultivation only a couple of weeks ago, yet was already targeted by professional headhunters who knew how to mark a soul at that. These marks could only be removed by the caster himself or by his death.

At this point, she could only blame herself. 'I need to stop taking everything so simple. I thought the veil was enough, but it only blurs my appearance. My scent and soul, unprotected.'

'They say don't make your problem other people's problem…' She threw a pitiful smile at her informant. Unrecognizable through the fuzzy state. "… but he is also my problem. It should be fine."

Luo Si mumbled inaudible to herself. Her animation freaked Kuilei out, a little bit. He did not know what he had done wrong or what to do in this kind of situation.

Luckily for him Luo Si stopped her incantating-like demeanor. "Opportunities are rare. Since fate has willed our encounter, I shall give you a chance. Prove your worthiness and I might bestow you a part of my tutelage.

The sudden change enchanted Kuilei in happiness. "Oh my god! Not only have I met a legendary character, I also have the chance of improving my relation status from stranger to discipline. The heavens must be smiling at me."

The cloaked figures stepped out of the shadows like spawns, agitated in attacking their prey.

"They are of the martial artist realm, so you better watch out." Hong Luo Si flatly said, not worrying one bit.

'Wtf!? This legendary character can even summon people that strong!?' Kuilei's jaw hit the flaw, but the summons rude reply had angered him, too. "Don't worry your excellency, I know what to do."

"Hmph, do you think a measly martial learner can deal with us. Don't even dream." The skinny cloak was clearly pissed off. Honored as professionals, they had never been taken on this lightly. What was this kind of situation? A martial leaner, facing both of them, even when being reminded of their realm and might, was facing them without a shred of hesitation. Is the target a witch, able to enchant others?

Kuilei was also in thoughts of his own. 'Holy shit, martial artists. I can barely compete with others at my stage. There must be a trick to it. Whatever, I will take the initiative. The first to strike has already won half the match.'

He jumped at the skinnier shadow. His eyes devoid of hesitation. 'You must be the weaker one. I will take you on first.' He had learned from young on, that size matters.

"Hah, take my fist." Both the big shadow and Luo Si facepalmed at Kuilei's scream from embarrassment.

"Fuck off." Swatting the noob aside like a pesky fly, the accomplice pulled out his dagger before running at Luo Si. "You are my target."

Kuilei landed heavily on the ground. His arm bend unnaturally, leaving any doubt of it being broken.

Luckily it was the arm connected to the previously broken hand. His consciousness was unaffected because of the adrenaline that had overflown him for the last couple of minutes. Visualizing the skinny shadows action, he came to a quick realization. "I see. Their target isn't me, but the god NPC. This is a protection mission. How could I be so stupid?"

A liquidish substance dripped from the dagger and corrided the ground wherever it fell on.

The hunter instantly appeared in front of his prey, striking horizontally at her throat.

'Poison!'

Luo Si immediately deduced the weapons coat at one glance. Yet she remained cool. Having gone through 100 years of battleship, she learned that panic was one of the worst enemies. Calmly ducking while spinning around she evaded that death strike effortlessly. Blocking the closed in's vision with her shoulder blade reaching long hair in return.

'Frost palm.'

Countering with an ice-cold palm strike delivered into the stomach she sent the opposite equally flying against a trunk.

Although both, she and the cloaked attacker, had similar physical strength, Luo Si was more experienced. Her winding hair caught the attacker off guard after missing his strike, while she used a spinning motion to transfer more energy into her's. Wu Ji Quan allowed her to transfer energy, no matter if it was an opponent's or built up by herself.

Her expression hardening as her palm feel on something inorganic.

'He makes it look so easy. When can I fight like this?' Kuilei daydreamed.

Though the leader's scream pulled him back to his senses. "Fucking bitch, take this." The vest underneath the big shadow's mantle exploded, shooting ten dozen needles at her.

"No! This is my last chance." Quan Kuilei did what he was best at as Ren Liuxians bodyguard, throwing himself in between the two.
